I have been using Carrara 6 trial and it seems great, I bought ver5 pro on eBay for $50 in order to upgrade to ver6 for $77 as a Platinum Club member. I have only seen the demo vid of Vue and it looked like it has some potential.
Both are completelly diferent software... Carrara is an all in one with model, uvmap, textura, bone animation and render tool. Vue is just a landscaoe generator and animator, the best one I know.
