Wow! You just brought back such good memories for me. I grew up in Kaneohe and we did our 4th grade May Day performance to this song. Each class featured a different percussion intrument -- uli'uli, pu'ili, and ili'ili.
I love listening to your songs on youtube when I have some downtime. Any chance you'll cut an album someday? Even if you offered some MP3 downloads sometime I'd definitely buy them!
I usually sing the first few stanzas without falsetto to gain confidence in my voice before I try to make the break to falsetto. I have used a throat spray called "singer's saving grace" to clear the mucous from the vocal chords before singing falsetto.
This is one of those songs that only uses falsetto for ornamentation, but it's fun to sing and it's about the town where my mother was born and raised.
Super!!!!! je suis abonnée à vie pour vos vidéos

Can you tell me where I canfind that throat spray?

Go to Amazon and search "Singer's Saving Grace". I recommend the variety with alcohol in it. I think that's a significant part of its magic. ;-)
