  • Classic, beautiful song...

  • one in a million.

  • tammi terrell has a voice that would make you close your eyes and cry. It sadens me to have lost a jewel like her soo soon

  • Another Ashford and Simpson penned masterpiece! RIP NICK!

  • i think you misunderstood all that he was saying. of course it is about money no one works for free. but it was also about making good great music. not throwing something against the wall and hoping it'll stick and that is what seems to be going on now. almost everyone want to throw rap in their record ,maze, michael jackson and more of them and it dissapointed me because everyone do not want to hear rap and i did not expect that when i heard it after i had paid my money.

  • great song i am still in love with marveous marvin gaye

  • There was a album called "Marvin and his girls" But I can't find it..any idea's?

  • @kat89433 I own it in LP, but I don't know if it was ever done in cd. It has his hits with Mary Wells, Kim Weston, as well as Tammi. If you find it in cd, please message me on here.

  • where is the video of this picture?

  • @barron833

    there isnt any in existence

  • I,m only 19 and I LOVE this song!

  • @AtomicCrane

I am 54, and grew up with this music, it was an unbelievable time. Keep looking, their is a ton of great music like this for you to discover. I hate to say it but you got ripped off as far as growing up now and the music that is being produced today. Your music today is all about making money, and very little about artistry, and love. My nephew is your age and he listens to oldies too. I guess no matter what age you are, some people know the difference between art and money.

  • @jamesdudzinski trust me my man, im an old man trapped inside a young mans body :) I tell my parents I wish I could have been born in the 60s! lol i luv me some stevie wonder, marvin gaye, diana ross and da supremes, luther, maze and frankie bev, anita baker, smokie rob, the temptations, aretha franklin, pattie labelle and the list goes on forever. I grew up with my mom playing these songs on the stereo. Dont get me wrong, i like some new stuff, but nothing will EVER compare to these oldies!

  • @jamesdudzinski And do you think the music of those days was NOT about making money? Would RCA, Capitol, Atlantic, Columbia, Mowtown, etc. have signed any of these folks if they didn't expect to net a bundle? Or do you figure they would have given contracts to Morrison, Hendrix, Joplin, etc. simply because they were sterling role models with talent?

  • This is a picture from the footage of when Marvin & Tammi sung on the Joey Bishop Show. I wonder who has the footage. They were also interviewed and this was in 1966 before her collapse and brain tumor diagnosis.

  • one of the most beautiful thing in this painful world

  • Genius... by the performers and the writers.RIP Nick.

  • This endeavor is absolute genius in song. This song will always remind me of my childhood field trips in NYC. Nick and Valerie helped us embrace love much easier with their entertaining love songs.

  • rip nick!

  • Another genius gone. Rest in Peace Nick. Thank you Nick and Valerie for all your heartfelt soul and emotion and brilliance in your songs.

  • RIP Nick Ashford -- one of my all time favorite songs written by him!

  • R.I.P. to Nicholas Ashford, who along with his wife Valerie Simpson, wrote this song. Nick succumbed to throat cancer today (8/22/11). He was 70.

  • hybridD91-This person needs Jesus Christ let us pray that he or she receives Truth. The ignorance of people like this illustrates their demonic possession and love of satan and his works.

  • @truth1disciple You mad bro?

  • Fantasia needs her ass kicked for messing with these soulful lyrics.Cornbread & Collard greens my ass!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this song is representative of what LOVE is. Genuine love is truly heaven sent-lust is demonic and short lived. This nasty, filthy, adulterous, fornicating thing called love today is demonic lust. When we say a person is our angel understand what a "angel" is. They come to assist us and help us endure, persevere and overcome ALL the difficulties& hardships that come with living life on this planet called earth. A "precious love" is rare to find and keep today. Grow and flow with the one you LOVE

  • @truth1disciple "This nasty, filthy, adulterous, fornicating thing called love today is demonic lust" You aren't very bright if you think this is new.

  • wow itz all i say this song touches my soul my heart , real love thats what really counts. to love and be love thats the real deal ...............................

  • I'm 59 years old and this has been one of my favorite songs since I was 15. Really good music will never lose it's appeal or go out of style.

  • To ALL the youngsters that posted their comments (14-20ish yr olds) NOTHING WRONG with loving and respecting REAL MUSIC and like you all said you your own post, "bull shit music out now", "not that nonsense we have NOW" & "damm right i like this more then all them shit rappers" YOU ALL HAVE SAID A MOUTH FULL AND with THAT, I tip my hat to YOU with RESPECT!! I too love this type music and i'm 39yrs old! My friends too use to call me "old spirit", or "old skool". NOW they love LOVE these beats!

  • @ceijae agree with all (I'm 47) just want to specify one thing-

this ain't a beat, this is a song.

  • @giles422 - ALL songs have beats... either with instruments or voice - OR BOTH!

  • i KNOW WHAT YOU'RE SAYING. I'M 37, I'VE OFTEN FELT THAT I WAS OLD SCHOOL BEFORE OLD SCHOOL WAS "COOL". THOUGH, IT'S ALWAYS BEEN.

  • @MegaJaystar1 I used to get the same thing. I NEVER like rap. I used to get made fun of all the time. They would call me "old n(word) ears. Now I'm hot and people want to pay me to sing these songs. That's art for you. I will always be "old school"

  • @ceijae cool story bro, your just another example of the older generation's sense of Narcissism always saying the newer generation's culture is lower than EVERYTHING your generation or older put out

  • @ceijae I'm only thirteen & I totally agree with you on this. I was raised on this type of music. Kids my age don't know what they're missing. No idea what the word respect means. -.-
