  • Mine is 20 yrs old. She STILL does this even when she has a full dish of food...smh.

  • he wants food he is still a baby he will grow out of it

  • thats because its a baby. It will stop when its grown

  • my boy cockatiel does that when hes scared hes was handfed hes 2 dont like being held my girl shes sweetest cockatiel rocco he looks just like yrs when hes loose its hard to catch him and he hisses when we try to catch him n rocks back n forth n hisses in a corner, i got him at petco my summergirl shes hand fed petco didnt tell me rocco wasnt hand fed ,

  • What I did with my cockertiel was put a seed between my lips as tho i was mummy bird then he'd take it from me & eat it, same with a bit of biscuit. now he gets a bit of food in his mouth & 'feeds' me with it!!! lol

  • It wants food.

  • Asking for food.

  • Remember, no chocolate, no onions, no cooking rice, popcorn nuts in teflon dishes either, it will kill them. And no avocados. Lots of greens, broccoli, mustard greens, parsley and apples! Have fun w/ ur new baby! She/he is darling!

  • He is not completly weaned. Your cockatiel is asking u to feed it. Baby cocktiles bob thier little heads and make that screeching noise 2 get ur attention when u get buy. It seems ur baby has accepted u as their parent/flock. So now it is doing what they know best, beg for food , this will go away in a few weeks as they learn to depend on foraging what u place in the cage or when u spend time w/ them on the floor. They love millet, and boiled eggies! Lots of green veggie.s

  • That is the sound baby cockatiels make when they are hungry. I raised 3 cockatiels and they are 3 months old now. One of them still makes that sound when i have a glass in my hand, he thinks its his food.

  • they are hungry or want atention when they make that sound at that age

  • hungry

  • My cockatiel did this for a while too. The vet told me that it was a mating sound, but that didn't sound right to me.

That sounds actually means your cockatiel is hungry. I would suggest putting a 2nd bowl of food in it's cage until your cockatiel is more comfortable in it. After i put in that 2nd bowl of food, my cockatiel stopped making that sound. I had that 2nd bowl in there for about a month with my cockatiel until it was comfortable in it's cage.

  • Mine did this as well. She's a female and you inadvertently turned her on. Female Tiels make this noise when they're "turned on" my first female tiel (after a lifetime of males) did this exact thing and it stunned the heck out of me until I took her to a breeder and the breeder explained this to me. If you pet her kneck and stuff she'll cry harder and vibrate waiting for....well...you know. It's a female turned on....she'll learn it's not gonna happen between you two and stop soon. Happened2me.

  • its hungery

  • My tiel made that noise for the first few weeks as well. And I got him when he was about 2 months old. It goes away with time. It just means that he wants you to feed (or handfeed) him, lol. But as long as they're able to eat on their own, they'll be fine.

  • No no no no. He does that cause he's scared of you. He's trying to defend himself. To make him stop just show him that your not scared and that you won't hurt him. Mine did that when I just got him.

  • @Blessthefall298

He's not scared, he's begging for food. I have i 21/2 months old male, and he's doing that. When i'm near his cage he sounds like a chainsaw, when i pick him up he continues until i put a mixed bowl of pellets/seeds and peas (which he devours) infront of him. Even then, i'm still having to encourage him to eat it.

  • omg its so annoying

  • My cockatiel made that noise when he wanted to be hand fed -___- He refused to be weened..

  • It's a baby. All baby cockatiels make this noise when they are hungry.

  • ur birds hungry

  • retard feed him

  • my bird hates me

  • @Mesoefly got mine at 6weeks and its been fine ever since.

  • How's your bird now? I know that was a hungry noice. It was too young to be away from it's parents or to stop being handfed. My pet store doesn't sell the babies until they're 3-4 months old, no longer making the hungry feed me sound and eats well on their own. I hope all is well.

  • i think he's scared

  • is has dail up internet and its connecting

  • All baby cockatiels do that. Do not scare it or hit it. It is hungry. I hope this helped!

  • H is just a baby. That is what baby cockatiels sound like when they want to be fed. That's all he's doing.

  • your bird is not crying it is beagging for food

  • My parakeet did this when he was scared, it could just be that he likes the noise.

  • Cockatiel chicks need to be fed egg biscuit mix up to four times a day. Dont feed them ANY SALAD VEGETABLES as it can give them diarrhorea, just the vegetables I've listed below as a bird specialist told me that........

  • Hes crying because he is still a chick and you have to feed him egg biscuit mix, mixed with a little warm water with a proper feeder or if you don't have one of those get a teaspoon and bend up the sides with pliers to create a small funnel to feed him. When the bird is older the crying will stop, and give small amounts of green vegies like silverbeet, broccoli, capsicum, and bukchoi, and apple as treats when you can, as it keeps their skin, beaks and coats healthy and he will love you for it!

  • That's called creeling, and it means he's hungry. Has he been hand-fed? Try feeding him a few bits of food by hand when he does make that noise.

  • That's the noise that baby cockatiels do when they are hungry or also when they are scared and make that noise to try to scare you

  • Sounds like an old ass cold V-12 trying to start. You should call him Lambo.

  • dial up

  • My cockatiel makes this noise when he wants me to pet him /:

  • Is it a young cockatiel? i think you must feed it cause he thinks you are his mother

  • Is he weaned? If not, that just means their hungry. Some cockatiels do it all their lives, and it just represents that their hungry. All of you saying he's connecting to the internet, fuck off. Birds are very smart, and they have a host of human conditions they can get. (Heart attacks, depression, etc, etc.) So next time you watch a bird video and post something stupid, delete it, or shut. the. fuck. up!

  • It's probably an interference, try puting the antena another way =)

    XDDDDD

    Just kidding ^^

  • Mine made these whining noises too. He is just a baby still. That's the noises they make to their mommy.

  • it still want you to feed him.....

  • My cockatiel used to make these noises as a baby.

  • Hi again, just to finish, Slowly wean the cockatiel of the baby food by giving it cockatiel seeds. you will find that oneday soon after, that the crying will stop and cockatiel seeds will take the place of the baby bird food! It took about 3 months to wean my cockatiel of her baby food. So don,t panic! p.s ensure to follow the instructions on baby food tub and check the baby food is not to hot as will burn there throats. check its warm by dabbing on your wrist before feeding. Hope it helps. Lisa

  • hi, the reason your cocketiel is crying, is food! That is exactly why. I can explain? When baby cockatiels are hand reared the owner takes full responsability for feeding them too. Your cockatiel has not been fully weaned (food wise). If you ever find yourself in a similiar situation in the future. Go to Pets at home or a large pet shop and buy a food purely for baby birds called EXACT! Its for hand feeding baby cockatiels, parrots etc! Lisa

  • XD lol mine did that when he was baby his saying feed me mommy!

  • it is making the "feed me" sound that baby cockatiels make. simple. it looks fine

  • mine did that cause there not use to the place. and the vet said as long as you play with him. or her, listen to music and make noises he or she will stop

  • Hes pretending hes on a cockatiel motorcycle

  • he's hungry

  • BEST ANSWER~~*

my friend has a baby cockitiel and her cockitiel does that all the time because he is learning to talk and his voice has not fully become a regular cherp. mine is a girl but im not sure if grls do that too.

  • He /she sounds like they are HUNGRY!! And they want mama or pa to feed them. I used to raise and breed cockatiels, and I got this same sound from 2 wk old chicks and they were HUNGRY!! I think the bird wants to be hand fed. May also just want extra attention.

    TW

  • He's hungry!

  • no no no. That is the sound baby cockitiels make when they think your going to hand feed them or they are hungry. He was still young. He had just been weaned. Look up unweaned cockitiel sounds.

  • hes imitating static on the tv,

  • He is using Dial - Up connection.

  • It's a sound that young babies make to announce that they are hungry.

Some cockatiels keep making that sound for a little longer because of habit.

  • He's trying to register for a Facebook account

  • it can also mean get the f away cause you see how he just stopped once you backed up

  • @blackphoenix20000111

that can also mean that the parent figure has gone to get food and the bird has settled down. do you know anything about birds at all?

  • hes hungry and thats what it makes to its mom when its hungry

  • Dont worry its normal he is hungry you should feed him his baby food- mine did that too when she was a baby

  • Dont worry its normal he is hungry you should feed him his baby food- mine did that too when she was a baby

  • Thats not how mine cries, weird.

  • He may be afraid of the camera...unless he was doing it and that was why you got the camera out...sorry i had a stupid moment

  • they also use that to make someone go away from someplace they don't want you to be...bottom line they use the noise to try to scare us.

  • that's because he is scared. cockatiels often make that noise when they're really scared of someone. try to gain his trust by demonstrating you won't hurt him. that noise has nothing to do with food. I've had several cockatiels and observed many others and that is definitly fear. they do that whenever we are too near them, as soon as you step back they shut up. just try to gain his trust ;)

  • omg lol I like have the exact same cage as you! :)

  • Its just a baby! haha

  • It's either hungry and begging to be fed the way baby birds do, or it's frightened of the camera. Hard to tell.

  • he is mad mine does that when he wants to be left alone

  • yeh baby galahs make this noise when they want food so i can only assume its the same reason !!

  • oil the gears

  • yeah hes mad i got one yesterday and he was a little mad sao he made that noise

  • He is a young bird? he wants to be fed thats the sound young cockatiels make when they want to be fed, my cockatiel charlie made that sound when he was young, he is now 1

  • Maybe u can try By taking it out , so that it'll be more tame ... and u should google when to feed tour Cockitiel , How is he now ?

  • the cockatiel is mad and needs fed

  • Sounds to me she does not like you or the camera..... Our tiel does this around items she does NOT like.....

  • is it a baby? my corella made that noise for a few months when i baught it

  • remeber that time u were out and the tv was on, yea u know what i mean, it was static, so now he is a tv lol :|

  • two months old you say? that explains everything. she's young, so she wants food, thats what young cockatiels sound like when they're hungry. if she's weened, which means she can eat solid food such as seeds, fruit etc, then give her some soft fruit and everyday give her some seeds. everyday increase the thickness of the fruit. and whenever she makes that noise, theres nothing to worry about :)

    hope this helps :)

  • hes a hungry bird! And sometimes it means theyre scared of something.

  • My tiels only make that noise if they are really upset with me about something...but maybe yours just caught onto that sound and he likes it. I've heard on some web sites that this sound is used when babies are hungry and some just take longer to grow out of it. tabithalb seems to know whats up. If he's not really angry and he's coming to you of his own will, I'd say he's just sighting you as moma and asking for more food, even if he's not hungry.

  • He is connecting to the internet

  • @LilSayo 'tiels and their broadband :)

  • @LilSayo Lmfaooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Good laugh xD

  • @LilSayo ROFL!

  • @LilSayo you made my day

  • @LilSayo lmfao!

  • @LilSayo OMG! LMFAO! THAT'S GREAT!!!!!!!!!

  • Took me a few tries to hit the like button as I was laughing too much and couldn't keep my hand still.

  • we have raised baby cockatiels and that is the sound they make from when they are very young while they are getting fed. they sometimes take a while to grow out of it, like some children suck their thumbs for a long time. they could be hungry or just being a little whiny. Sometimes they would make the sound whenever they saw the person who had fed them, even if they just ate and were full, so I guess it's like an instinctual reaction.

  • it dosnt want to0 be messed with, it wants to be held and cuddled, or it wants to play

  • have notice that when u backed away he stop he just scared he will get over it

  • he is not "HUNGRY" do not listen to that person he is scared he dont know whats going on and babys still make that sound i got a 4 month old male that was cherping find until he went into the to go box and he mad the same sound but he is a baby still it will stop when he gets older

  • @troisun yes he Is "HUNGRY" you troll.TROLL TROLL TROLL! im going to start saying ths to everyone who leaves negative comments about things they Know nothing about.

  • @troisun you OBVIOUSLY dont know what your talking about. it's hungry. not scared, if it was scared it's crest would be straight up and he would be backing away. all his featheres would be flattened. you sir, need to grow some knowlage. i've been living and training with cockatiels all my life.

  • its cause he is hungry

    but still cute

  • Give him a food

  • yep, definitely a hungry baby noise.

  • well I hope its weaned because that sounds like a unweaned baby

  • she relates you to food, ur just a big walkin food dispencer for her, she was probably weined to early and is behaving like a huge baby now!

make sure she has free acces to food and you allow her to sit next to you give her plenty of cuddles when she wants them! When she actually wants 2 be fed she will bob her head with an open beak.

I have a problem myself, my tiel wont stop pluking its down feathers! help!

  • he is not hungry some do it 4 attention or they r bord

  • Zangief:Quick! Change channel!

  • He's Hungry

  • yep, everyone else is right... hes hungrrryyyyy! ... although I do like the one that said hes making coffee!! lol

  • My bird did the same! But she had enough food.

However, I just fed her some of her favourite seeds. And shen probably wanted more.

it faded away with time. ^^

  • @Kemeji but dont feed it too much it can die from a full tummy

  • either scared or hungry

  • static

  • She's only two months old. Give him time and he'll most likely grow out of it. hes still a baby.

  • haha your bird has downs

  • I concur with everyone. This 'tiel's begging for food. They do that as babies.

  • hes making coffee

  • @belggianny good one

  • @belggianny HAHAHAH!!!! well that's nice of him, huh. lol!!

  • @belggianny you made my day.

  • The comments are so funny XD.

  • @oreosalad exactly what i was saying to myself xD

  • wie dumm dat is kein weinen dat machen die bei den eltern wenn die hunger haben

  • she's hungry

  • where do you get a baby cockactoo and how much was the cage

  • @wazupwierdo thats not a cockatoo, thats a cockatiel...big diff

  • @tamra1975 there the same thing

  • @wazupwierdo

    no their not

  • @xtr3k1d blaaah!

  • @wazupwierdo it is a cockatiel NOT a cockatoo

they are two VERY different birds and someone without experience and a LOT of time and patience should never own a cockatoo However a cockatiel like shown here are great first birds BUT you still need to read up and research(google) them cause they also require a lot of time and well they live for 20 to 30 years so be prepared to have him go through a lot of your life like college, jobs, boyfriend(girlfriends) marriage kids etc

  • awww my baby used to do that! :D

  • everybody writes "feed her" and it seems like that is the problem? but then my question is : dont you have any food inside hers cage? or does she want you to give it to her? :)

i am just thinking out loud

  • @Justforyoou depending on age she may need handfed she may not have been weaned properly she may be doing it for attention personally I would NOT offer a treat when she is doing it as that rewards and teaches her to do it to get attention and feed. IF she is weaned right she should be ignored so as not to reward it. If she has NOT been weaned properly than she needs some help and it can not fit in this box Owner shoot me a PM if you still need help

  • She is hungry...my have cocktail parrot too...She is hungry...feed her...(You know you can feed her apples...I feed my parrot apple and pepper...but never feed her avocado chocolate or snackes !!!)

  • Food Or Drink

  • give him millet spray thats what I use for treats

  • She wants to be free

  • shes hungry! feed her!

  • she or he is mad probably he doesnt like the camera

  • mine does this. but he does it mostly now when he wants a head scratch. he used to do it cuz he became a fussy eater and would pick out only the sunflower seeds from his mostly millet seed mix and i wasnt aware. so hed beg for food but would only take sunflower seeds. now i found him food he actually eats, a seed diet with no millet. maybe urs wants attention like mine if hes not hungry. this is a begging behaviour. mines 3 1/2 months old now and he still does it but quiets down with attention

  • give him food woman!

  • get him a friend

  • sounds like my television xD

  • I remember when my bird sunny used to cry. All birds do this when they're young because they are scared and sad. They're sad because they miss their brothers sisters- thats why mine was crying. They soon stop, though- just give her lots of attention and she'll adjust easier to her surroundings!! :)

  • he's angry!!

  • Its the sound they make when they are hungry, i had baby cocktaiels and they maked that sound too when they parents feet they ;) Sry for my english, I´m German :)

  • maybe she's trying to sing, female cokatiels don's sing so well like the males

    Cute bird though :D

  • my bird makes that noise when its hungry or uncomfortable

  • she was starving or you were to close of her babys (if she had any. . .)

  • when cockatiels cry like that they're scared. any change could bring it on. I've had mine for more than a year and sometimes if we change something she's used to, she cries, too. I also work with birds every day-it's what I do. Hope it gets better.

  • he is making baby cries

  • my bird makes that noise as well it means he wants to be left alone hes screaching :D

  • He's begging you for baby food. Sometimes they do this for a long time, even after they're weened. Just make sure he's eating enough on his own, and he'll be fine.

  • you dont have to worry---i have a cockatiel that does the SAME EXACT THING. its just a sign that it is hungry, it will do this is the first couple months of its life---it will also cry during feeding time (while it eats.) try giving him a little somethin'. if in later years the cockatiel does this, it might mean well...puberty. yes, birds have puberty too. but if he/she does this for more than 10 minutes, i would recommend taking your bird to the vet. Happy Feeding! X3

  • yer thats what maine is like

  • yeah babies / young cockatiels make that sound to get their parents to feed them, just like how human babies cry. Some of them get spoiled and think that even when they should be getting weaned that they still deserve to be fed by their parents.

  • we got a female and she was prity young, she kept screaming like that for ages and it was so annoying, i think its like a parent call or something to do with feeding, she would walk up2 u and just start screeching so damn annoying, but yeah she got over it after a couple of months.

  • your computer looks like the kind that might make those internet dial up noises,,... maybe he's mimicking those? lol.

  • he want sex

  • Translation "FEED MEEEEEEEEEEEH!!!!"

Reminded me good memories. He's gorgeous.

  • My bird makes that noise. When she makes that noise that means she is afraid and feels overwhelmed. Try talking or singing to soothe him.

  • he wants good you homo

  • i fells scared

  • By the way it looks your bird is a baby. That noise is normal for baby birds. That is how they say "I am hungwee mama feed me!!". It is completely normal. =3

  • Sounds to me like it might have learned to talk like your large computer tower which is conveniently located right next to it. It could also be regressing to a more infantile state, and begging for food (or formula, lets hope not). Make sure he's got his pellets, and that he knows how to eat them...DO NOT FEED HIM SEED MIX! Cockatiels on seed become fat and lazy, and will not get anywhere CLOSE to the required nutrients. Pellet diet + a little water, makes soft pellets that you can hand feed.

  • @doctorgonzo1983 Umm I've been raising cockatiels for about 7years now. They get seed/pellet mix and are NOT fat and lazy. That's just a silly thing to say. My tiels are sleek healthy and happy.

  • Hungry young cocatiel. I've raised them for 20 years. he/she wants to be mouth-fed now!!!! he/she said now!!!

    GOOGLE HAND-FEED COCKATIEL

  • That sound does not mean the bird hates you.... yes it does sound like its hungry and as for being wiened doesn't seem like it to me tho.... maybe it needs more time being hand feed... either way your suppose to grow with it... the distrubed or angry noise is not this sound.

  • hungry or scared sounds like that to me talk to it gentle and he or she will eventually be ok

  • I also have a 2 month old apparently female cockatiel, she still handfeeds (don't know if its normal) and she always cries like yours :D I'm really happy to find this video and read the comments. Apparently is normal but sometimes it drives me mad XD Also I don't want her to be too greedy :-/ Don't know what to do, she bites seed, and when she's alone sHe eats them pretty well, but keeps crying, she want to be handfed and out of the cage every time she sees me XD

  • That means he's hungry, it's a sound they make when they are babies.

  • try feeeding him some grass with seeds on it. that should quiten him down. every time you bring out of your cage feed him it.

  • when my cockatiel does that it means they mad
