Half of you guys are jerks. She's a young girl (12 to 15?) who's living in a foster home. She's probably been abused, ditched, bounced from home to home, and never felt loved. Who knows what she's been through? Maybe she was emotionally abused or raped and they just didn't get to put that in the show because it was too hard to bring up in a kid's show? I know many teenagers who feel alone and worthless, most of them were abused and mistreated. Give Laura a break, you shitholes.
@StrawberryBoy100 The problem is how Laura is potrayed in the show (Ba Nee is the one I feel doesn't deserve people's ire) in which she is shot WAAAAY outside what you would call "Normal human behavior"
There are levels between "Hurt" and "Broken", but Laura is practically on another planet. It is why I consider her to be the worst written character in the show. When people act WAAAY more sad and crazy then they should it comes off as fake (Hense why people accuse Laura as Angsty)
@SaintHangman The problem isn't that she is sad, insecure, or a little bit crazy. The problem is the show takes it WAY too far with her crying because everyone is too talented and suddenly going uttarly insane within a few days.
"Alone Again" is really all you should take from Laura as it is the most down to earth depiction. The episode itself was like something out of Captain Planet.
Despite Laura having the WORST written character EVER in possibly the worst written episode (though not worst episode)... I have to admit this is an awsome song.
she's was normal looking, well accept her amazing hair (seriously, what shampoo you use, gurl?). I guess that's why I liked her so much. She showed that even the most plain of Janes had hidden talents.
@EzarikX Ignoring that she has an unrealistically low level of self-esteem (Really... this episode is horribly written. She almost cries because the Starlight girls are "Too talented")
There is some impression that she was recently orphaned as well as being bounced from home to home.
Though she is probably the type of person who feels alone even with other people.
What a beautiful song and when I was younger I was an outcast in my class and it fit me very much at the time. This was also very much one of my favourite episodes because of the moral of it.
what a beatiful voice that girl has, and the lyrics are so emotional. I have felt the way the lyrics in this song have have described before. This really touched me.
WTF did I just watch :/?

@StrawberryBoy100 Laura's in way over her head and she's lost her parents in a car crash.
I agree with you--all the haters' negative comments about Laura are just unreasonable.
Laura's issues run a lot deeper than not feeling like she deserves to have a happier life, and her music is probably what she has.

@Nionivek You're right. The storyline itself spiraled into something hard to wrap your head around.

This is a great song and one of the saddest I've ever heard. Considering it was used in a cartoon show, it's very sophisticated.
