This commercial is very eerie. The fact that it shows the WTC with a plane near is the freakiest. Then three years later, an American Airlines plane crashes into one of the towers. Very sad.
I already knew that. but didnt you understand my message because of that? Hopefully not. Maybe you are a new one because so many people here make mistakes. Do you know why? Not everyone is focking american. so shut up
I remember liking these spots when they came out, and I still do. The jazz arrangement of the "Something Special" theme is a nice touch, probably one of the last times they used it at all.
I noticed that. It's so ironic that they show numerous shots of the WTC on an American Airlines commercial. Who could've predicted the fate that awaited those buildings and this airline in 2001?

At 0:55. Do you think this 1998 commercial was a PREDICTION or a WARNING to 9/11. Weird eh,

@CubsFanJohn Ah yes. Flew over it on my first solo cross-country to KSWF, but didn't realise it's included in the 6

6 area airports. I can only think of 5. JFK, La Guardia, Newark, Stewart, and McArthur. What's the 6th?

I think American reused some of the shots in their post 9-11 campaign - a lot seem familiar to me

This was way back when New York was New York. As Jay-Z said in "Empire State of Mind", Long Live The World Trade! 1990s-the Golden Decade.

Note that the plane flies toward the WTC at the end.

That is rather unfortunate.
