  • Hi Betty, I dont have one of those corn stick trays, could I use somthing else? or could I use this mix and make a normall pan cornbread?

  • @billynightmare Yes, this cornbread batter is great baked in a pan in the oven.

    --Betty :)

  • Thanks Betty missouri boy here we like our cornbread and we like our hot peppers so this is perfect will try it for sure thanks again.

  • @TheMissouriguy I hope you enjoy it!

    --Betty :)

  • thanks for the seasoning tip. I will try these again after I have properly seasoned the new pan!

  • Betty, I was so excited to find the pan at a local store. But when I made these, they were tough to get out of the pan. I used brused on peanut oil. What did I do wrong?

  • @mlkrnb New iron cookware needs to be "seasoned." I have a Quick Tip on that in bettyskitchen, if you are interested.

    --Betty :)

  • Once again, Betty,- I have to say that I LOVE your southern style. Move over, Paula Dean! ;)

What a creative & scruptious looking idea! I make several variations of cornbread, myself, but this is something I have never seen. I will DEFINITELY be trying this one! ;) Thank you for the inspiration.

  • yum =)

  • Looks great!

  • @MeEatingFood1 She's a grandma??? Really???

  • do you recommend the peanut oil opposed to a vegtable oil or cooking spray?

  • @sdmomxs3 Yes, it makes the cornsticks (or cornbread) crunchy on the bottom, plus it has a high smoking point, and it adds some flavor.

    --Betty :)

  • Oh, looks really nice Betty! Can't wait to try this.

  • I want to eat that!!!!! OMG it look so yummy!!! I've never had a corn bread or corn stick before. urmmm.... betty, can we eat corn bread with other things besides butter?

  • YUM-O!!! Rachael Ray's got nothing on you! :)

  • Hey Betty! Thank you for another wonderful video! :]

My mom recently received some canned tomatoes from a neighbor and I was wondering if you could name off the top of your head some of your recipes that uses that. Thank you :]

  • @chiuchiutrain92 I use canned tomatoes in pasta toppings like spaghetti sauce, also in soups; those are a couple of things to look for.

    --Betty :)

  • what do i use if i don't have a pan like you have

  • Great idea, video, and smile! I may have to try these in muffin tins I have never seen a baking dish like that before, looks cute!

  • Looks good Betty-

  • Hi Betty, I love your videos, your recipes are so easy to follow and you always show food we like to eat. I would love to see more videos getting to know you and your family and your story as you seem really lovely people. So just an idea for a future video maybe! Otherwise..Love your Mexican food recipes!

  • Betty looks sexy and young because she controls her diet and exercises long term. Plus she probably consumes a lot of anti oxidants from her vegetables to reduce free radical damage from metabolism. Plus she has good genes. She looks just as hot as she did at 18.

  • @potyunbe how do you know what she looked like at 18? lol

  • You can find those pans in any southern lady's cabinet :) ha my mom hasn't used hers in forever I might have to remind her, but I usually like my corn sticks/muffins with yellow corn meal. Either way I looove cornbread hot out of the oven!

  • HAH, we have those pans! They're SO heavy...cast-iron. I love the idea that I can break them out for this recipe. They're neglected at the bottom of our cabinet.

  • Looks yummy indeed; I love cornbread too.

  • Oh how I love corn bread. I discovered it after watching your cornbread videos Betty. These look mouth watering. I don't have one of those corn pans, will a muffin tin work? Or can I use something else

  • This looks so good! thank you for sharing!

  • So easy! I think I already have all these ingredients minus the pan... Thanks, Betty! <3Ro

  • where did you get a baking dish like that?!!! I want one :)

  • @maplepoon If you have an Old Time Potery in your area, they carry them there. or just Google cast iron skilletts , you`ll find one.

  • @MsChopperdog We dont have Old Time Pottery here in Calgary. But we do have the 2nd busiest mall in Canada near our place Im sure one of the kitchen places would have those :)

  • @maplepoon Yay for Calgary!!!!

  • Cornbread = a Southern Favorite! :) I used 2 have 1 of those cast iron stick pans but I don't anymore. I need 2 get me another 1. I used 2 have alot of cast iron 4 cooking that had been seasoned, oiled etc & burnt 4 good cooking. I still have my fav cast iron skillet that I use 4 cornbread often. My son-n-law would prolly like these corn bread sticks with the pepper jack cheese n them bein he is Mexican & luvs spicy food. Have 2 try this 4 him sumtime after I get me a new cast iron stick pan :)

  • Betty, where can I buy that pan?

  • Did you try the dip yet?
