  • There is no such thing as Evolution.

  • @OcelotGirl200 Of course there is. Take a science class.

  • @milkyway531 I can't. I'm home schooled. My Christian mother teaches me, and she teaches me about Creation. Creation is the truth. And Jesus is real. I have faith the Bible is true. Science can't always prove everything.

  • @OcelotGirl200 How do you know the bible is true?

  • @milkyway531 Because I have faith in the Bible. Every Christian does. And Jesus has answered my prayers. He's helped me go on with my life. That's all I can tell you. Is that I have faith that the Bible is true and Jesus is real. We'll all know in the end.

  • This video is "off topic". It's not about the Christian faith, but about Evolution. Many Christians believe in Evolution. Why is this an issue to the video maker? If your church tells you you can't believe in Evolution, then go to a church that tells you you can. What's the big problem?

  • Another eye opening video:) Thank you

    joseph

  • You are a great person; dont let others take you down. Could you picture our society if everyone thought like us?

I believe we could skip hundreds of years if we all thought this way as far as man made progress goes.

  • Rating disabled so... *Like*

  • @gjj101 wow you're ignorant

  • awesome! I hope more Christians can deconvert.

I went through this painful process years ago.

    Extremely tough to do though.

  • These videos help me to understand antitheism. Thanks. :)

  • Thank you Miley Cyrus. You're cute little Science theory helped me kill 5 minutes of time I could have spent reading a book or watching something educational, or true.

  • @gjj101

Dude you're drunk. Go sober up. That's not Miley Cyrus.

  • Okay, so I'm a Protestant that believes in evolution (except ape to human)> Just because you're religious doesn't mean that you can't believe in religion, it just means that you believe that God is in control of it.

  • She went to college at 15?? Well I guess we'll just have to take Miley Cyrus at her word huh?

  • I just wanted to thank you for your videos about your deconversion. I was raised in a Xtian home and was a true believer until I was a teenager and began to question the existence of god because it didn't hold up to logic. I'm now 30 & still haven't told my parents that I'm an athiest, even though they live on the other side of the state.

  • Yes gogreen, I understand, 100% of your situation. In High school I believed in evolution, back then I thought, god used evolution, thru creation, and that is how we all, including animals. In genesis, first the animals were created, man followed the animals in the so called book bible. So man made up god to get rich off of god theory, look at all these so-called ministers,on TV, always, and in churches asking for money. And the Jehovah's wtnesses as I once a jw. a waste of time. raised cthlic 0

  • ... XD "I'm not down with drugs"... Ah... really? I still remember "High as a Kite".

  • I am not an expert on atomic theory, but that doesn't seem to dampen the blast radius of an Atomic Bomb

  • did she say she was 15 and in college? Holy fuck.

  • @FootballnSoccer It looks like she said it twice, so she probably took a college level AP class.

  • @TheStrawberryPhantom Well Congratulations! :)

  • i love your videos laci, you're so smart and well spoken

  • Yeah 15 in college? Haha ur an idiot!! If u think u were a monkey then ur crazy.

  • you went to college at 15????/ Thats insane

  • I love ur videos keep them coming. U are very well spoken..

  • I tell you with total honesty, this girl is fucking gorgeous!!!! I'd nail Jesus to the cross personally if that were her wish, peace out you Goddess!!

  • 1:57 - 2:05...wow seven times; thats all it took to come. Does the book really say that....Funniest thing I heard.

  • Freshmen in College at 15, damn smarter then most of us.

  • Mormonism teaches a false creation. Many of their teachings are easily proven false using simple science. However, science cannot disprove creation at all. In fact, science only supports creation. There is a great example that uses entropy and causality to support that God created existence.

I can assure you that I have studied science more than 98% of people on this message board. I have the degree to prove it. Only certain parts of evolution are true.

  • @ZimZam205 What field of science do you have a degree in? And gaps in the theory of evolution, isn't positive evidence of creationism.

  • @strangestdude I am an electrical engineer, but I've studied science a lot more than just to get my degree. Which encompasses advanced mathematics, physics, and some quantum physics and material science and some other stuff.

My foundation for science isn't based on gaps in evolution. I don't even look at science from the point of view of any theories or beliefs. The goal is to be as objective as possible.

  • @ZimZam205 So you dismiss the concept of a scientific theory, even though it's one of the foundations of the scientific methodology? That doesn't make any sense. So you agree that there is no positive evidence for creationism, and the only reason why people believe it to be true is because the Torah/Bible/Quran said it did?

  • @strangestdude Are you trolling me? Everything you have said here presumes a lie about me. I'm not going to fall into your trap.

  • @ZimZam205 I think it's intellectually dishonest of you to say you've 'studied science' in order to give your argument regarding evolution more credence. The areas you've studied still indicate that you are a laymen regarding the subject of evolution.

  • @strangestdude Don't pretend you know me. My study of science is adequate enough to know that it takes a lot of "faith" to believe everything evolutionists teach. When you mix truth with lies, it's easier to get people believe the lies.

  • @ZimZam205 Did you study biology, or evolutionary biology for your electrical engineering degree? Do you believe that the story of Noah's flood is literally true? Both genuine questions, please reply.

  • @strangestdude If you had gone to school for a little reading comprehension, you would know the answers to these questions and more. Because I have answered them already.

I'm not continuing this convo with you, because I know it will lead to nothing for either of us.

  • @ZimZam205 It's very dishonest of you to state you've 'studided science' and are a creationist to give your argument more credence, when you didn't study biology or evolutionary biology as part of your degree. These are links that refute the 'casuality argument' /watch?v=KQ--CbV7L-g /watch?v=baZUCc5m8sE and these are links that refute the 'entropy' argument /watch?v=OBITz7WE6WE /watch?v=Yw9AoQ38pVU

  • i was mormon and went to church every sunday for 13 years. 13 years of brainwashing, memorizing religious lines, getting baptized... climbing the churches ranks. i was a fucking child being taught these things, i wasnt able to defend my defend myself from their teachings. now 17 i make my choices without having to fear im going to hell or having to deal with the mental anguish of making decisions that contradict the churches thinkings. *sigh*

  • i agree with you completely, but i am down with drugs

  • @TheStrawberryPhantom Right on! I've been an agnostic for the past few months. This past year was basically the last gasp of breath for my "faith". I put the word faith in quotations, because I've realized that I never had faith to begin with. I just did what I was told. When I was a kid, I never cared about church, I would beg my mom to let me stay home and watch Cartoon Network. lol! Now that i'm free, I can look at the world in a much more open-minded way. :) It's a beautiful thing.

  • @TheStrawberryPhantom Sorry you have to be in the closet but that may be best for a while. Only you can decide. Stay strong & continue to use your brain well.

  • Get over yourself, Christians.

  • What does Evolution have to do with Atheism? Evolution is a Fact, and I am Muslim! Just because your Christianity nonsense is not compatible with Evolution doesn't mean that there is no Right Religion! Even if there were no right religion, that doesn't mean there is no God!... Where on earth did you learn to Think?

  • "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." Genesis 1:1.

Get over yourself you make yourself your own god. Darwin was a housebound invalid at age 30 and spent his days having nightmares that what he believed was LIES. You are an egomaniac and you like all so called atheists are RELIGIOUS FANATICS. Your worship yourselves and pretend that the perfect system of morality is "do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law". As long as it doesn't "hurt anyone", yea right.....

  • I'm down with drugs as long as I'm fully aware that I'm taking them. If religion is a drug then the best analogy is rohypnol. Parents en masse raping their children's impressionable minds.

  • did anyone else notice she said she was a freshman in college at age 15

  • @cuterocker98 She did begin college when she was fifteen.

  • If you call me intolerant I will hunt you down and kill you, and your friends and family, and your dog. Then I will plough your land with salt.

  • its not completely proven (evolution)

  • @cuterocker98 What is 'completely proven'? It's as scientific fact as scientific fact gets and the evidence to support it is, simply put, overwhelming. There is no evidence to support any other theory dealing with the development of life on earth.

  • @cuterocker98 And by development I mean it's diversity since it appeared not it's initial appearance, which is abiogenesis and not evolution.

  • Laci, Duh evolution is only a theory, that means you silly atheists are wrong (and I don't understand what a theory is), Religion is right because my religion says so! Besides, the religious embrace science, especially the science of group psychology and reinforcing memes through group think. If you doubt this go to church and "feel the power of the spirit" as you stand, sit, kneel, sing, and profess all as one. How dare you suggest there is no free thought in the house of god?

  • What's with the cheesy music in the background?

  • Why does the description say, "get over yourselves, Christians"? The Catholic Church (biggest Christian denomination) accepts Evolution as a valid theory.

  • No disrespect to those of you who are religious and are not sounding like A holes but to those of you who are sounding like A holes, as far as I'm concerned you god is a real Prick! I mean he gives you free will but punishes you if you don't use it by his rules( which isn't really much of a gift any way if you can't use it anyway without getting into trouble) also he sends good people to hell for not believing or worshiping him BUT he'll let killers, child molesters, rapist, and spousal/childre

  • NOAH: The foremost animal trainer of ALL time! He trained the unique animals of Australia to refrain from sex as they hip-hopped their way from the Ark back to Austrailia!!!

  • holy shit, you were in college at 15?

yeah, there's WAY more awe and wonder to be found in the real world than in ANY holy text i've read.

i just kind of grew out of religion. i don't understand such willful ignorance in adults either.

  • I'm an exmormon also, good for you!

  • Also, you stated "scientific fact" referring to evolution.

Darwin called it a >theory< of evolution for a reason.

And he was, no doubt, a smart man.

I think that you have a right to tell people about what you believe, and I enjoy listening to your explanation of things.

But, think that stereotyping ALL religious people to be "close-minded" and not open to scientific fact and reasoning is wrong.

I am religious, but I do, and have always tried to incorporate science with my religious faith.

  • @vintagecrown - To avoid misunderstanding I wanted to emphasize that something being a theory is not mutually exclusive to it being a fact (ex: heliocentric theory, gravitational theory) nor does something being a theory give it validity (geocentric theory). But all critique aside I think it's best to view this video as a testimony of her personal experience as opposed to correcting what may seem to be inaccuracies in recollection of said theories.

  • @vintagecrown

If you look at some of her later videos she admits to a little raging in these types of videos, since she was still trying to break away and not be beaten down by religious followers. I agree that she was a little harsh, but I understand why she was now after hearing her admit she raged.

  • @TicTacAnyone This doesn't appear to be rage but more a description of an awakening. If there's any rage, it's due to the frustration of willful ignorance by her religious elders.

  • Comment removed

  • @vintagecrown I am religious too. i think the Bible is very metaphorical, ecspeacially the creation story. I think it happened over billions of years but was put into "days".

and In the Bible it says noah and abhraham lived to be like 800 years old or something.

  • @vintagecrown

Scientific paradigms are referred to as theories. It doesn't make them less factual, it just means that scientists are open to accepting new information into the theory. Calling something a fact makes it seem like it's set in stone. Even if she used the wrong word the meaning is the same in the scientific sense. It's very common to say scientific fact in place of scientific theory.

  • The verse in the bible where it says "The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.." when taken from the hebrew scripture lists them in order like this: ferns, seed bearing plants, fruit bearing plants, then cone bearing plants. this happens to go pretty much along with the evolution of plants.

This is neat because it is an instance where religion and science go together.

    Just a thought.

  • @vintagecrown

Yeah I like that part where they tell you how to cure leprosy in Leviticus. You know the one where you kill one bird and then dip a live one in the dead ones blood and sprinkle it on the infected person. Another instance where religion and science go together.

  • i know it's random but i'v noticed that most smart people don't believe in god and everyone in the middle and below are all religious. (i know not in all cases) am i the only one who has noticed this? haha (most scientist being an example)

  • @TheStrawberryPhantom

.don't tell anyone but I wish I was atheist. though being african american.. make that choice then you're cut off... and I am not yet in a position to be away from oklahoma at the moment since the tokyo earthquake kinda sapped most of the wealth I had earned in Japan.

  • @TheStrawberryPhantom

lol I am a contradiction. I am a secular humanist christian. I hold Galileo's views that got him executed. Anyway at the end of the day what matters in life is what you do with your heart in mind, and how you use your brain. You can be an asshole, or an awesome dude. The choices are ours. I find that more in my religion of Christianity are choosing to be assholes. To them I just say goodluck with that. I am glad to hear you aren't brainwashed. find your own philosophy :D

  • One day all of these creationist should visit the American Museum of Natural History. There is no way that you could walk through that place and not realize the common link that all living things have.

  • HOLD ON...before you group all Christians together as ignorant creationist loons, the TRUTH is that the Roman Catholic Church, by far the largest "denomination" of any Christian group, does not deny evolution at all! In fact, it states in its 1997 Catechism that "these discoveries invite us to an even greater admiration for the greatness of the Creator". What the faithful must believe, however, is that our SOULS come from God, regardless of the origin of our physical form.

  • @pangman77

that is why American evangelist are at odds with Catholicism also realize that its group think I hear people all the time talk shit about Catholics, and yet they really don't know why. Just realize a lot of group think is at play, and by exposing someone's ignorance well they become very hostile and defensive. I keep my policy of live and let live for a reason especially as a christian myself I think evangelicals are f*cking insane.

  • there is no creationism vs evolution debate in mormon theology. official church doctrine on the issue is neutral. either your sunday school teacher was mistaken, or you're simply remembering things wrong (i would guess the latter).

you also misrepresent evolution. MICROevolution is an observed fact. MACROevolution in nature, which is how new species are formed, is indeed a theory, one which i do not deny one way or the other. to say otherwise actually means that YOU don't understand evolution.

  • You were a freshman in college by 15?

  • I think i just lost my comment. I'm not sure.. it was kinda long but basically I feel like you would probably enjoy three books 1. Ishmael 2. The Story of B 3. The Shift. And I basically just said that I think you'll like them because we are very alike. Haha. Nice bandana.

  • You're awesome by the way. you should read these three books. 1. Ishmael, 2. The Story of B, 3. The Shift. I mean... if you haven't. The Shift is kind of obscurely rooted in spirituality but it still poses good points and great insights for what the future will hold. We are made of the same mind it seems.

  • Oh and Laci: very well put. Your a very eloquent young lady, and I congratulate you on questioning a faith forced upon you at a very young age. The ability to question our surroundings, collect data, examine that data, and form conclusions (theories) that fit the facts is what defines our higher thought processes.

Unfortunately some people prefer to live in ignorant bliss. 'Religion is the opiate of the masses.'

  • Eugenics is not the same as Darwin's Theory of Evolution. Eugenics as a pseudo-science has been debunked for nearly a century. Science is not very flawed, nor is it presented in a 'mangled way'. Just because you have insufficient knowledge to fully comprehend a subject or scientific theory does not make that theory any less true. I will grant you however that poorly conceived scientific experiments with unscientific methodology do get published regularly, but are quite quickly dismissed by peers

  • Oh byt the way there have been people who lie about science as much they lie about religion.

YEs religion has been used for war and racism so has science, science is manmade so it can be very flawed, as in presented in a mangled way or we are mislead so maybe hypothitically the upper class keep the knwoledge to take advantage of us ewtc.

    THis is all historically proven.

There have been false studies promoting racism. I learned it in anthropolgy iintro course.

  • Didn't Mendell who studied genes, in its early stages proof that evolution is a exageration, and how about cancer, mutations gone wrong, mutations kill more then they are beneficial, so if you are saying evolution is true I mean where is the proof, I was taught when I was 12, but when I took advanced biology it just wasn't mentioned anymore, from what I ee there jut wasn't any base for it passed a theory, from what I see its still a theory, false when applied to Humans of course.

  • I totally agree with this video, philosophically. At some spots though I just busted up, mostly because of the music. The juxtaposition of the touchy-feely music with DE-conversion is fantastic, as it's normally the music I'd expect to hear played while someone is waxing emotional about how Jesus is their lord and savior. "I don't know about you, but I'm not down with drugs" is phenomenal. hahaha

  • 2) cause most of us christians dont accept jesus unless we are passionate about it unless we are serious because we believe what the bible says, thats why we become christians, not cause we want a religion, because we want to believe in god.

  • 1) laci, heres a major correction that can debunk most of the things u say about christians being obsessed with religion: **accepting jesus christ into your heart as a personal savior means you start your own brand new relationship with him** seriously listen cause i cant underline the words im about to say: **if you say you are a christian, that means you are NOT in a religion, you are in a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus Christ** now can u stop bashing christians?

  • Now to say that "god" doesn't exist is kind of asinine. the equation of existence is too big and too complicated to think that there isnt some kind of architect "god" behind it. god did create man in a way, he created the basis for life. evolution definitely exists. god created us to evolve and adapt to our surroundings. its simple, look at the picture more from a native american perspective.

  • @JAT763 if existence needs an explanation because it's too big and complex to exist without a creator, then certainly God, who would have to be even more big and complex in order to be able to create existence, also needs an explanation. So by positing God as the creator of existence, you haven't solved a problem--you've only created a bigger one.

  • @musenji yea but to try and understand it fully will probably cause migraines. all im saying is that thinga didnt just materialize without any purpose. were not here just to be here you know, theres something goin on behind the scenes that we dont know, and wont know until we buy the farm.

  • @JAT763 Are you suggesting that we blindly believe in some invented theory that explains everything just because trying to understand things causes you migraine? Don't you care whether or not you are being fooled into some Santa Claus story? Isn't avoiding to question a fear of truth?

  • @gugamilare look I'm not trying to push beliefs on to anyone. believe what you want. I have my own beliefs. All I'm saying is that when I look around I don't see some kind of chaotic mess (not in the physiological sense at least) I see a lot of order, and it leads me to believe that were just a small grain of sand per se in a giant equation that we don't grasp. I believe god or whoever you wanna call this being is behind it. I don't however read into the dogmatic church bull though.

  • @gugamilare i don't think your truly grasping the concept of what I'm trying to say. spirituality is a completely individual matter. whether you believe in nothing or you believe in an omnipotent being that is the complete architect of all existence. I'm not telling anyone to believe what I believe, I just wish people would make up their own minds and stop trying to tell others what to think. I have my beliefs you have yours, leave it at that, its simple.

  • @JAT763 I agree with that and I admire that position: everyone believes whatever one wants to. Maybe I directed my question in the wrong way, I didn't mean to push my position.

I was trying to point out that your view that "since we can't know the whole truth, we shouldn't bother to even try" seems innocent and tastes like fear of the truth. Whether or not you agree with that, well, it's up to you.

  • @gugamilare hell, i'd love to know the truth about everything, and someday I will, thats when i end up buying the farm. at least for me trying to understand what "god" is is like an mouse trying to understand what I'm saying. you can throw it around every which way, but the truth is those answers are your own and your own only, I don't need to go search for answers because I believe all the answers I need are right here in front of me. I just think the truth is too big to understand is all.

  • @JAT763 That makes sense.

  • @JAT763 Doesn't mean there is a God. If you look through history of us human. Before we had science to tell us about things we had myths and legend to explains things. Once scientist was able to explain the unexplainable it's more beautiful and interesting then saying God did it. i.e .. sun goes around the earth. Earth is flat. etc.

  • I asked my 81 year old grandma why animals dont "have souls" and she said it was because god but them here to serve us. Its so fucked up people can actually go through their whole life believing this shit even if they were raised to believe it(like myself.) I actually tried to make myself believe the bible was true when I was a kid and I felt bad because I couldnt

  • You are very smart and very pretty

  • U were a freshman in college when u were 15!!!!

  • @CompactDisc7227 and @panecitaxmurakami geta room! xDD. lol jk.

  • I dare you to Google the "Magis Center of Reason and Faith"

  • Firstly, it appears that all of what you know about religion comes from the Mormons. It is not apparent that you have studied where their beliefs come from let alone any other religion.

Just because you may not understand the proofs of God, it doesn't mean He doesn't exist.

  • YOU ARE WRONG, THERE IS NO PROOF THAT OUR LORD THE INVISIBLE PINK UNICORN ISN'T REAL. Jokes, 3rd fav speaker, after Richard Dawkins and almost Christopher Hitchens so you are a brilliant source of information!

  • Hmmm, have you ever heard of Young Earth Creation Science? You, even as an Atheist, might find it interesting.

  • @Zcrockit I don't mean to troll here, but I'm just curious, what aspect of young earth creation science is interesting? See, the purpose of science is to generate theory that will explain ALL information in the simplest possible way and also make predictions that can be verified. Evolution by natural selection does this. YECS seems to just be a vehicle to spread misinformation among the ignorant

  • I am religious, but I do believe that evolution is possible. The Bible said God created the Earth in seven days. Bible time isn't equivalent to modern time. Sooooooo who's to say that those seven days couldn't have meant thousands of years worth of evolution?

  • @panecitaxmurakami try hundreds of million years ;) but good point! Being a religious person does not mean you have to reject science

  • @panecitaxmurakami The word used for day in Genesis is the word used for day all through the bible. There's nothing in the bible to support the belief that the writers, who were supposedly divinely inspired, meant anything other than what they literally wrote. God wanted humanity to think it was six days, maybe he meant six days. If you believe in that kind of thing. Cf Hindu scriptures which happy talk of periods of billions of years.

  • @ketsan True...then again, none of us were around when it was written lol

  • @panecitaxmurakami

You're more open minded than most christians I know, I want to congratulate you on that, if you feel up for hours of talk about this, feel free to message me, if not, no hard feelings =)

    Maybe cya later,

    CD

  • @CompactDisc7227 Well, I'm not technically a "Christian," but thank you.

  • @panecitaxmurakami

Ah cool, what are you then? :)

  • @CompactDisc7227 Someone who prays, wears a rosary, and scans through the Bible...idk what to call myself in terms of religion. Just know I'm not an atheist, but I'm not a Christian.

  • @panecitaxmurakami

Allrighty, it's good not to be in a box =)

I'm happy for you, really, people like to put other people in boxes.

  • @CompactDisc7227 well thank you; I like my lack of a "box" lmao

  • Most religious people seem to think that accepting evolution means that you are saying that humans came from modern apes, and then ask "Why are apes still here if we evolved from them?" but they never take the time to learn that we didn't come from modern apes, but a common ancestor that branched off between apes and humans. They still won't get it if you explain it to them. Willful, blissful ignorance is what it is.

  • Very intelligent videos Laci. Let's travel the world.

  • I totally agree with you. I went to private Catholic school until 6th grade and in about 4th grade I was convinced that I was being taught total BS and that religion was just of way of people not facing their problems but praying to a man in the sky to fix everything for them.

  • @surfergirl8030 Catholics do not teach the truth my friend they lie about that Jesus die on the cross they lie about that hell is a place of torment and the main thing they lie about is that Jesus is the Almighty God Jehovah I fell sorry for this girl who has been mislead by false religion their is a creator and his name is Jehovah

  • People who are skeptical by nature are going to feel like religion throws them a lot of balls from left field. I'd honestly rather watch Ren and Stimpy engage in intellectual battle with Beavis and Butthead before listening to an old pastor from a religious school of mine discuss his twisted, ignorant thoughts on evolution one more time.

  • Were you adopted?

  • Okay, I just wanted to say that my husband, a physicist and also a follower of Jesus, a Christian (not Mormon, we have very different beliefs), has no problem believing in evolution. I know a lot of Christians who believe in evolution, it is not something you need to separate.

Also, Bak3dB3an - the Bible is definitely not stories of what to do and what not to do. I studied the Bible for 4 years as an undergraduate. The Bible is many different kinds of literature - stories, poems...

  • I've NEVER understood why Evolution goes against religion or vise versa...

    My opinion:

God made the big bang. Produced every atom that scientist use to negate God lol, I find that funny.

Scientist see the beauty of God everyday and several physicists have stated it :)

The Bible: Stories of example of what to do and not to do. To question if you feel certain behavior is wrong or right. Obviously edited for agenda by the vatican.

  • Oh shit, it's that bloody music again. Seriously, I give up. Is this series available in text form?

  • I'm about to learn about Evolution in my class. I can't wait to see all my religious friends get school'd. They'll have their fair dose of logic and evidence.

  • I think everything is bogus. I mean everything is a believe. Cause you believe in the scientist who are giving complex words which we read in school and see on tv and people are taking t'hat's the truth but infact you don't know if it's the truth cause you haven't been studying it you're just assuming. Just like a religion. I'm not saying that religious people are right or wrong nor am i saying that atheïsts are wrong. We just don't know cause we put faith in the people who we think are right

  • @MissNatascha1979 All the scientific jargon can be a bit much to keep straight sometimes, but science is totally different from religion. Science thrives under scrutiny. Scientists make their careers out of knowing when to say, "I don't know," because when one reaches the limits of one's understanding, one is poised for discovery. Encountering a question to which one does not have the answer is great, because it sets one up to learn that answer.

  • "a freshman in college when I was 15".. I bet that means because you're so smart.

Evolution has heaps of scientific merit, but so does the human soul.

What do you think the electrical current is that is shooting through you right now? Einstein said it best, electricity can not be destroyed 'it simply goes somewhere else'.

But I think you have it all figured out. You're what, 19 and a half by now? Extensive life experience with your 15 year old college classes. Tell me more teacher

  • @Baruch153 "What do you think the electrical current is that is shooting through you right now?"

    Electrical current.

  • There could be many reasons why a person would feel safer to think these things and there also many reasons why someone would feed someone the revised version of the bible. \\Because if you think about all the changes religion has gone through, it's lost it's original meaning.

  • Excellent videos--thoughtful and funny--but please lose the piano!

  • Actually evolution is neither confirmed nor denied by the LDS Church. So those teachers were misled. I have had courses at BYU that have specifically taught evolution or global warming. The only reason people deny it is because of the large conservative population in the Church, not because of the Church itself.

  • so HOT!!!!!!!!!!!1 yet misleading

  • Evolution is a FACT --> google LENSKI EXPRIMENT

  • Why aren't you down with drugs? @_@

  • @JikkiTrellkin Because some drugs destroy the delicate balance of chemistry in the brain, which in turn can destroy a person.

  • I once was suggesting to a girl at my church that maybe 7 days could be an analogy for 7 billion years of the world evolving. She didn't even let me finish my sentence before she said, "Nope, seven days. That's it."

  • @MrFishWish

Unfortunately there are huge problems with seeing parts of the bible as analogies. If the 7 days is an analogy then maybe Jesus was just a metaphor. If one part is a tall tale then why isn't it all. So it often seems that reason/science are incompatible with faith.

  • Religion is coming to an end. so we humans can unite and lift up all our brothers and sisters as we look to the stars and make plans for galactic exploration.

Lots of work to do folks, let's wake up the sheep so we can work on our real purpose, to survive, thrive and populate the Universe.

  • @danz177 This is a really, really wonderful comment. I can only hope it happens one day.

  • Faith is not real. Faith is imaginary and illogical. The opposite to faith is to make solid attempts to disprove belief. This puts faith in direct opposition to science. Science makes every attempt to tear down any idea that does no fit the real world. Faith makes every attempt to prop up a belief irrespective of whether its true or not. In this sense faith is absolute evil.

  • "My Logic Is Undeniable"

    - VIKI

  • Religion is a drug :) love that part

  • I respect you for going with what you believe...but, the same can be said about creationism. You just have to have faith...if the world came about by a Big Bang, then who set that action into motion? I think there are flaws to both sides...but, Creation just requires faith, and in a way so does evolution...can you prove 100% that this complicated world and all the intricacies of life just randomly happened? I mean what meaning does that give us for life?

  • I like how she said she was 13 when she was in Sunday School learning, then she said she was 12 later.

  • i wish she would just stand infront of the camera with her tits out

the talking ruins it for me

  • btw

it makes sense to the closed minded ass holes, that deem christians ignorant.

    like you

  • you have no damn idea what your talking about. dont go presenting your biased ass mormon cult like ideas from what that small division told you. they arent teaching creationism theyre instilling fear, CANT YOU TELL THE DIFFERENCE.!!! do your research and GET over YOURSELF!!!!

you probobly dont even really know what creationism is.

    dum cunt

  • even if god existed who would want to follow something who condoned mass genodice, kidnapping and rape , bigotry and racism, etc................ moses was angered when his armies brought back women and boys after killing the men and unclean from 1 city burning, he told them to kill the boys and do what they wanted with the female virgins<<<< i wonder how many of them were well under 18?

  • I was raised Catholic (I'm not anymore) and I was taught that I shouldn't take the Bible literally, dad always told me that its entirely possible that because God is on a different level of existence than us that means that time would pass differently for Him/Her/It than it would for us. So one day for God could be millions of years for God.

Even as agnostic, it still sounds like a pretty valid idea to me

  • @slurpymiester how is it valid? did you aware that god created plants before he created sun?

so, plants could survive millions of years without sun?

god also created stars AFTER he created moon and earth. this is impossible because the farthest star is more than 12 billion light years whereas earth was only 4.5 billion years.

    valid?

  • @slurpymiester It even says in the Bible that 1 day in heaven is 1,000 years on earth.

  • @magaply this was also back in a time where "1,000 years" was seen as an infinite amount of time, or at the very least, a much larger amount than the literal thousand

  • From what I can tell, evolution is changing in order to adapt to your surroundings better, right? Well, if so, I don't see how people can deny it. We, as people, change everyday in order to better adapt to surrounding. We constantly change and adapt. How is evolution any different?

Please correct me if I am wrong.

  • @Beyerful Evolution is natural selection.

Evolved means something that "it" is survived because it is the the fittest for its environment.

Change doesnt mean "X" transformed to "Y", but rather to "X" dies (cannot survive) and "Y" lives (survives).

Survive means that "it" is the strongest / weakest / fastest / loudest etc.

In a "sexiest girl" contest, the sexiest girl will "survive".

Michael Jackson will "survive" the dancing whereas Albert Einstein "survives" the math.

  • @chropose Oh I see, that makes sense. Thanks for that :D

  • @Beyerful no problem. "Well, if so, I don't see how people can deny it."

They have to deny evolution because they are creationists. Creationists believe that bible is word of god, so the creation story (adam and eve, garden of eden, talking snake) must be true, because bible says so. Everything that contradicts with the creation story, like theory of evolution, must be denied because it is "false truth".

  • @Beyerful Another example, in battlefield medic will treat soldiers which was hurt the most.

Parents will give more attention to their infants than to their older kids.

  • "... and if you don't understand it, that doesn't mean it's not credible - it doesn't mean it doesn't exist." 3:17.

This logic is a two way street that runs in both directions. You appear to recognize one direction, but refuse to acknowledge the other.

Evolution isn't a topic refuted by the LDS church. Nor is it driving a wedge in the youth of the church. But your video clip leaves this impression to those that don't know better. Why the blatant mispresentation and dishonesty?
