I take all novices from the front, I can control the surf better, plus shout backwards...I think more experienced should be in front nearly always...nice video..
Hey give Kathy a break - she had a good low high-brace the whole time. The stern paddler managed a sustained upstream pry without a flip. That was a good ride. Makes me wish I hadn't spent the day picking dandelions.
I've seen many rafts do this, first time I've seen a canoe do the same. Usually when I'm in a canoe there's like 10 other ones tied onto mine with ropes!

Nice wave. Kathy shouldn't be paddling once the boat is on the wave. That would only serve to pull the canoe off the wave.
