  • Ha ha what's this vid about

  • @TheMegaRandomizer300 Mario Kart Wii. What else?

  • Lol 7th place: (.)Y(.)

  • WTF HOW DID IT GO TO THE WRONG PLACE...HMMMM???

  • Can you dodge a Blue Shell by getting a Super Mini-Turbo?

  • @deathboy126 I don't think I've heard of such a thing in this game. It could be done in Mario Kart DS with a standard Mini-Turbo though.

  • i use the wii remote and nunchuk because it's easier

  • wow you did really good on the flame flyer on grumble volcano

  • are you playing with wii wheel or gamecube controller? i play with gamecube controller its so much easier.

  • I've always used the Wii Wheel. You can tell after the end of each race because you can see the Golden Wii Wheel next to my Mii.

  • Race 1: i just hate the b dasher mk 2 its rubbish and u lost 33vr

Race 2: despite the flame flyer having terrible acceleration it is fast and u won 119vr

race 3: moonview highway is a bike track not a kart track shame u lost 26vr

  • Great races, Especialy the one on moonview Highway.... I think it wasnt fun to play, but its fun to watch anyway....

  • That made no sense: It picked Wario`s Gold mIne, but the race was at Grumble Volcano!

  • yeah i know seriously

  • What kart r u using?

  • For which race?

  • The first one!

  • That's the Sprinter, AKA the BK Dasher Mk II.

  • i love ur video u r a genuis dude

  • What is that stupid shortcut that destroys normal races on Grumble Volcano?

  • There's a rock to the left of the start/finish line. If you drive around it, it counts as a full lap in as little as 8 seconds. You can look it up right here on YouTube. It's absolutely broken.

  • dude wats with ur profile icon i dont get it i dont know wat it is and i love the vids dude

  • Read the description on Overhazards page and you will find out.

  • I know about that Shortcut on Grumble Volcano (Have seen it on ghost time trial records) I dont mind it for time trial records but its not playing fair to use it in wi-fi races.

  • shouldnt of that guy got disconnected for a rude name

    Dick (1st race)

Or is dick an atual name

Dont call me stupid or nuffin i am only 11

  • Dick is short for Richard. Remember the name of the U.S. Vice President?

  • oh yeah =]

  • and it might be possible that's a Dutch driver in the Netherlands the name Dick is used a lot for boys

  • It's used a lot in the USA too.

  • and england

  • I have no idea where or how "dick" became a bad word. :\

  • I tried to find out before...but it seems even etymologists (people who find out the origins of words) are stumped on this one. "Dick" simply meant "man" a couple of centuries ago, and that might be related.

  • Lol, mhm. Now, sometimes, we can't even get away in the common society calling people "dick". :|

  • The Flame Flyer is one of my favorite Karts to use. Have you tried its similar Kart, the Wild Wing? How come the 2nd hace here was Grumble Volcano instead of Wario's Gold Mine? Nobody picked Grumble Volcano unless it was that random track you picked.

  • *notices Wario Gold Mines was chosen before the 2nd race which was Grumble Volcano* Incorrect editing on your part?

  • Yeah, I accidentally kept the track voting in after Mario Raceway.

  • What the... What did "Kitty" do to zap ahead of you at about 1:10?

  • That was lag. The game thought Kitty was somewhere, then corrected itself.

  • I hate how ppl think how good u r JUST by VR records, cuz I can keep up w/ 9000+ VR's, and I have 6100 VR

  • Flame flyer is GREAT 4 T.T., though

  • Wait...on the second race, Wario's Gold Mine was chosen...not Grumble Volcano

  • To be fair, I think the stupid shortcut is only doable with 3 mushrooms, takes very precises aim, and also good handling not to fall off.

So it's really only something one would be able to do in TT

  • what do u mean stupid shortcut :S i never knew there was one

    plz explain?

  • There's a strange alternate route through Grumble Volcano that takes place around the rock behind the starting line. Driving around the rock counts as one lap, and sometimes, when Grumble Volcano is chosen, a bunch of people go and circle around that rock instead of playing it the normal way, finishing the race within one minute and ruining the race for everyone who wants to do it normally.

I've seen up to five people out of eight do that. It's messed up.

  • At about the half-point in the track, there's a huge, risky jump that you can take that shaves off about three to five seconds off of the race. It involves using a Mushroom to zoom offroad onto a pillar in the middle of the lava and rebounding off it onto the other side. There's a video of it here on YouTube; type in "Mario Kart Wii Expert Shortcuts" in the search engine and you should find it.

  • Oh, that's nt what I mean. I meant the "driving around the rock" thing at the beginning.

  • Oh, people do that in online races?! I could see using that as a way to cop out of time trials, but if you're gonna use that in competitive play, then that's just sad.

  • Yeah, like I said, I've seen up to five people do it in one race. That's why I avoid picking Grumble Volcano when I see three or more people with VRs above 8500. I just never recorded any because it pisses me off seeing it.

  • When youre hit with the Flame Flyer, hold 1+2 together on the spot and you'll eventually get blue sparks. Works on Auto, too.

  • Thanks, though it was mentioned twice above. All these people suddenly telling me this...Thanks for the support!

  • in the last race from 8:27 to 8:34 thats when everything went wrong from bannanas to shells to a car and a driver but mostly the car

  • How come one second we see the poll result as Wario's Gold Mine, then the next you're in Grumble Volcano?

  • I probably cut the video at the wrong spot. Or maybe it's a glitch. I'm usually not watching when the roulette is going.

  • Sheesh, I actually had to work on Mario Raceway. I'm glad that Lightning hit after I got hit by that Blue Shell. Slowed everybody else down with me. I'm amazed I pulled off third place.

Also, I'm glad you fixed your disconnection problems. They definitely should reimberse all the VR you lost during that time. And not cool dodging the Blue Shell while I got hit by one! GRR!!!

  • Is that what happened? I thought you dodged the Blue Shell too. I saw the Blue Shell blast, but then I saw you "warp" way out in front.

  • No, that was the first one. I got hit by the second one and then the Lightning hit everyone.

  • Must've been out of my line of sight then.

  • Overhazard, try this:

when you race online, and finish the race, always leave the room. then connect again and make your other race, and then quit again, and eventually, you will have high VR in no time with no disconnections. trust me, i do that. it takes more time, becuse you have to connect to WFC again and again, but its a safer way. believe it, please.

  • And it's good that you helped your router situation a little bit.

  • I guess there are so many more of these piranha fish waiting for you to fall into their ranks. The playing environment of Mario Kart Wii sure has changed over the past week all of a sudden.

  • so thier are good pep whoo disguise themselves as bad players without a ranking and get good players into bad ranks? how did u learn so much about MKW

  • They're usually not good racers, those who get by by shooting other people down. They just wreak havoc and win races by sheer gamesmanship.

  • I have 2 star ranking, and now I'm starting to get singled out when I'm racing people with VRs in the 5000s-6000s. But awesome maneuver dodging the blue shell! I've tried it, but a red shell always come first...

  • Well, if people beat the better players, then their victory will look that much more glorious. Trust me when I say I know how it is. In a couple of races recently, I was hit by three blue shells per race.

  • Glad to see you using the Flame Flyer, that's my kart of choice.

I think the main reason why you are picked on so much is because you have two stars. I've certaintly notice that I get bombarded less on my alternate licence without a star. People are just jealous I suppose and like to see good players lose. I'm pretty sure other two star players do have to put up with what you go through, however maybe due the fact that you use a kart you get stuck in the pack more and get hit more.

  • Well, karts certainly have a harder time simply passing ahead of other people; it can only do so with a Super Mini-Turbo, which is much much harder to do consistently than wheelies.

I'd say envy is definitely a big factor in this. When I find myself in rooms with people whose VRs are 7300 or above (or around that amount), I don't seem to get hit so much.

  • It's a shame really, in MKDS it didn't matter if you had a star or two online, it wouldn't mean people would especially go for you, but in MKWii it's like you have a huge target on your forehead if you have a star

  • That's strangely true. I have a three-star ranking in MKDS, and to boot, I chose against all of the more common emblems and made one of Jughead Jones from the Archie comics.

I guess it's because there were only four players at a time in MKDS whereas there are 12 in Mario Kart Wii.

  • Yeah, that's the deciding factor really

  • Heh...I'm one of those people who would do that. But only if there's like 3 people.

  • Yeah, it seems people have gotten a lot more aggressive. Probably because there are more better/serious players (who you'll typically see on them thar Flame Runners and Mach Bikes!) out there now than say back in April and May. That makes the grind to 9999 tougher!

Heh, I've about given up on it myself. Can't seem to get past 9400 on a kart. Probably could if I used a bike, but eh.. bikes are boring to me.

  • Serious players usually concentrate on winning the race; they don't normally hit you unless you're in their way. I seem to deal with aggressive players, those who are more concerned with making someone else fall behind. As my VR has ade its way into the mid-6000s, that's the type of person I'll encounter the most--especially since I have a two-star ranking.

  • yes, i am those type of racer. i only concentrate to win, and only if i have the chance, i hit the guy in front of me. but i dont have a certain target.

  • Winning the race and being aggressive is more or less the same thing. If you use a power item to run over someone, then that's one less person you'll need to worry about taking your spot, right?

Also, I didn't see too much aggression going on in Moonview Highway unless you count the Nanners you ran over and the shell you ran into?

Also, if you're having trouble with the Flame Flyer's acceleration, you can always do a stand-still turbo (accel + brake) as soon as you get it.

    Nice races.

  • Not quite--items can be used to catch back up, which means shooting someone down early on won't be of much use. In addition, you can tell someone who plays to win from someone who plays to hit other people by seeing if they go out of their way to run people over if they have a Mega Mushroom or Star, even being pursued way offroad.

The deal is that I keep track of who hits me, often the same person over and over.

And thanks, though I was taught how to do a standing mini-turbo above.

  • I am amazing with the Flame Flyer, but I can not work with the Flame Runner.

  • Try the standing mini turbo to get back to high speeds. It's way faster than waiting the 15 seconds for karts like the flameflyer to reach top speed again. Hold B and A at the same time until sparks start flying. Then, you're instantly back to top speed! Just never try it on uneven terrain (rainbow road slope)

  • Do I have to turn in any direction to do this?

  • No...

  • no, only press B and A, and eventually, a blue miniturbo will appear. you just let go of the brake, and thats it.

  • Yeh that's right. You can also wiggle left and right slightly to speed up the process then when the blue sparks appear, let go of the brake and keep your finger on the accelerator and away you go!

  • Ah, so it's the brake and the accelerator. I use the Wii Wheel, so it'd be buttons 1 and 2 for me. I should give it a try.

I've asked this before to people, and they've never answered back. It's like as if it was some sort of trade secret.

  • Man, I'm sorry you have disconnection problems. Yesterday I got on MKW and got the error before even picking my character. Then it wasn't so bad... but yeah. Nintendo is really not going very well with online gaming.

  • Nintendo is new to this. Up until this game, it never even knew that online gaming is a very big thing, so it was never really designed for very long sessions.

  • True, but if they ever get it right.. it will be a big hit I'm sure.

  • AWESOME blue shell dodge and great races

  • At 7:27, it's faster if you take the speed boosts on the right.

  • I take a big risk getting hit by the traffic, however, and the Flame Flyer is no vehicle to get caught in hazards. It carries a truckload of momentum, but it's very very difficult to regain it. I'd prefer to play things safe with the Flame Flyer.

  • awesome races anyway...

  • AMAZING blue shell dodge .-.
