Can you comment on why the Langemark cemetery seems to give off bad vibes? I'm just very curious ... I have a great interest in WWI and hope to visit Flanders one day...
@buckie035 I can't seem to find a download of this version, but June Tabor does a version on her album Apples, available through iTunes. Hope that helps. :)
I saw the one man play at the E4 underbelly and this music was playing before it started and i keep coming back to listen to this. Not many plays have moved me as much as the ending of this one and the music before hand was just as fantastic. Thank you for uploading!
Hey ollie. there is something about this video that drags me back to it everytime. Its so emotional. I didn't know there was a play of private peaceful. When and where is it on?
I don't know about the one man play, but the next performance of Private Peaceful from which this song comes is 31st March at the Holy Trinity Church, Guildford. Not sure if that's near you. details on the Coope, Boyes and Simpson website. :-)
Ooops! Sorry! I read your comment incorrectly - I thought you said you were going to! I've got a lot of work to do at the moment, but when I get a bit of free time, I'll see what I can do. :-)
Would you mind putting more songs from Private Peaceful the concert on youtube? Or even sections from Michael Morpurgo's reading? Saw the one-man-play yesterday of Private Peaceful...absolutely loved it!
Yeah, go ahead. CBS are nothing to do with me, the music, the story and my own experiences inspired me to make the videos, so yeah, it's not my place to say no. The more CBS on youtube the better!
Truly beautiful and very special to me. My great uncle fought in Belgium - one of many Irishmen who fought for the British Army, was declared missing and never found. The Canadian part is beautiful as I now live in Canada. Thank you for posting this.

His grave says he was 15. I think he might have been something like 14 years, 10 months, but they just rounded the date up.

excellent photos and good choice of music.
Try and look up Sarah Morgan's setting of the Cecily Fox-Smith poem, "Home Lads, Home."
