  • go the dude with the phat pants

  • the only video except for the one the guy in the background is filming....

  • @loskamp2006 its not on the net though is it? think for 2 seconds.

  • this Century was featured in High Performance Imports issue 78

  • Forget HP, what was the torque figure???

  • @jeffdaharper i'm actually not 100% sure so wont comment...and I have since moved from Australia where the owner of this car is situated.

  • @Shrike2415 you still have zero idea what you are talking about in regards to this car (which is regarded as the rolls Royce or Bentley of japan)...as I have said this is a luxury vehicle which is producing that HP at insanely low revs, the suspension and whole setup is made for smooth acceleration, very little noise and comfort.

  • @wolfie83 I was talking solely about the engine itself...

  • @Shrike2415 the engine itself is designed for comfort, if you have a quick throttle that launches like a bat out of hell eleventy billion HP then a president is not going to be comfortable, you have a smooth power curve at low revs with the rest of the car designed for that purpose and its one of the best engineered V12's on the planet.

Not everything is about bulk horsepower, and these engines have proven them self in that respect...just google "top secret v12 supra".

  • @wolfie83 it also affords the driver the power to get away when the jihadis are trying to detonate the bomb vests

  • @sausageslaps very true. reminds me of a joke a friend told me:

a friend of mine started a new business. making mines that looked like prayer rugs.

business is great. prophets are going through the roof"

  • @wolfie83 dw his got no idea about engines or power...at what rev was the 245rwhp recorded at? btw im on supraforums too :)

  • @Alpin3SS 5000rpm IIRC

  • 245HP out of a V12 is pretty sad...

  • @Shrike2415 you have no idea what you are talking about.

  • @Shrike2415

Well new the engine has 280hp. same as the bmw 850i v12 when new it had just 280hp. V12 are the smoothest piston engines you can put in a car and best balanced. So when you want the torque and power of a V8 but with out the vibrations or the loudness then use a v12. I have a Mercedes Benz Cl600 and I love how smooth that engine is compare to my friends SL55 amg.

  • raver pants!! hahaha!! what a fucking queer!!

  • @flowback101 lol we gave him so much shit for wearing them :-P

  • @flowback101 ..jealous.

  • @sahand17 of raver pants? hahahahahaha!! sorry bud, not me.. im not sure which is worse, raver pants or saggin. I bet you sag ur raver pants.. hahahaha!

  • Japanese cars > all.

  • that guy has stupid raver douche pants on

  • I'm just gonna throw this out there and say it's possibly mechanic overalls...

  • do it ourself for the most part, its a typical combustion engine so if you've worked on one you can pretty much take that to any car since every engines basic principle is the same (just have a service manual from toyota handy).

  • Which country is here?

By the way,my relative owns a Toyota Century,it made in 2001.

  • australia, says if you clicked my profile :)

i dont care for them myself, they are pretty ugly and not my demographic for a car...but the engine is cool.

  • Toyota Century is my dream car too, although Century spends more petrols.

Is it difficult to repair in Australia? We live in hk,my relative usually employs a maintenance staff from Japan.

  • Which model year is it?

  • Have to love the Toyota, the best cars in the world.

I have owned a BMW 750i & a Toyota Celsior (Lexus LS430) & I can say the Toyota shat all over the BM.

Building a Lamborghini Countach Replica & installing a Toyota V12 in to it, most of my Friends in the UK have installed the BMW V12 in their replicas. because they are cheap, but heavier & they cost a fortune to repair

Toyotas are easier to repair & the costs are a lot cheaper then any other car I have owned in the past 25 years.

  • yes i love toyotas!

  • Lol!

Lexus's are boring pieces of shit

  • Comment removed

  • @Elexceed The only with Japanese cars is they are offensively bland and awful to look at, they are also totally style free and make you suicidally bored after a few weeks of buying one.... German stuff is unreliable, overpriced and overrated but at least they are interesting!!

  • @Elexceed + theres a gazillion parts avalable for them :D

LONG LIVE THE CARS THAT WILL SURVIVE THE APOCALYPSE!!

  • Still rather have an MB S-Class, 97% of governments use S.

  • This car will crap all over the S class. This is on par with the Maybach.

  • dont know how meany other auto makers would give you a an owners manual and a book containing the master craftmen signitures involved in the making of that perticular car.

  • i would think for reliability they would just keep the engine in a low state of tune

  • dieselmtdkid look up the top secret engineering v12 supra. its still a century motor but makes way more than 245

  • stock ECM is holding it back

  • Toyota did not build these to compete with any other maker, they are simply a matter of pride for toyota, very few were built and they were not after profit, just an example of superb engeneering, a flagship to be proud of.

  • good reply.

  • Why are you speaking in past tense. They still make these now.

  • I am aware of that.

  • really? is that so? how is the engineering compared to a DB-V12 or a Jag-V12? Or a Bentley-V12? Interior Materials?

I wish we had them here....they are so simple and therefore eternal in their design...

  • /ban.

if you're dumb enough to ask that then i dont have time to waste typing out a decent response. short and sweet, its a farking jap limo, not a ferrari sports car.

  • PS. it made that HP at the RPM most supra start spooling their turbo.

  • Why would you ban him, its a serious point, this car has a 5.0L V12...An older 1995 BMW 750li has a 5.0L V12 and puts out 322HP

  • well their are 16 cylinder cars from the 20's that shit all over these and make less then 100hp...you, myself and most on youtube would not be able to afford nor maintain one.

youtube is full of morons, the less i have responding to my videos the better.

  • Yes but this isnt a 16Cyl thats from 1920. And I'm pretty sure what I drive right now is a little harder to maintain than this

  • considering your name you probably drive a skyline (so no doubt you have alot of maintenence with a crappy RB engine), this is a luxury barge, it has nothing to do with performing massive HP, its about comfort for the client you are driving...the royal family of japan drive around in these things, which says alot about the type of people toyota market them to.

But these engines can make bulk HP, do a search for the Top secret 1GZ supra. :)

  • weak #'s for a v12

  • ummmm i wouldnt know, its a luxury car not a race car.

  • Awesome vid. The car and engine is not about real power. I saw one Century in Australia. Not sure if the owner was Japanese but my best bet that it was an ex-diplomat car. I wonder how noisy it's in the cabin.

  • there are a few non-v12 centuries in australia but this is the only v12 century in australia period from what the owner has found out...the others look the same but have a v8.

in the cabin you cant hear the road noise or the engine, so very quiet made for a smooth ride.

  • It has pretty good sound insulation. Find out more about the vehicle history. Could have belong to a very very important person :)

  • was just a japanese diplomats personal car...guess it would cost more for him to take it back to j-land so sold it. The owner bought this for only $30,000. :)

  • I bought that in Japan for 31000000JPY, about 30000$. Really nice v-12 car.

  • interesting.

the famous car critic in japan was saying, "it's like to run on a red carpet". haha

  • That's a pretty quiet car...

  • you cant hear it come up behind you, joys of an expensive benchmark of toyotas luxury fitted vehicals.

  • Cheers to that! I drive a UF11 Lexus LS and it's really quiet as well; just a very faint grumble from inside the cabin. Not that great on fuel economy, though, and goes through oil faster than most sports cars :(

  • I'm mot sure if it'd wont this one or one of the 4.0l VG40s with Toyota's "Hemi"

  • the toyota "hemi" century, while they look the same almost the engine is shit and one i know of put a 1UZ-FE in out of a lexus to replace the stock engine.

  • Might as well replace it with a Chrysler 426, then...

  • why? a toyota 1UZ has more potential with less displacement and its FAR more reliable...plus its a TOYOTA century, not a dodge/chrysler century. :)

  • Haha. You sound like such an Import fan.

I like my displacement, and I've never really liked any DOHC Toyota mill that wasn't a xx-GE model. If I'm sticking to Toyota engines, Big Twin Turbo 2JZ-GTE, or the Nextel Cup motor, whatever that is. Maybe a built Tundra engine. If I cant' have wide-angle heads, I might as well have Displacement.

  • I am an import fan, I own a highly modded Mkiii supra with a 2jz power plant.

and the 1uz-fe is stock 6-bolt main bearings, has forged internals...and on the US supra forums one guy is building for over 1800 - 2000 hp so they can hold there own rather easily when unleased. Even using stock internals and compression with a NA-T setup you'll be making 800hp.

I like my old skool v8's (building a 340ci TT) but its going in a 1930's rod. :)

  • ....And I so friggin want this!!!! even quieter than Lexus's flagship I heard... would'nt even matter to me about the 30 hp loss, there might be ways to overcome that. i's retro classy, and little Pimp lol, thanks for sharing this video!!! I always wanted to hear toyota's V12 in action.

  • The only V12 car of Toyota the Century.

  • and how much torque?!

  • torque wasnt being measured at this event.

  • intresting, most dynos measure torque.

  • this one does but it wasnt apart of the day, this was just a club event.

  • 1gz ftmfw

    awsome car norbie
