To clear some things up:

1) chalking the cue after each shot must be a habit for every serious pool player and snooker

2) In important matches and in any matches at all no player once a miscue just because the tip was not chalked

3) Nerves - they are under pressure and because they chalk the cue automatically they may not notice if they had done already couple of times

4) If you are not certain about the shot and look for solutions, chalk up the tip and look at the position planning to make

5) remember that there may NEVER be a situation where there is too much chalk on the tip of your cue.

i would have to agree on that. that's how you play 9-ball pool. you do not get your jump cue, fire the cueball like a canon, and pray it hits the object ball. jump cues are for whimps.

Reyes should have been out at 5:20. It wasn't an automatic shot, but someone like Reyes should make it almost every time.

If he had made the 1 ball, he's got an easy shot on the 2 ball. Shoot a stop shot, leave a little angle on the 3 ball so the cue ball comes off the rail between the 7 and 9 for a shot on the 4. The 5 ball is a duck, and all that's left are easy shots on the 7, 8, and 9.

King, any half way decent player knows at the very least who Efren Reyes and I doubt anyone in their right minds doubt his ability. People fly from all over the world just to play this guy. any cue over 43" is legal ALWAYS in tournament play.some people have dedicated jump cues some have a break/jump cue that has an extra joint to make it 43' to make it easier to jump with. i know this to be fact as i have been playing pool for 26 of my 33 years and have played in fl. tour events and watched the pro's for years
