The book of Starship Troopers came before starcraft and starcraft even uses some of the same names as Starship Troopers. Zerg = the bugs, Tophets = Protoss, and Terran = Mobile infantry. In wikipedia it even mentions that all these games got their similar ideas from the franchise of Starship Troopers. Aside from that though Starcraft rocks anyhow and the gameplay isn't unique but is married perfectly in using the franchise base. Starcraft is still awesome.

i know without looking it up the original book dates back from the late '50, thats why i said that the planes, in the CGI series, are more based on WOII planes, then "modern" fighter planes.

and yes, Starcraft 1 & 2 kicks ass in the RTS world, its storyline can only be matched by that of ( westwood time ) Command and Concuer :-)

Quick question... why did the series get canceled? With modern CGI, a TV-MA rating so they could gore it up, and a little advertising... this show could be full of untold badassery. Wouldn't even mind a mini-series based off the comics they did. The Tigers and Vandals were some hardcore troopers.

Good point. Pluto does not have oxygen, so there can be no fires. Also the low gravity of Pluto is not shown in this. The hoppers should be doing MASSIVE flights and the missiles should be acting different to what they do on earth

pluto does have an atmosphere, a very thin one. that with the low gravity allows for the flying bugs, and if the bugs have some other method of generating cellular energy then lack of atmosphere won't be a problem.

As far as I can tell, it wasn't supposed to, and didn't make the laser stronger. My guess is it was intended to do quite the opposite, spread the beam to make it more visible.
