when you get the bnsf lash ups you never know. i was down in rochelle illinois last year, i saw a lash up of 8 bn, bnsf, and santa fe schemes, plus a rail link, NS, soo line, and emd. 13 engines total.
The locomotives that were not running were in tow, as they were not required to move the train. This type of line-up is considered a "power move", where locomotives are basically being taken where power is needed. The SOO unit aparently needed maintenance, as it was still standing by at Laurel Yard a week later.
Super video. Could feel the train rolling by. Also great info at the start. remember railfanning in real life can be dangerous. (Super with the flat cars in the front)
