I remember watching this live, and I believe it was my first experience watching Les Miles (was this in '05 or so?). I couldn't believe that someone with that little knowledge of the game was the head coach at a major university. The saddest part is, this act wasn't an anomaly - it was a foreshadowing of many, many blunders to come.
This is a bid to do about nothing. I believe this was the 2005 game played after Katrina. I was at the game. I've seen this happen in HS games before. Turn over and then TO. So what? Maybe he wanted more time to get his qb together and go over what they wanted to do the next series? That was not why we lost. We ran out of gas and were spent emotionally due to a lot of things going on at the time, like players' families sleeping in dorm rooms three weeks after Katrina.
Ok, I don't know much about Les Miles and I'm far from an expert on LSU or the SEC for that matter. But I see ESPN reference the 09 Ole Miss game today after talking about LSU vs. Tenn (10/2/10). I search it and watch related vids, eventually leading to this one.
I'm baffled. This is a head coach. In a major football program at a big school in a massively competitive conference. I'm not sure what else to say... I'm completely baffled. I mean other than stupid mistakes, is he a good coach?
when was this game? there was one year around 2006 where the ncaa diid some stupid shit where the clock didnt stop on a change of possession. It was so unanimously hated it only lasted a year or 2
@jeffbrister2004 I don't remember the details, but around that time they started messin with clock rules to hurry the games along and one thing they tried was keeping the clock moving after turnovers and kicks. It was definately since 2003, and it was a pretty big deal. That particular part of the rules didn't last, so then they went to what they have now with the clock running after the ball goes out of bounds (until under 2 minutes)
@trubengalgold - I'm not a Bama fan, actually I'm an Ohio State fan (yeah, go ahead and say it), not a "fan" of any SEC school but damn sure respect y'all (since you beat us every time we play), and I just love college football in General so of course I follow the SEC real close. I think the SEC's fifth consecutive national championship is pretty much guaranteed.
@junior2004hasz Hey I am sorry for confusing with a Bama fan. They are a rival who constantly insults our HC and program. Well not all but their lunatic fringe does.I have no issue with Ohio State. Y'all just happen to be the opponent in the 2008 BCS NC game. Thanks for the respectul words. Good luck to the Buckeyes.

@trubengalgold no problem. I'm just hoping the Buckeyes step it up against the Razorbacks. Will depend on which Terrelle Pryor shows up.
