This game shouldn't be called Resident Evil, when i was little child i was growing up with the Real Resident Evil series now its just...Capcom needs stop this now all they want is money.
Dear Capcom, I have an idea. How about Instead of being money hungry asses that keep dragging out the Action/fps Resident evil, How about you actually go back to classic survival horror. Such as a creation of OUTBREAK FILE 3? Or a remake of file 1 or 2? That would keep us TRUE resident evil fans happy so we wont have to play this horrid operation raccoon crap.

I miss the older Resident Evil with zombies. I mean, the fourth and fifth one was ok, but imagine those with real zombies, especially that scene in RE 4 where the house got completely surrounded. That could have been so epic....
they should remake RE3. but make it were a machine gun wont save you all the time =D. making it were you have to run sometimes would put some of that fear factor back into the genre... and jills the best! lol

So please quit complaining and just play this game until the big finale re:6 which will be the final battle between chris and wesker. Yeah i know game play has changed, maybe not staying completely true to the originals Horror like spirit, but c'mon. were playing the role of the most bad-ass bad guys in history, with huge guns, tons of ammo, explosions, and high tech gadgets in a city filled with zombies to play with? Lets make an exception, and just enjoy this game for what it is. I'm exited as hell.

I just remain optimistic about this up coming game. ill enjoy it for what it is, if it sticks to the original style or not. And Ive just never really been a fan of chris or leon... more a fan of HUNK, and his employers. I cant wait to play as Umbrella! ^_^
maybe the directors or the producers or whoever it is that makes RE series should sit in a room and turn on the playstation and go through RE 1,2,3 and perhaps 4. then make the games like how they used to last time. though i will buy this to see how it turns out, i'm still a huge fan of the old classic horror series. just my thoughts.
I can agree on why the original REs were more scary than these new ones, but I think RE4 was the best. Maybe not in horror, but it surely was a fucking bad ass game. I think they are all good, it's just that these new ones are mostly action, and it doesn't feel the same. Same goes with Silent Hill, but they are both the best either way.
@TheMultiverse666 Don't bring Silent Hill into this. They stuck with their twisted little minds pretty damn well and every Silent Hill game I play brings chills to my bones in some way. If people disagree with me, than you must not be playing in the dark with a wireless pair of headphones on to block out every sound around you and a nice tv screen to bring out the picture more. Just remake Resident Evil 2 for PS3 and XBOX360. That's the best of the franchise, and remake would be too cool! + Some new stuff like they put in RE1 remake for GameCube = a perfect game and it would sell a lot.. Rather than this shit, doesn't even look like a Resident Evil game. Same happened to the Silent Hill series.. what a shame.

wtf. its not even survival horror anymore. itl like freakin gears of war but with zombies. even re 5 sucked. i liked part 4 because it took the series to a silent hill like pase( the cultists, grey foggy environments, and the exploration.
I think this game might provide at least a little insight into what went down in Raccoon City, as Leon, Claire, and Jill obviously didn't see everything. Besides, we know the team messes up. I'm just intrested to see how.
And as for it becoming a shooter, well, they do have to compete with games like Halo and Black Ops for the attention of most gamers. SO, it's only natural they'd do something like that. I'm not happy with it, but I understand why they did it sorta.
I like the game idea but I hate the fact that its new characters. Its Raccoon City... Hunk is the fucking 4th survivor & was in RE2. They should of used Hunk & Apha team instead. Hunk was in Raccoon City during this time & he is also a Umbrella employee. Hunk better have a role in this game or I'm done with Resident Evil.
I'm glad to see for once a game company takes on fan video ideas rather than spewing out clone titles with new graphics.

Looks like this is really the final step away from the classic resident evil :( Playing overpowered Soldiers who use Zombies as meatshields and try to kill the resident evil protagonists is just stupid and boring. Why not a good old survival horror with the slow zombies just with a new setting. For me- that should do it.

@DarkKrost Resident Evil needed a change. RE3 was just okay, RE4 didn't even have zombies and RE5 was the worst one yet. This is what they need, online co-op with 4 friends while introducing new characters, customizable weapons, and in the favorite Resident Evil time-zone which was RE1 & 2 (they happened at the same time). This is a "What if" game. Like what if Leon never made it to the police station and what if Clair never met Sherry Birkin. . .So stop being butthurt and enjoy the game! :P
@DarkKrost Yes, people act like it's an FPS(First Person Shooter) when it's far from it. Dead Island is like an FPS. You can actually see your character move around in Operation Raccoon City, not just your hands and you have more zombies to kill then the originals, that doesn't make it a bad game. The graphics and story for the game are already good, and being able to play with 4 people online just make it better. If you wanna play the no co-op originals than go for it, nothing wrong with that.
@Jaydash1201 I agree, but this also works for other games and some people cry about that as well, for instance Dead Rising 2 Off The Record. What if Frank West was there, What if Chuck Greene was not there, What would happen with the whole game just with Frank being there.
@Jaydash1201 Not sure if anyone corrected you already but RE 2 & 3 happend at the same time, RE 1 was like two months before RE 2. Nice idea though, personally I'd kinda like to see a remake (in terms of graphics) of the first three Resident Evil games.

wtf. its not even survival horror anymore. itl like freakin gears of war but with zombies. even re 5 sucked. i liked part 4 because it took the series to a silent hill like pase( the cultists, grey foggy environments, and the exploration.

I think this game might provide at least a little insight into what went down in Raccoon City, as Leon, Claire, and Jill obviously didn't see everything. Besides, we know the team messes up. I'm just intrested to see how.
And as for it becoming a shooter, well, they do have to compete with games like Halo and Black Ops for the attention of most gamers. SO, it's only natural they'd do something like that. I'm not happy with it, but I understand why they did it sorta.

I like the game idea but I hate the fact that its new characters. Its Raccoon City... Hunk is the fucking 4th survivor & was in RE2. They should of used Hunk & Apha team instead. Hunk was in Raccoon City during this time & he is also a Umbrella employee. Hunk better have a role in this game or I'm done with Resident Evil.

I'm glad to see for once a game company takes on fan video ideas rather than spewing out clone titles with new graphics.
I've made the Umbrella Cleaners fan vid for an idea to have a full campaign just as the cleaners from RE2 and RE3. FINALLY my idea from 2010 is becoming a reality!

Looks like this is really the final step away from the classic resident evil :( Playing overpowered Soldiers who use Zombies as meatshields and try to kill the resident evil protagonists is just stupid and boring. Why not a good old survival horror with the slow zombies just with a new setting. For me- that should do it.

@DarkKrost Resident Evil needed a change. RE3 was just okay, RE4 didn't even have zombies and RE5 was the worst one yet. This is what they need, online co-op with 4 friends while introducing new characters, customizable weapons, and in the favorite Resident Evil time-zone which was RE1 & 2 (they happened at the same time). This is a "What if" game. Like what if Leon never made it to the police station and what if Clair never met Sherry Birkin. . .So stop being butthurt and enjoy the game! :P

@DarkKrost Yes, people act like it's an FPS(First Person Shooter) when it's far from it. Dead Island is like an FPS. You can actually see your character move around in Operation Raccoon City, not just your hands and you have more zombies to kill then the originals, that doesn't make it a bad game. The graphics and story for the game are already good, and being able to play with 4 people online just make it better. If you wanna play the no co-op originals than go for it, nothing wrong with that.
