Actually, yes it does. This music originated from black gospel and blues. It is rooted in African culture and slavery (especially the rhythm on the offbeat (2&4) as opposed to European rhythm which is on the bear (1&3). Give credit where credit is do, but don't disrespect the heritage of African American musicians. This music existed in black clubs before white people even started going to them. I know for a fact that for a while, R&B, Blues, Jazz, and those old spirituals from our nation's dark history, where silenced and kept as quiet as possible for a long time.
