The scripture passage you indicate are two verses in a larger passage referencing marriage and divorce found in Matthew 19:1-15 and Mark 10:1-12. Jesus is pointing out that God created the relationship of marriage and that he wants to those who marry to be faithful to one another and to remain married. It is important to always take verses from the Bible in proper context by examining the entire passage. Also, eunuch's do not have the external genetalia. There is nothing gay in this passage.
In John 13, they were only washing each others feet, as for taking off his garmets, since only his feet were being washed, this could have simply meant his shoes!! We do this once a quarter in church (as Jesus said to use that as an example and do as he has done,) but that doesn't mean that everyone in our church is gay!! As a psychology major, I know for a fact that there are nerounal differences going on in the brain prior to birth between future strait men and gay men. This doesn't mean all homosexuals are "gay at birth," but many are. I don't have the answers to why God let this happen, but I really don't see a homosexual any differnet from a mentally challenged individual, not saying that homosexuallity is a psychological disorder, but an inborn part of the individual that cannot be gotten rid of.
i agree with you but when i took abnormal psychology way back, homosexuality was listed as a psychological disorder, that has since changed. i also believe that some people are born gay at birth just as there are those who are compulsive fabricators. but just because someone is born with or has a propensity toward something, doesn't make it right cuz its in the majority, nor does it mean that they cannot change. why god made a person that way i don't know, perhaps it is that person's trial?

But if someone has difficulty accepting or believing that God WILL change or heal them they will often try to find a way to live with the ailment or condition. There are scriptures where God/Jesus healed lepers, and they were made whole. We could say that some of these may have had limbs restored. I don't know. I wasn't there. Your assumption that God DOESN't restore limbs, perhaps due to the fact that you have never witnessed it personally, does not make it true. I havent either, but if I had, would you believe me if I told you so? I don't claim to know why God does what he dooes (or doesnt do) but that won't make me question his goodness or ability.
The bible tells us that Jesus healed several people and even restored the dead to life. Many Christians claim that faith in Jesus can work miracle "cures". On investigation the "cures" are usually of psychosomatic illnesses or of illnesses which feature periods of remission ( TB for example ) or benign tumours misdiagnosed as cancer. Some doctors use Xray plates as evidence. Where are the photos or xrays of restored limbs?
The only proof I claim authority in is what he did in my own life. To mark1v15 if "God" created the universe and is ALL powerful, then he should be able to fix it. If he is infinitely loving and merciful then he should intervene to protect the innocent. The Secret Gospel of Mark was clearly a hoax. A gay person, Morton Smith, supposedly found it, didn't tell anyone about it for two years, and said he lost it in a monastery somewhere. He had copies of it though, but upon looking at the copies, there was evidence of mildew, which means they were not found in a desert but were written in Europe or N. America. People who knew him clearly thought Smith was capable of a hoax like this, and he loved to challenge the establishment.

Actually, that section of Mark that you mention sounds strangley similar to what goes on in Mormon Temples (no homosexuality goes on there btw). Along with other passages in the Gospel of Phillip and others. Perhaps they weren't included as cannon because the apostate church at the time was trying to stamp out the esoteric temple mysteries that Jesus taught? If so, how did Joseph Smith know about these things, since he had no access to these ancient documents? Revelation from God?

The scripture passage you indicate are two verses in a larger passage referencing marriage and divorce found in Matthew 19:1-15 and Mark 10:1-12. Jesus is pointing out that God created the relationship of marriage and that he wants to those who marry to be faithful to one another and to remain married. It is important to always take verses from the Bible in proper context by examining the entire passage. Also, eunuch's do not have the external genetalia. There is nothing gay in this passage.

It is highly unlikely that Jesus would have spent a night alone with, or secluded himself with any ONE person male or female. He did his ministry in the daylight, in public, so that "everything should be established by 2 or 3 witnesses" (at least). There are NO other recorded instances where he did such a thing. It is unwise to teach or build doctrine on a single unsupported passage.

I love men, but I don't feel the need to have sex with them, and sexuality is NOT something people are born with, but something that evolves because of a certain chain of events in early-adolescence

And BTW: Jesus is the co-creator of sex, but he firstly made it for the purpose of procreation, and secondly to strengthen the bond between a man and a woman.
Jesus did NOT have sex: NOT because its bad, but because that was NOT his mission on earth.

As a psychology major, I know for a fact that there are nerounal differences going on in the brain prior to birth between future strait men and gay men. This doesn't mean all homosexuals are "gay at birth," but many are. I don't have the answers to why God let this happen, but I really don't see a homosexual any differnet from a mentally challenged individual, not saying that homosexuallity is a psychological disorder, but an inborn part of the individual that cannot be gotten rid of.

i agree with you but when i took abnormal psychology way back, homosexuality was listed as a psychological disorder, that has since changed. i also believe that some people are born gay at birth just as there are those who are compulsive fabricators. but just because someone is born with or has a propensity toward something, doesn't make it right cuz its in the majority, nor does it mean that they cannot change. why god made a person that way i don't know, perhaps it is that person's trial?

Perhaps it is a trial. Or perhaps there is nothing wrong with something so natural to begin with. At least what I've chosen to believe is that homosexuality was simply a misunderstood concept when the bible was written. The people of that time didn't understand the difference between a homosexual act and a homosexual, yet made strong judgments I believe they shouldn't have made. Jesus had nothing to say about homosexuality and therefore I have no problems with it.

homosexuality is not natural. I say this only because such a lifestyle if secluded is not self-sustaining, thus not natural.(though this might just do the trick for china and India lol) if we look at nature, the animal kingdom etc. which is self-sustaining (in that they produce offspring), we notice no homosexual actions with the exception of a few anomalies. I agree, homosexuality may not have been a widely known concept but it wasn't misunderstood. what are the strong judgments? and

"Any child would say no" (Think about the absurdity of that statement.) Its quite likely there were homosexuals in S & G. But rape is rape. There is an extensive list of other/additional sins the cities were destroyed for. I'm sure you already know that.

But if someone has difficulty accepting or believing that God WILL change or heal them they will often try to find a way to live with the ailment or condition. So far "worldly" heterosexuality is the easiest "condition" to live with. A person who has a crippling physical disease is rarely chastized for not having enough faith to accept/receive healing. There is a deep truth God wants us to learn that we don't want to hear.

There are scriptures where God/Jesus healed lepers, and they were made whole. We could say that some of these may have had limbs restored. I don't know. I wasn't there. Your assumption that God DOESN't restore limbs, perhaps due to the fact that you have never witnessed it personally, does not make it true. I havent either, but if I had, would you believe me if I told you so? I don't claim to know why God does what he dooes (or doesnt do) but that won't make me question his goodness or ability.

The bible tells us that Jesus healed several people and even restored the dead to life. Many Christians claim that faith in Jesus can work miracle "cures". On investigation the "cures" are usually of psychosomatic illnesses or of illnesses which feature periods of remission ( TB for example ) or benign tumours misdiagnosed as cancer. Some doctors use Xray plates as evidence. Where are the photos or xrays of restored limbs?

The only proof I claim authority in is what he did in my own life. If I choose 2 accept those few miracles as the genuine work of God & give Him praise & glory for them, why should that offend anyone? When I stand before God, He will not hold me accountable 4 the actions, beliefs or failures of others, only my obedience. Nor will He ask 4 my critique on how he did as GOD. Don't let the failures of others keep you from success. He's calling me, AND you, to trust Him... Today. Let Him love you.

In day to day life it'd be better if God prevented people losing limbs in the first place than having them off then on again!
Maybe God does work to prevent such losses of limbs.
And many would say God restores limbs through surgery.
Jesus said that where people 'demand' miracles, none will be given. Perhaps instant limb restoration is too "magical"?
This reply is not an attempt to convert anyone's opinion but to put a bit of an answer to what is a VERY common question.

To Markv15: interesting point. If "God" is ALL powerful and infinitely loving and merciful, why doesn't he intervene to prevent the accidents and illnesses which afflict innocent people ( including babies who have NO moral choices )?

And if we presume that God, being ALL powerful and infinitely loving and merciful SHOULD prevent accidents and illnesses - especially of people who are "innocent", then He clearly even got it wrong with His only Son who ended up being crucified for doing "nothing wrong"
It's a complex world we live in and all too often Christians and non-Christians describe an over-simplistic view of what "God" SHOULD and shouldn't do. If He did what we thought He should, would the world be "fixed"?!

To mark1v15 if "God" created the universe and is ALL powerful, then he should be able to fix it. If he is infinitely loving and merciful then he should intervene to protect the innocent. If on the other hand he is completely imaginary and dreamt up by primitive people to assuage their fear of death, his inaction makes perfect sense!

As I said, I see that as an over-simplistic view of a complex system which people who claim to be Christians and people who claim not to be may easily share.
In practice, even if the world had a simplistic god-machine that always protected "the innocent" would it actually make for a good world?
If babies never got hurt, who'd hother to care for them?! What effect would that have on people?
.... as I said - it's a complex world!

I still think that if god was all powerful he could fix everything. He could make people care for their babies whether they get hurt or not. If he can't do this, then he is not all powerful.

I'm picturing this "all powerful" god who will always "make people care for their babies" - What else will he "MAKE" people do? Do I end up like a robot who has no choice in life? If the motive to act and MAKE people do things is "love" then is it love to manipulate and force your way? - in other words, whether or not "god" would act in such a situation is not only dependent upon whether or not that god would be "all powerful" - there are many factors that would weight such a decision.

I agree! But just cos you're able to do something doesn't mean you always will! There are many factors to consider and many ways in which something can be identified as "fixed". If nothing ever went wrong in the world would it be "fixed" or would it be a piece of machinery and nothing more?
The second "if" is not acceptable to many people who believe they have witnessed evidence of God active today.
