  • look at these idiots defending the smart car haha the fucking thing landed on its roof that crash woulda paralyzed anyone in it. there not safe. get a real car

  • Nice goin you messed up a s-class

  • People probably look at this video and say "HOLY SHIT, SMARTCAR GOT DESTROYED." While it may appear that may from the outside, the forces that the driver and passenger suffered from the crash are really what matters the most, not which car looks better after a crash. Look at the results of this crash, and you will find the driver of the smartcar would of most definitely survived this crash.

  • No safety cage will ever defy physics. The smart car was driven backwards. It is the G-forces that killed everyone in it. I don't care if it only has a scratch on its bumper, the occupants are d-e-a-d.

  • @kpdsza Your ignorance is amazing. Research the results of this crash and not some purposely biased and edited video.

  • @turtleshot987 Fine, I suggest you buy one, save the planet, and let Darwinism take it's course.

  • Comment removed

  • @turtleshot987 While these "microcars" all get a "good" rating from IIHS ( their best) in offset frontal impact, you have to keep in mind that the impact is against a stationary object. Being hit by a moving object and being driven backwards increases the forces on the body exponentially. Watch the video entitled "MINICARS MICROCARS CRASH TEST FAIL CAR CARS AUTOS New Crash" by the IIHS for their explaination.

  • @turtleshot987 The thing to keep in mind is that there are heavier, safer cars around, like hybrids, that get as good as, or better mileage than these eggs on wheels. It seems to me that the definition of ignorance would be to shill for these death traps. You must have an aganda you are not disclosing.

  • It's structurally sound, and that's good but there's so much more than just making sure the super structure doesn't collapse. That crash does not give very much shock absorbing vs a normally sized car. That's why today's cars crumple. It absorbs a considerable amount of the impact. Also, that flipping. NOT good. Whip lash, more chance of hitting another object, all that movement allowing your body to be flailed more. The Smart car is not safe in a crash.

  • hahah! when it showed the above view i laughed so hard! that monster town car thing was like a shark bearing down on its prey

  • yeah that looks real safe...

  • the grey pixel killed the yellow pixel...

  • The force of trauma exherted from flipping over like that would pose you at a high risk of injury from having your head hit the window, roof, or steering wheel at high speeds. Given the official crash tests even state the air bag bottoms out... yeah. I don't see how it's that safe. I think it's just the EPA trying to push the IIHS to give it good reviews.

  • This is actually quite dangereous. Small cars like these can kill a pedestrian while being flinged over like a metal box !

It's not always the driver's safety that counts when you share the road where multiple type of people are using it !

  • Actually, I'd say anything vs an 18 wheeler is gonna be fucked...

  • Lets try a Smart car and a Hummer!

  • could you only imagine the g forces of slamming yourself forward then jolting backwards and the flipping your overpriced toy car around

  • hahaha

    1,500 pounds vs 4,000 pounds

  • smart car = ATV with a roof.

  • it got tossed like someone threw a toaster across the street. You goofball are just trying cover the danger of driving one of these pieces of #$@@ because you fools bought one. The smaller and lighter the car the worst in a accident, PERIOD!

  • in reality when someone falls and dies its not the object they hit that kills them, its the sudden stop. the reason big cars protect better is because they can slow down and reduce the impact our organs take. so whats the solution? we can all just buy smart cars and live happily ever after haha or slow or driving speeds which is the better solution

  • well after quite a bit of research i have come to this conclusion about the smart car. first thing is yes , it is a very safe car in terms of you can crash the thing at 70 mph and the cabin will stay in tact. that is way beyond what most full size cars will do. theres proof on youtube,go look it up , now here the kicker even though it is safe and you wont be crushed , the lack of crumple zones means your body decelerates too quickly , so your organs get smashed inside of you, thats the trade off

  • i always wanted a smart car and there safety is amazing. there cool little cars that are powerful through car wrecks. dont dish out because this car are really small and always asume that your going to die in one (NOT TRUE)... i am going to buy one soon and im impressed by them. very inexpensive car that will keep you safe.

  • And this is why I don't bother with those damn things.

  • Get the facts before making negative comments about the smart fortwo's safety!

Run a report on the smart car at the NHTSA site for proof!

Read the letters at safeandsmart dotcom for proof!

Example- F150 doing 45mph T-bones a smart car. Truck is totaled, smart driver is severely BRUISED!

Example- smart car doing 65mph hits a truck head-on. She breaks her wrist and WALKS AWAY!

More proof- auto insurance rates are low for smart cars, DUE TO THEIR SAFETY RECORD!

  • @pancakewafflebacon

I'll stop posting the truth when all the ignorant fools stop lying about the Smart fortwo! :)

The Real spam? All the inaccurate & ignorant comments.

  • @pancakewafflebacon

Your refusal to believe facts about the Smart car's safety is really annoying!

Why are you reading all the comments on the smart car videos? You obviously have never been in one. You certainly don't own one. Just go away!

  • @ragnapebble a lot of people watch these videos because the destruction the smart car takes is humerus.

  • @MoparTurbo05 the destruction is what?

  • I'm pretty sure if it got hit my a semi it would be ....... KA PLOOOOOT

  • To: sunnycloud69

What's your point? Any car would be flattened by a semi!

But compared to Any other small car and many larger ones, the smart fortwo is safer.

  • Ha ha, lool at that piece of crap bounce off!!

  • its like a mouse in a tennis ball it will not suvive

  • i have yet to see a side-impact video. i don't imagine the "smart" car would do very well.

  • If you watched the rest of the video, the smart car actually did very well. This crash test was performed BY Mercedes themselves to show that it is safe even against larger sedans.

    Get it right next time.

  • Yeah the Smart Car held up fine, but so would a tennis ball. If a mouse was in the tennis ball it would get killed.

  • @YoMomSaddam LOL

  • @YoMomSaddam show that it is safe even against larger sedans.

I dunno. Maybe the car was ok but that flipping and spinning can't be good for the people inside. I'd choose the sedan.

  • @YoMomSaddam Listen Fucktard, no matter how good the smart car crash test do good, it will get destroyed, it will get fucked over by 18-wheeler... ok?

  • @YoMomSaddam eh, I would still never drive one. See, in America, people drive trucks. My diesel f-350 weighs in at almost 5 tons. It would demolish a smart car if I I ever got into a wreck with one. I'll pass, and stick to driving trucks, thank you very much

  • WTF!!... All i saw was DUST!!!.... Drive this car if your really interested in being cremated. LMAO!

  • The smartcar disintegrated! You would lose you legs in a crash with this car.

  • the smart has a very sophisticated, yet small crumple zone. It is designed to use the crumple zone on the other car. Its well-designed head restraints minimize the risks of whiplash. the smart did very well in this test. the s class weighs almost 3 times more.

  • i do not like smart car i like my tahoe

  • "step aside, make way for the man"

  • bullet proof rolls is really solid.

  • for the price of these faggoty little cars 29,000 you are not smart!

  • I've got a Lincoln Mark LT that weighs around 6000 pounds. I wonder what it'd do to a smart car at 45 mph a piece head on. (Remember 2 cars colliding does not equal a solid object.)

  • Lincoln mark LT head on?...there would be nothing left to identify this smart car...just ashes

now head on against my F-350 King Ranch--

I think we would both just walk away with a few bruises&scrapes

  • lol it was like a toy car being tossed.

  • Dude is were not was

  • The smart car did well

  • I think the smart car died

  • and don't tell me I am talking bollocks - I design cars for crash worthiness for a living

  • are you all stupid? The fact that the smart had little damage and rattled around meant it absorbed none of the impact - have you never heard of crumple zones? All the crash force is felt by the occupants - which means you have high chance of your heart tearing off the aorta, brain haemorrages etc. The bigger Merc looks more damaged - but the damage is to the car not the occupants as the metal work absorbed the impact and deformed in a pre-designed way to dissipate the crash forces.

  • TO: filski666

    You're behind the times!

Smart's advanced safety features make survivability in a crash much likelier than all other small cars and many larger ones!

Your point about G forces is wrong- proven by "real world" crashes in Smart cars.

How do you think Nascar drivers walk away from worse crashes?

Safety cell roll cages like the Smart car!

Go to safeandsmartdotcom and read the first two stories for proof.

Go to the NHTSA site and run a report on the Smart car for proof.

  • @ragnapebble and when come to a sudden stop people get killed, which is true in any car. Smart car has virtually no crumple zone......thus in that sense it is more dangerous and other than making it larger, there isnt much you can do to fix that issue.

  • look at the state of the big car i think the smart did very well

  • Oh...my goodness.

I just decide to buy a smart car and my friends said that it is not safe.

  • @noelshih

    Your friends are ignorant!

They look at the size of the smart car and ASSume it's not safe. In reality, if you were to purchase virtually any other small car (Honda, Toyota etc), you would be less safe in an accident!

Read the letters at safeandsmart dotcom for proof.

Or run a report on the Smart car at the NHTSA site.

Then make your decision based on Facts, not some fools prejudice and fear!

  • The smart did very well cage did not suffer any serious damage. The only bad thing was the roll over

  • if you want to see a big car do the same have a look at the resolt of my car, ript my car apart.but my space did save me,into a tree...yes it did look like what below comment said.

  • at the end it looks like its 'break' dancing!
