John McCain made 32 anti-American propaganda films while he was a POW. His code name among his fellow POW's was "Song Bird." The word from the POWs in his camp was that he would do anything and say anything to avoid being tortured. Sadly, his films have been "classified" by the US government, therefore, you can't see them, anymore. However, I recall the news at the time, which showed him singing for the North Vietnamese commies.
The fact is that not all the POW-MIA's have been accounted for. John McCain is a punk. That woman put him in his place. I'm glad he never became President of the United States, and I'm a conservative Vietnam Veteran.
John McCain is an idiot. He's the Manchurian Candiate. As far as I'm concerned, he was an ass and way out of line in attacking this poor woman, as well as the other folks wanting to resolve the POW-MIA issue.
John McCain was an incompetent aviator...that is why he was shot down. He collaborated with the Vietcong...that is how he survived. JOHN MCCAIN SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR TURNING HIS BACK AGAINST HIS COUNTRY....HE WILL SELL HIS SOUL FOR A VOTE, A DOLLAR, JUST LIKE HOW HE HIRED GW STAFF AFTER THEY DISSED HIM IN 2002.
What a traitor!!! And there are those who want to vote this coward into office? As Americans we should NEVER reward betrayal of our service men and women!!!
mccain gave away confidential military information to the vietcong, and his whole time as a pow when they said he could go and he refused without everyone else is a disgusting fraud, he is no hero, my father who is a vietnam vet in 1st calvary never got caught, mccain did and gave up sensitive information, mccains a coward
FOR ALL YOU IGNORANT AMERICANS....YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HOW THE VIETCONG DEFEATED AMERICAN WITH BAMBOO STICK WHY AMERICANS HAVE ACCESS TO JETS AND WMDS. EASY...ONCE THEY HAVE AGENTS LIKE JOHN MCCAIN, WHAT ELSE DO THEY NEED?
IMO this guy isn't in any way qualified having a rational nor objective discussion with the chairwomen given the fact that he has been a POW himself and by this, with his horrible peronality, narrowed his view on this topic. Furthermore, he seems to gain from the emotional state of the chairwoman which boosts his agressive attitude towards the woman as the conversation deteriorates... What a senile old dude... :-\!
McCain pointed out the entire Senate was behind the committee's work and only the Senate could authorize the committee's continued work on American POWs in Vietnam. He made it clear that the committee did not have the authority to continue on. Furthermore, he defended the work of a General who was an representative to the Vietnamese. The shutting down of a government program to find our POWs is bound to be controversial. I understand the emotional tone of both the speaker and the senator.
McCain played down overwhelming evidence of POWs still alive after the prisoner return in 1973 (radio intercepts, live sightings, satellite photos, CIA reports, defector information, recovered enemy documents, reports of ransom demands).
"McCain, at times almost single-handedly, has pushed through Pentagon-desired legislation to make it impossible or much harder for the public to acquire POW/MIA information..." (McCain bill in 1991, gutting of Missing Personnel Act in 1996)
McCain strongly disagreed with the speaker but he did not insult her. He said he didn't like her allegations about the committee's efforts or what she said about the general who was our represenative to the Vietnamese on the matter of POWs. He also said to allege a conspiracy with proof was irresponsible. How is defending one's self insulting?
