  • thanx einstejn. best tanya tucker tune.

  • my fav too. who played the opening Guitar/mandoline?

  • I was good then and it good now, You Go Tanya

  • Listen to this at least 5 days a week. Tanya is fabulous.

  • I had a massive crush on this woman when she in her prime.....I still do.

  • this song brings back some good memories, one of her best

  • Nice to listen Tanya Tucker songs.

  • Thank you for the upload!

  • this is a song i used to listen to over nd over on cassett wen i was growin up i love this song

  • Iam not a big country fan but I love this I brings good memoris

  • UKWelsh you are correct. Damn good ears no Weldon Myrick Johhny Gimble etc.

Good version yet where is the original?

  • whos going to fill there shoes

  • this is awsome

  • I'm 64 now. When I was a little girl my dad would call square dances and my first favorite song was "San Antonio Rose" from which they made a square dance song. Loved it when Tanya came out with this. It's nothing like San Antonio Rose but people who knew it enjoyed this one so very much.

  • Listen closely - this is a re-record ! this is not the original ! Nice try though....

  • I remember my dad buying me this album for my birthday, played the hell out of it! Dad never bought me too many things, but he did good on this. Thanks for sharing ;)

  • I'm 79 and grew up in country music! picked guitar for 70 years and a few years backup on live TV...Tanya is as good as it gets! She hits the notes that she goes for and sell the song....just right. The good counrtry id less than 2 1/2 minutes because a persons attention span is usually 3 minutes or less. The kids with the green and orange hair who stand on top of the stage monitors and belt out the same line....over and over for 4 minutes dont have a chance against the old timers.

  • she has a super voice...great singer

  • Tanya Tucker, one of my favorites.

  • I think she was 15 when she released this. She was truely great in her early years

  • I fell in love with this song and got to meet her at the LaPorte Co fair in the 80's she just had a baby but was GREAT!!!!!

  • Ah, memories.

  • 8 people disliked this video because the are stupid.

  • so true...i stand corrected..i surely thot it was someone else..

  • i love this song but.....it isn't tanya tucker.....still a great song

  • @leekey19848 ...uh....yes it is.

  • @leekey19848

How do you figure that it isn't Tanya Tucker? Sure sounds like her.

  • It was re-recorded for her Capitol box set.

  • Great song but this isn't the original 1975 version. She re-recorded the vocal tracks on some of her greatest hits for some reason that is unknown to me.

  • one of my all time favs!!!@!@!@

  • My mom just went into labor with me and I'm a blasian transvestite - I love this music and hate that fan-dangled rap mess.

  • Next year I am going to try doing a singing call at a square dance. It has been on my bucket list of things to do for years. Well this is my favorite singing call for square dancing. I haven't tried singing it since I was 13 and I am not 48. I sure hope I can do it justice.

  • Agreed! I hate the new country...gotta luv this stuff! I miss it!

  • lovely

  • lovley

  • This is my favorite Tanya Tucker song..

  • Tanya would have been a instant winner on American Idol !!

  • I beg your pardon everyone, but I'd just like to say that as of today:

6 people can't do the San Antonio Stroll. XD

  • @gg1158 away and finger your dog you fkn arsehole

  • just heard this on a country music show tonight in scotland and loved it

  • The song is from the Album self titled Tanya Tucker from 1975 which is correct, however this actual recording playing here is slightly different/ Tanya's accentuation on certain words, music is also a bit different than the actual recording from the album back then, I have still the cassette from 1975. Nice tune though, thanks for posting it.

  • i really love tanya tucker she is the best country singer ever :)

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • I like the original recording better. I'm not sure why she re-recorded vocal tracks of some of her greatest hits (with the original background music) for her later greatest hits albums. Either way, I love me some Tanya!

  • Remember the Sea World San Antonio attack by one of the killer whales? Then remember the follow-up attack at Orlando in which the whale killed a Sea World Trainer. Stay tuned, killer whale fans. And Remember the Alamo! where even Davy Crockett got killed. Just like reptile zoo owner Steve Irwin got killed by a stingray -- the Crocodile Hunter forgot to remember that even Davy Crocketts get killed when they wear coonskin caps.

  • im 17 an i luv this ............true country

  • I love this album of her's It took me years to find it on LP.

  • Is it Tanya that sings the song "Soon"? Been looking 4 it but no luck :(

  • @Tiggercz I FOUND IT ON LYRICS.COM

  • NICE ASS!!

  • Ah, such wonderful memories of this song -- doing the San Antonio Stroll line dance with Cookie at The Townhouse in St Paul!! Thank you for the wonderful times, Cookie!!

  • Super performance,Tanya at her best

  • she had quite a nice rear end in the day!

  • One of my fav country songs...one of those songs that brings joy (can I say joy?).

  • This used to be "new country".

  • Just love Tanya tucker . I can remember when I was little Me and my cousin,Damien.sang to Delta Dawn. He knew every word.

  • My dad used to let me dance with him to this when I was a little girl. He would put my little feet on top of his boots, Those memories are alwasy wtih me. Amazing how hearing a song from my childhood can make u either smile or cry. Sometimes both. All my memories as a kid are of listening to her or willie nelson and being with my dad.

  • @samhowell1 I am 12 and my dad all ways plays the old tunes like big bad john i love the old stuff.

  • Haven't heard this in years and it has made me smile tonight!

  • who the fuk gave this a thumbs down???? you're an a-hole!!!

  • Cool song,What happend to this kind of music. i realy dont like the stuff they call country music nowadays.Tanya, write some more of this real music.

  • I'm in love. If you're not you're stupid or gay. Not mutually exclusive.

  • @rhajamon

I'm gay, and I love this song.

    You're in the closet.

  • @DanielJerome what, LOL

  • My Daddy and I used to round dance to this song. I might have been all of 8 or 9. He started out having me dance ON his feet, then on my own. That is SUCH a special memory for me!

  • @drfreud65 oh sweet! My daddy used to do that also, sweet times!

  • Exceelent I realy like her gravly voice and this is a grate old song..Cool beat.

  • you got that right it's not country? throw it back

  • Amen to that. If only people like Taylor Swift would call themselves what they really are, pop artists...

  • Einstejn, thanx for posting this. I've always liked this song (I was only 7 when this came out), and for some reason it just happened to be running through my head just now and just had to get on here and see if I could find it, and lo, here it is!

  • LOL Holyroller, I agree with you 100%. I love punk, metal, ect. I hate new country, but I love classic country. You can't beat it, lol.

  • Great song. I thought it was earlier than 1975 because I went to the University of Texas 1969-73 and I thought I heard it on KVET. Maybe I did when I came back to visit in 1979. Beautiful girl singing it as well.

  • She makes the dream about the perfect woman come true!!!!

  • Briefly during the Urban Cowboy craze Gilley's started a chain. Sadly, it didn't last too long, just like Gilley's Beer.

  • Come to think of it dart1966man it was Mickey's

it was part of Gilley's(same owner). It was long ago. :)

  • This is good. Thanks. *****.

  • my family has a house in montreat nc. there are "square dances" there every friday night during the summers. san antonio stroll is one of my favorite novelty dances my sister and i always do it together! :)

  • My mom use to sing this quite well.I love this song. She would sing back up sometimes at Gilley's in Phoenix

  • Sexiest voice ever....no one even comes close!!!!!

  • one of the sexiest country singers ever!!!!!! what a voice!!!

  • The highest respect is shown when other top artists don't try to cover a unique performance. Thanks for this posting!

  • GO TAYNA TUCKER!!!

  • Favorite Tanya Tucker song. Thanks for sharing. I actually was a child down in South Caroline and still reside there.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • this is great. this is country. the new crap is horrible.

  • @Punkerbabi123 I agree.

  • i love the classic country i mean who likes that rap and heavy medal crap?

  • I love classic country, but I'm a huge heavy and death metal fan lol Go figure eh? I also dig old delta blues ;)

But new country is a blight on the human race....god it's awful :(

  • @xHOLYROLLERx

Yeah, today's country music is crap. It all sounds the same.

  • @xHOLYROLLERx

You might try listening to Jimmie Rodgers (not the guy who was popular in the '50s and recorded "Honeycomb and "Kisses Sweeter than Wine". I mean the guy who was known as "the Singing Brakeman" and recorded back in the '20s and early '30s.).

  • @xHOLYROLLERx See... people criticize me for that -.- im HUGE on death/heavy/black metal (mainly old stuff when it was fun)... especially Thrash (when it was good in the 80's as the other genres :P)... and people bitch at me because im some kind of poser for not liking only THAT type of genre... they need to go fuck them selves sometimes -0-

  • @xHOLYROLLERx I love all good music from Tanya Tucker to Godsmack and avenge 7fold and Disturbed to Catholic & Christian music. :) It takes all kinds my friend :)

  • uh...I do. your point, besides ignorance?

  • quit trying to b an ass!!!!
