  • 1975.

  • The guitarist on the Les Paul looks like Bowie's Mick Ronson.

  • Mick Ronson!!! I'd recognise that black beauty anywhere

  • @bass234 Mick Ronson's on the blonde LP. It's T-Bone Burnett on the Black Beauty.

  • I live in West Virginia! Never been to Salt Pork tho. Great song, love ol' Jack.

  • I love the hint of New Orleans here

  • I like this singer very much!!! but his best song is "Honey, Where You Been So Long", or maybe " Arthritis Blues". "Why did the doctor looks said..."

  • you dam fools -my friend jack is still out there doin it at his age, and dylan too- and look my ol buddy t bone in the video!!

(...while you old queens are whining...)

shame on ya,now stow it, & wish jack a happy 76th birthday today!! michael in luckenbach!

  • your old friend jack told me in private that he thinks ur kinda gay, but don't tell him i told you

  • @desolationrow128 For the benefit of us poor old fashioned English; is being gay a bad thing?

  • @clean3 only in hilbilly circles; maybe it's a compliment?

  • @stjulienlepauvre I've heard that it's similar to devil worship, or worse, desiring state funded health care.....frankly, I think the English including countries in their empire that are at least 5,000 miles away profoundly far-sighted....Dylan is an exception and had the good taste to use a Welsh poet as a pseudonym.

  • sound like dylan on nashville skyline.

  • nah it doesn't, jack still sounds like woody, southern jewy

  • no, he does

  • no he doesn't, bob dylan was accused of ripping off jack elliots singing style in the early sixties, he completely changed his voice in the nashville skyline era and no longer sounded like him

  • You can denounce our opinions if you like but that doesn't change the fact that we're entitled to them. We all know that Dylan "borrowed" Jack's nasal singing style in the early 60's and changed it several times, especially on Nashville Skyline. All I'm saying is parts of this performance resembles Dylan's changed N.S. voice to me, regardless of timelines or influence, or whatever. Ok?

  • haha yeah ok, Jack Elliott does a cover of lay lady lay where he really tries to sound like nashville skyline dylan.

  • ramblin' jack sounds a lot like himself here.

  • sound like dylan on nashville skyline.

  • god I love music like this

  • yes strange

  • I love this song, this version and his acoustic ones. Does anyone know where Jack got it?

  • This was a song released by jazz/blues artist Louis Jordan in 1946, Jack claims it was one of the first rock and roll songs ever recorded

  • What's wrong with this picture? Look closely. Nope, not the crazy cowboy chaps. Nah, not the face-paint. Look closer, it's staring you in the face. Give up? Ok. Jack's playing an electric guitar!

  • For the first time in his life, by the way
