These facts indicate that Trimbach had a thirst for blood and the destruction of Indian lives. They also prove his propensity for not telling the truth, even under oath. The Indians had a right to be on the Jumping Bull property and they were not engaged in unlawful activity. There was no evidence that they either provoked an assault or were the aggressors in one. Trimbach doesn't talk about the suspects in the case who were never investigated that bragged about killing the two FBI agents.

This is not a challenge, in any way, I just honestly want to know what you think about Kamook testifying that she and Anna Mae were present when Peltier admitted he shot them as they were begging for their lives.

Do not be taken in by Robert Redford's Incident at Oglala, a shamelessly falsified account of what happened that day. As Dino Butler said, there was no Mr. X. It was all made up to fool people like Redford, Oliver Stone, and Peter Matthiessen. All three of them fell for it, to the eternal detriment of their reputations. Do you think Peltier cares? He remains an unrepentant killer, more like Custer than Crazy Horse. And how dare Mr. M denigrate that great warrior name by likening it to Peltier.

He really did shoot those men at point-blank range. Wish it weren't true, but it is. Wish he was contrite, but he isn't. His chance for parole has come and gone, all because a bunch of liberal white lawyers talked him into donning a make-believe personality, thereby virtually guaranteeing that he will spend his final days behind bars.

Every judge who's reviewed the case agrees with the verdict & the crucial piece of evidence: a shell casing found in the car trunk, matched to Peltier's weapon. His lawyers have never been able to refute that in court.

Most important, Trimbach doesn't say 1 word about the exonerating evidence: the ballistics evidence proves Leonard Peltier did not shoot the agents. Trimbach doesn't want Peltier out because Trimbach lied about many things and was later removed from the case by his own agency. He was the problem. Was he the one ordered the two agents to go there that day, knowing a court of law ruled the Indians were not engaged in unlawful activity and allowed to be there? 3:07... thats not how to set up a defensive position. it must be hidden. almost invisible from even 20 yards! and be careful about cutting tree branches and bushes. enemy snipers look for movements like that. that missing branch or bush will alert him because he saw it 30 minutes before! remember, hes watching a wide area of terrain. the slightest deviation could clue him in! and hes got good binoculars too!

The Gov will always try to prevent that, just like in the 70s. They will either get people who are vulnerable within the community to stir up trouble or they will simply plant people to start trouble internally. That's how they stir up trouble. They try to get people from within to do their dirty work. When people lack integrity that's what happens. Plus, everyone knows about BIA problems. The mr. X spoken of did do the killings. He was a trained sniper who did 4 force recons in VN. He came in and wiped them out. He told me the story himself.

I am in the process of reading the book and reading Peltier's transcripts online and have been reading about this for years. I have a question for letstalkaboutstuff. This is not a challenge, in any way, I just honestly want to know what you think about Kamook testifying that she and Anna Mae were present when Peltier admitted he shot them as they were begging for their lives.
How do you explain that? Do you think Kamook was lying? I'm just trying to figure out what to believe.

Maybe it is not so much of what I have already posted, for some issues, but perhaps what I have never stated. As for Nichols, yes, I have an opinion, but it's just that; an opinion. I think it's a well thought out one, but just the same, I have one.
This situation was a messy one. Keep an open mind the more you learn. There are good guys and bad guys on both sides.

The tragedy depicted here is not unique to any particular people or culture. My ancestors are Irish, they knew the hate of the English first-hand. They were stripped of their religion, language, culture, livihood...and ultimately their lives (Famine).
In no way do I state this to diminish the tragic injustices perpetrated against other people(s), only to declare our commonality, our shared pain has made us brothers and sisters. God Bless.

Ahhhh, Cetanie laddie, but the facts speak for themselves. Peltier's own words speak volumes. Every judge who's reviewed the case believes that Peltier is guilty. He really did shoot those men at point-blank range. Wish it weren't true, but it is. Wish he was contrite, but he isn't. His chance for parole has come and gone, all because a bunch of liberal white lawyers talked him into donning a make-believe personality, thereby virtually guaranteeing that he will spend his final days behind bars.

Watch the youtube, In the Spirit of Coler and Williams, and ask yourself one question: Would an innocent man need to change his story as many times as Peltier has changed his? Freeing this unrepentant killer would be a travesty of justice and make a mockery of genuine Indian sacrifice and heroism.

Yes, time for leadership, wisdom, but truth matters. Facts, too. 2 young Agents with sidearms (shotguns locked in car trunks) hardly makes for a second coming. Obviously not expecting a gunfight, nor did they know fugitive Peltier was there. In fact, as radio calls showed, they did not know who opened fire on them. Could you identify someone at 200 yards? Peltier admitted he thought they were there to arrest him. The evidence points a finger at Peltier. Guilt has everything to do with it.

Fact: Where was the guilt at Wounded Knee? So, really, does guilt have everything to do with it? What about Randy Weaver's wife in Idaho and the FBI agent who sniped her. Guilt? Give me a break! Who was punished and imprisoned then?
"Rifles" being locked in the trunk is immaterial. Young agents are no excuse. The situation was volatile and should have be handled accordingly. Once the first round was fired, the engagement began. And as I said, there are no rules.....

Truth matters? Who's truth? That of the conquered people or the conqueror. Was it rifles or shotguns in the trunk? Rifles make a difference at 200 yds, shotguns won't. Casing in the trunk? Who knows the truth whether it was planted or not? Evidence does not necessarily mean truth. I try to look at both sides objectively, but when Feds get away with murder and perjury, there tends to be a leaning toward the other. If you get a chance, read some of Gerry Spence's books.

Leonard Peltier is guilty. He opened fire on those agents thinking they were there to arrest him (his own words.) The agents were looking for someone else. Armed with only their pistols (rifles in their car trunks), no match for Peltier's AR-15, later fired at point-blank range. Every judge who's reviewed the case agrees with the verdict & the crucial piece of evidence: a shell casing found in the car trunk, matched to Peltier's weapon. His lawyers have never been able to refute that in court.

"Wasichu" I heard that word in Federal Prison. It wasn't used in the context as described on the web.
I met Mr. Peltier and heard him use the word. He laughed when I asked its meaning. He didnt say.
I was told by a PHS official. He spent many years on reservations and converses fluently. He told me it was used as an insult toward whites in general.
Indians I encountered used it in that context. Body language don't lie! Even if you don't know the meaning of the words!
