  • @beast12101: You don't have to be an ass, I was just asking if you could put it in the description.

  • @TheOneZenith I apologize but do you know how many times I get asked questions that can be solved by 2 seconds on google. I bought the product at a local sporting good store, gave my opinion on it, I dont own the company, to find out the website I would simply google just as you would.

  • So you could attack the Dirty Bag to so a platypus, or what ever bladder you wish, correct?

  • @NitroAnon its pretty universal, just get creative

  • @beast12101 Well, I was looking into some water packs and filter systems and decided to go with a platy big zip and a sewer filter system so would these two fit together with out much work? Also do you have any suggestions for carbon filters or anything taste improving hook up?

  • @NitroAnon yes it will work, in fact that is the very setup I run, the sawyer 3way comes with fitting to slice into any bladder hose, I dont use any carbon filter, usually that for removing the "city water" taste in water, or swampy water. what area are you in? My camelbak system with inline filter only does 300L but has carbon element in it, I should do a video on those any way.

  • @beast12101

Well the carbon filter was more of luxury :P. I'm currently residing in Virginia.

  • @NitroAnon i did find an inline carbon filter at REI for 14 buck from Katadyn

  • @beast12101 Same one I found too! I'll give it a try if I need it but I wont jump the gun just yet.

  • @NitroAnon just put a vid up on it

  • Very nice. Would you consider posting a link to the manufacturer's website in the description?

  • @TheOneZenith you mean when you google "sawyer water filter" you dont find their website?

  • I have this filter on order. From the specs and reviews, it really looks like pumps pale in comparison. I have the MSR Miniworks and the Steripen Classic. I won't get rid of my Steripen, as it is great for travelling abroad or on the fly. I also have the Aquamira Pro as an emergency for my bug out bag.

However, for around $40, this is clearly the best filter by far! Can't wait for it to arrive.

  • Is it difficult to dry out the filter so it doesn't freeze?

  • @MikeSkiera havent had it out this winter yet

  • Works like a beer bong getting the air out. Very nice. I didn't get the Sawyer bladder bit it works great with oher bladders as well......

  • @SurvivalWeekly very versatile

  • I just ordered some. Thanks for the comprehensive video.

  • Thanks for posting this review.

This looks like a great system. I have been considering the Sawyer stand alone 0.02 micron viral filter for a DIY gravity filter system. The area I mainly hike in has a lot of agricultural run-off so I want the extra protection. Plus you can't beat the one million gallon guarantee.

  • Hey just a thought. How do we know that this filter or any is really filtering like it says? Nice system though.

  • Great review Beast!!!!

  • thats a great gravity water filter system. it looks like it flows a little faster than my katadyn base camp gravity water filter. how much water can it filter before changing the filter out? i think i will get this one for my wife. i would like just the filter. i have all the bags and hoses. thanks great great video. 5***** can you just fill the bag with unfiltered water and attach the filter to the drink tube with that lock valve on it and drink straight from the filter and not a second bag?

  • @FixedByDoc yup, look at REI,for the three way version. no changing the filter out, no need.

  • @beast12101 i will. seriously considering the filter by itself as a secondary backup.

  • very nice beast. As usual very informative and useful for us out in the "real world". Be safe out there sir!

  • really nice review.....

    AmericanSurvival101 dot com

  • Great review after I got the Katadyn base camp lol Now question taste one pro with the base camp it has carbon in filter to handle taste I don't believe yours has that feature

  • @medicjimr once i got the new bladder, plastic flavor out, it was fine. But no carbon, I think the filter would outlast the carbon element. I shouldnt ever have to replace this filter

  • @beast12101 I am sorry I was referring to flavor of water from high mineral content or something of that nature

  • @medicjimr i still like the katadyn best because i already have all the other katadyn products that are interchangable like you. but i am considering this one for the wife and as a backup. just the filter nothing else cause i think it is interchangable with the hoses from ours. what do you think jimr?

  • Great review Beast. I have the same Complete system and it's great.

  • @softairguy65 nope, its just a filter

  • Beast my speakers dont work so the white is the filter and the blue is the bladder??does the blue come with the set up?

  • @themedicintraining depends on which version you buy

  • @beast12101 this version

  • Not sure if I missed it or not, but can the cartridge be opened a cleaned (like a hiker pro), or can it only be backwashed?

  • @MorgantownUL nope, shouldnt need cleaning, million gallon guarantee

  • @beast12101 Yea I saw the guarantee. I'm just wondering if the the filter can be cleaned in the field if it did get clogged in the field. I usually carry small bottles of aquamira in case I get a clogged filter. If it can be cleaned in the field, that is a plus. If not, then I would have to rely in the aquamira drops and send the filter for an exchange when I got home.

  • @beast12101 I'm just hesitant to purchase if the only means of cleaning is the backwash. I would like to buy just the cartridge and hook it up to a DIY gravity system to save some ounces. I think I could get a rig under 4 ounces. Do you know of where to buy the filter with the threaded ends instead of the male/female ends (like you mentioned in your video)?

  • @MorgantownUL I just dont see it being an issue, this is from there website

"Q. Is it going to get clogged while I'm out on a trip?

    A. Even with very high particulate /turbid water you should get 5 to 10 gallons through the filter. If this is not enough water for your trip you should either plan on field backwashing your filter."

  • What if you just got the 4 liter and didn't fill it all the way?

  • Very cool I'm glad you did this video. I've been looking at this system. I think I'll pull the trigger on it now.

  • What about the filters again. Not sure what they cost and how often to change them.

  • @fatbob1950 million gallons, no joke check their website its great
