to me a stiff arm is when you push the defender out of the way with your hand while runnig with the ball, and grabbing the facemask is not illegal if you're th ball carrier.

in a stiff arm either you will, miss, make contact, make contact and push the defender away , back, down, or up, or you will mess up hurt your arm from the denfenders helmet or body

@icecru2 fail...if you try to "push" the defender you will get tackled...a stiff arm is essentially a open handed punch, and if its timed right you'll knock the defender on his ass. and yes it is illegal for a ball carrier to grab the face mask of the defender.

@Fvantagio15 nope, no fail look at guys in the NFL, some of their Stiff arms are Fast some are Slow.

I know what a stiff arm is. It is Usually a open hand punch with a raking motion. Or when a defender gets closer to you you stiff arm his Helmet or Body to buy more time to attain more yards.
