Saw him in London 1972 at the Speakeasy. he had an album entitled 'Tony Joe White." Great album taken when I got busted 4 small amount of pot 1974!

So I'm at 3rd & Lindsley the openers just gone off and I'm makin a quick trip to the can b4 TJW plays. I walk up to the door and like 4 guys walk out. I'm ike is it crowded "No go on in" door opens and I hear "Yeah" and a deep chortle inside the door a Strat case and bottle of Jack. Daniels . doubt he is drunk,yeah his vocals are rough ,but that adds more soul and pain to me. also he wrote this song in 1962 so he has some age on him,maybe a long time smoker or hell just can't sing ,but what a song and his guitat is very soulful!SHIT DYLAN CAN'T SING EITHER.
