I wish we had a full version of this. It is beyond words. and no - she is not playing piano on this, she is standing. jon brion is playing piano. you can tell it is his style. she never plays piano on her covers, only the songs she has written.

This was just a snippet; why?? I didn't care for this al all. She over-emoted, trying for effect, and hammed it up much too much. Also, her intonation was weak in spots. Better luck next time. Also, if you do this song too slow it can sound like a funeral dirge. Needs a bit of rhythm to move it along. Maybe she's new to singing jazz-type tunes like this; she's not bad; she's just needs some more, or better, coaching.

The "Ella Fitzgerald" version is okay, but it lacks character and passion. It's pretty, but boring, and typical of that time period....I wasn't anywhere near dumbfounded.

This doesn't work for me -- the singing is breathy, unfulfilled and generally awkward, she has no control over the emotions -- it's all one emotion all the time, and no song is like that -- and it's almost a little painful to watch.
