i dont know if this happens to everyone else that meditates but near to the end i breath through pursed lips open my eyes and i can see what looks like my breath blowing a clear hole through smoke which is just above my face. i usually lie down by the way. does anyone know what the smoke is? it happens every time.
It does not depend on the length of meditation but the time one takes to focus clearly on the present. If someone can meditate well within fifteen minutes then that may be so.
Do not stray toward rating different things or categorizing things into "good", or "bad", accept things how they really are.

@fntime I must agree. Even I with years of practice can go to state in 10 minutes,but that doesent mean you are done. you need at minimum your age number. 30-60 is good. 15 minits is just warm up.

One of the meditations that I do, is the Meditation of Negation, no thought. In the beginning, I could only do this for a few minutes, but over time, I've increased it. Indeed you can and she does say to in the video. But if you find that to restricting, instead of discarding, acknowledge your thoughts and follow them do not alter change or interfere just simply observe them and if they grow let them, if one passes and another comes allow it. The whole time being or staying conscious of your breath for that is your guide and you guard. At least in this meditation style.

I was in that state for about a minute when I out of the darkness of my closed eyes I heard a male voice whisper in my ear "hello". I was so startled by it that my eye flung open. I thought I was going crazy. I would give anything to experience it again.

no this form is strictly releasing and emptying of stress in a day..transcendental is more of a focus and contemplative meditational practice...personally though, i would suggest combining prayer with meditation practices as a tool to help focus in prayer.
Is it just as good if you meditate at night just before going to bed for 10 minutes? Cause I'm not a morning-person and at least at first I'd like to do just 10 min cause 15 feels so long.

thoughts and the egoistic mind that create them, is the goal.
When you examine your thoughts, you will find they for the most
part aren't volitional. At some point you will 'meet' the creator of
your thoughts and you will see, that your thoughts are not necessarily
true and your 'belief system' is controlling your thoughts & you.

If you intend to meditate only 15 minutes,
I doubt you will get the benefits that she
speaks of. I find it takes me 10-20 minutes
to 'warm up'! 15 minutes is just a 'boost'
when you don't have time, But, effective
meditation, I have found, needs 30-60
minutes, more is even better.

you are not getting any where near the benefits.
