LOVE IT!!! Gotta check out VICTOR FELDMAN.COM - very cool photos, video and the full bio/story on Victor Feldman. Also watch the new You Tube Video: SEVEN STEPS TO HEAVEN - VICTOR FELDMAN LIVE. Victor wrote Seven Steps To Heaven for Miles Davis in just one night in the back seat of a car. No Joke!! just one of the cool stories you can read on Victor Feldman.com. We Love You Victor!!!!!!
the two ronnies and victor how good can it get.these guys were world class.if miles and the adderleys were here they would tell you about victor.he left too soon lovely bloke fantastic player.many thanks
I saw Victor Feldman with his group at Ronnie´s club and Ronnie introduced him as "One of the best jazz musicians I know".......and Ronnie pretty well knew all of the best ones.......What a talent !! Sadly missed. I always look out for any long-hidden recordings or videos. Thanks for posting.!!!
How nice to find this one available. Thanks to jykds for providing some wonderful listening pleasure. I first hear this pairing in 1954 within the nine-piece band Ronnie toured with at that time. Victor Feldman was a masterful musician and Ronnie was there as an exemplar to us all. Thanks again!
While there´s many reasons to be underrated in jazz, being european in black american dominated business certainly wasn´t helpful. However Victor´s talent overcame all the obstacles admirably and he was a choice pianist for Miles. Cannonball, Getz, J.J. and others.
No dislike. Why then do people listen to Justin Bieber?

Now, now kiddies, stop squabbling or one of you is going to the naughty step. Play nicely.
Isn't it great to see this band in it's prime?
I saw Ronnie many times in later years, and still can't really believe he's gone.
There are people you expect to be around forever, the great Dick Morrissey was one.
We still have a giant from that era, the mighty Peter King.
Mourn when they are gone, treasure them while they are here!

His plying on the Shelley Manne at the Blackhawk albums is fantastic - also Kamucas ! But Ronnie here shows how great he was too!

absolutely breath-taking!!! it's a wonder why such talent is overlooked...
padleynj 3 years ago
Because he is British.
ivorbigunzz 3 years ago
what does british have to do with it? there are many musicians overlooked..for instance look at herbie nichols or bix beiderbeck!!
padleynj 3 years ago
Because the British people and media alwyays thinks the grass is greener overseas. And always underates its own home grown talent
Dudley Moore is a prime example.

Ever heard of Cleo Laine or Johnny Dankworth

And that´s not too bad in my book.
