Well Michael Jackson was a hero in my eyes. He was forced to sacrifice his childhood for his career. He won numerous awards for his humanitarian endeavors, and was honoured by two Presidents of the United States. Jordan Chandler admitted to LYING about those molestation charges - nothing ever happened! Michael was committed to protecting and nurturing the innocence of children. His sensitivity is reflected in his songs - he inspires others to make the world a better place. <3 MJ

What is partisan about honoring our service people that give their lives for our country? Plus, I don't se her being critical of MJ but more critical of a society that treats our entertainers with so much more respect than those that give the ultimate sacrifice. I can't see where this would be controversial at all! It's just a great message that we all need to hear - we're all guilty of it. And she's only in high school? Wow!
@peaceflyer I think you may be the one who needs to do more research if a musician is your one hero, not the people who fight for us to have everything we have every day. Sure, Mr. Jackson may have inspired you and many other people, but I believe Ms. Mullen's definition of a hero is quite fitting.
@TheseStrangestLies what i hate,is people refer to him as just a musician. michael is my hero because he believes in god,he believes in charity,and most of all he believes in love and finding the goodness in others. while your picture of a hero may be a soldier,mine is the person who demonstrates love and compassion for all mankind.

I see our soldiers as heroes because they are the ones fighting for us to HAVE the freedom to be able to enjoy our music in the first place. But I'm not going to argue on YouTube. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I respect you for yours. The only reason I said what I did is because Madison doesn't deserve to be attacked for her opinion of what it means to be a hero just because you didn't like it.
