I loved watching them and voted for them every time when it was on tv. Unfortunately I agree with Len. Tango's are slow romatic and dramatic dances. This was more like a tango/ jive hybrid dance.

@crazyloverofcats True, Tango is supposed to be a slower, romantic, dramatic dance. But they weren't given a slow, romantic, dramatic song. That's the thing that bugs me about len. He can't expect the pros to choreograph a traditional dance for the style they were given, if they are not given traditional music suitable for that kind of choreography. It's really unfair for him to judge and expect something from them, when they are given exactly the opposite to work with.

the thing that bugged me about len's comment is that it just wasn't fair. plain and simple. he judged their dancing based on the music, not the dancing. the producers choose the music and the pro's have to go with that.

They did do Argentine tango moves~ but they have to change things up to appeal to everyone, & to keep it "fresh." I love Argentine tango & I didn't really like this AS a dance, but I appreciate that it is for "entertainment" purposes, & can't stay completely true to Argentine tango. The music chosen didn't really represent tango, but then none of the music they've used has been totally representative of its dance. They did a good job with what they had to achieve.

Obviously this is not a great song to tango to, but I thought Julianne did another brilliant job choreographing it. I loved the crispness and precision of their footwork. They want to see something new & contemporary but with traditional moves, & that's what they got. I thought they did a great job too, especially working within the guidelines they had to adhere to. Excellent footwork, tango is a complicated dance with nuances & subtleties the audience might have missed otherwise.

The choreography had to be fast and "hectic" because otherwise, the dance would be completely off the beat. They did an amazing job, all things considered. Len should be commending Apolo for hitting every single step, because he had some really complicated footwork.

I thought it was a great tango for the song they got! I loved it. It did not have the tender moments you see in some of the other tango's , but the song never slowed down to allow for them. I mean I guess she could have put them in, but they would not have gone to the rhythm of the song. I thought they were great!
