The sugar in fruit reacts differently than the processed refined sugar we extract from cane and other plants. The sugar in fruit reduces the risk of blood sugar diseases such as diabetes. Our bodies convert sugar into energy and if that sugar from fruit isn't burnt, it is stored in the organs and brain to aid in many body functions, before you spread false info, go and study nutritional science.
I m a vegan for 9 months and trying to get 100%raw step by step. i lost 5kg during the first 2 months. today i looked in the mirror after taking a shower(i usualy dont do that) i was shoked how skinny i ve become. i dont have a scale at home, but i guess i ve lost another 5kg the last few months. i became a vegan cause of the animals and i felt tiered all the time. i feel better now but today i was wandering if being this skinny can be healthy. i guess u r right in this video...
Paul, I've experienced everything you said even before i went raw. People seem to be confused how to build REAL muscle on a 100% raw vegan diet, which is what I do for a living (I train raw vegans to build muscle). I DO NOTY EAT ANY COOKED millet or anything and I know how to THRIVE and can easily stick with it, and so can my clients. I've been 100% raw since 1999 and 100% vegan since 1985 and I challenge anyone to prove otherwise. It is not hard to be 100% raw!
I'm confused! I have ulcerative colitis, I've started the raw food healing programme but David Klein tells us to eat mainly sweet fruit. s this just during the healing process?
Right. Exercise breaks down the body. Food and rest heals the body. Simple, yet so many people have a hard time with this. I tell my clients to NOT workout often but rest a lot and heal from the exercise to make changes.
hi paul, this was great to see today. i am totally behind the idea of choice and finding out what works for you. culturally, environmentally and socially we thrive in different ways and knowing the best combination of these three and how they interplay with making healthy choices for your body, is the way to achieve a good foundation for your body mind and spirit that you can maintain for life. :) thanks!
I eat what is considered high raw. I fluctuate between 70 to 90% raw. I LOVE fruit, but do not do well if I eat a lot so I have to be careful. I do smoothies, salads, and do some basic menu planning to rotate other veggies. Fermented foods are also great. I am a Celiac so I am gluten free. I do eat Amaranth, Quinoa, millet and rice both sprouted and cooked. I will eat organic, free range eggs as well as goat milk and cheese on occasion. Also, I will eat steamed or sauted veggies.
Isn't that called...starving...? because when you starve your body, it holds onto water especially when you're not drinking enough. & it freaks out & holds onto as much body fat as possible. Did you start to lose again right after you didn't eat for those 3 days?
The first this in We Love YAHWEH and His words,His son Yahshua Our King! we Strive to Live YHWH's LAWs!.Love Life and Our Neighbors! -- Bee Pollen , Royal Jelly. Vitamineral greens are little extra's ...We Keep It Mostly Raw! Kosher !
So i weigh around 75 kgs with a fat percentage of 3% body fat. My diet includes the most powerful foods avaliable to a people to eat and no it doesnt cost a bomb. People who want to build muscle should go on a diet similar to mine or any other raw food diet they like and use a program called p90x bodybuilding. Thanks the help i can give to people on getting in shape and being healthy and looking great. Also dont forget to drink lots of clean filtered water. thanks.
i drink 3 smoothies and have 1normal salad and 1fruit salad everyday. along with the best antiaging health supplements avaliable which have little to no side effect. I am a guy who is 5"9 to 5"10 inches tall and come from a east indian background. So i dont come from a line of people like germans who are generally big. Average height in my native country is 5"3 to 5"4 for men and most of them live on less than $1 a day. I am british so i do use this diet and you can get muscles, trust me.
I think that refined sugar is the most toxic commonly accepted food. That's just my personal opinion - well I'm not including food colorings, preservatives, monounsaturated, etc. I'm talking about what people consider as a "natural" substance.
Micheal Arnstein's only been raw 2 years, though he just won a marathon.
Most people on cooked have problems too. So maybe there's more to health than food. When a person does well with cooked grain and beans, it's because they haven't reached a high level of health yet. The detox would be overwhelming on 811.
Whoa Gary. Here is where I have a problem with most vegans, fruitarians, etc. You tend to skew information. It's not fair to say that most people that eat cooked food have problems too because most people that eat "cooked foods" are eating processed, man-made foods with refined sugar, flower, starch, butter (chemically enhanced), etc. I'm against grains in general, but eating some cooked food or lean cooked meat on occasion I believe is beneficial. Most people just don't eat enough raw.
I have to agree with you here Paul. I have experimented with many diets including watermelon feasting and high fruit diets. The best overall results I have had was when I was on very low sugar diet meaning zero refined sugar and very few fruits. I had mostly greens and a few carrots to sweeten my juice. I also had very limited leans meats.
all so true, I made all the overeating mistakes the first time I went raw, especially eating dehydrated raw 'junk foods'. Second time was much easier. I agree totally with the calorie remark, dont count them, they are a man made measurement that means nothing, calories dont take vitamains and minerals into account and they count the most... This guy is talking sense, I know from first hand experience.
i just realized that i have opened up all this food knowledge and included so many fruits and vegetables due to the info in the raw food world....food combining/herbalism/wild greens/sprouting etc are all things i ve learnt about over the last year and i am now richer for it....what/how/when i eat now is hardly an issue because the knowledge and awareness is what is really important!
I have been 100% raw for 14 years, my wife Minh has been 95% raw her entire life (60 years), and Minh's Mother was 100% raw. We are in great shape, not skinny and don't take any supplements. Thanks, Ronnie Skurow
And I agree that 30 bananas a day is not right! Now if I took a day to only eat bananas, then I would do that, but I would not make it a daily thing. Only if I was going to be very active for the day. But personally, I like variety and a diversity of foods both raw and cooked, as long as they are healthy and plant-based, whole foods!
I want to know if you think that by eating nothing for a few days I can do alot to help with healing and feel better? It is not a bad idea in my opinion to go a few days without eating to rest my body. I watched the other videos with Jordan Rubin that you made & liked how he talked about hoe Moses would go a few days without eating. I might try that to see what happens. I lost alot of weight be becoming healthy plant-based in eating. Still sometimes it feels like a burden to eat!
Hey,I'm about 75% raw.I usually eat 3 times in a day-usually 2 times fruit,1 time vegetables. If I want something more filling I eat some cooked grains instead of fruit. I'm tryin to cut on fruit a little bit and eat more vegetables, but then again if I want something more filling I eat cooked grains or sometimes meat, fish or eggs(usually that happens about 2times in a month or so). That's my diet in summer,I guess in winter I will have to eat more cooked foods because of the shortage of raw foods
I was 100% raw vegan for about a year, and it was easy at first, but then I gave in and started eating all sorts of junk. It seemed odd to me that the raw vegan diet would be so effortless in the beginning, but so difficult later on. This was a big indication to me that I was missing something important from my diet, so I now supplement the raw vegan diet with raw animal products, but only from animals raised in a humane way, on their natural diet (grass-fed, free-range).
For now my transitional diet is mostly big salads. Maybe 75% raw. I suppliment my salads and wraps with deer meat and free range chickens and eggs from a local farm. I also supliment with sushi and wild salmon occationally. All the non raw animal products are used very sparingly. I used to be a 100% meat eater. Now I am striving for health and I eat to live not live to eat. I suppliment with enzymes and supper foods as well as juicing lots of greens as well. I hope to be raw in about a year.
right on Paul! i did a video So you think your diet is healthy and I explained that eating 10-15 bananas is about 52.5 tsp sugar.. and so if you eat 15 bananas a day for 360 days thats over 18,000tsp of sugar. sugar really is bad and alot of people think that just because it is fruit it is somehow really healthy for you. Good video bro! :)
Im looking at an ape and it looks like an ape. Humans are opportunistic eaters. Apes by the way eat more greens than they do fruit. If you eat fruit you will want to eat more. It taste good for a reason. It is called sugar! Did you know that the ancient egyptians ate a diet high in fruit, vegetables, and grains and had terrible health? Remains of mummies will verify that. I did not say sugar was unhealthy, but I rather said that the amount of fruit people eat is unhealthy! Moderation is key!
Moderation means enough fruit. Many raw foodists are starving themselves on diets of very low sugar. Our brain and muscles need sugar. Of course too much is too much. But if you move a lot it's very unlikely that you eat too much fruit.
Your example of the ancient egyptians is ridiculous. So fruit and vegetables are bad for your health? It's more probably the grains.
Actually our brains need fat! We are fat heads. The Arnold Ehret Health Club has operated in the U.S. since the 1920s, so there should be plenty of 100 120 year old fruitarians running around. Yet, when I contacted the club, they admitted they were not aware of any Ehret devotee who has reached 100. It seems that fruitarian centenarians are rarer than Bigfoot! I eat fruit. I don't eat a fruit diet.
true ur brain burns glucose but sugar feeds cancer and disease, and u only need a very small amount of sugar the brain get first dibs on the sugar u consume and i belive the average brain burns 20 cals a day so you could imagine how people overdo eat the sugar / sorry not trying to attack you just trying to explain the answer to ur first ques./ but i mean eatting a but load of fruit is 100 x better than eating the S.A.D. diet
Apes eat mostly greens. I have also dealt with what you say about not feeling satisfied without something sweet, but the odd thing is that's when I'm being lethargic. When I get a LOT of exercise on a daily basis my cravings go a away. Are you getting a lot of exercise daily? I'm talking like 15 miles biking every day? We were not designed to be sedentary.
That's interesting. I had almost zero sugar or carbs for several weeks. I was biking 15 miles+ a day and running 2 miles on most days as well as lifting weights. I gained muscle, lost fat and had the highest energy levels that I have had in years.
The only fruits I had were lemons, limes and occasional grapefruit or apple. The only real sugary thing I ate was carrots and apples - carrots daily, but maybe 2 apples a week.
The high fruit diet was okay for me but not the best for me.
"Fruit tastes good for a reason" - Yes, the taste buds are telling us what to eat. Most animals, even cats, eat fruit. If you go into a jungle, you'll SMELL the fruit.
Any other food that tastes as good is a food that's been COOKED to enhance the flavor.
I was over eating on SAD and cooked-vegan. Now on low-fat high-fruit raw diet (1800 cal a day), I've gained a little weight for the first time.

Why is sugar unhealthy? Your brain works with glucose, your muscles do. If you'd only eat protein your body would convert it into sugar.
Look at the apes, they're eating mostly fruit and greens. If we don't eat enough sugar by fruit we don't feel satisfied.
