Hey! Danke für das Uploaden. Könntest du mir sagen, wie die Untersuchung, die 15 Minuten dauert, auf deutsch heißt? Den Teil verstehe ich nämlich nicht.
@etiosoul Claustrophobia.It's a natural, ancient instinct.I think is natural for the human been not to feel comfortable in closed areas.A surviving instinct most likely.
I am clostrafobic and had to have an MRI scan yesterday. I was dreading it! The staff were great they helped me through it by explaining the proceedure and coaxing me into the machine a bit at a time. The best way was to forego the music and do without the headphones as that was less crammed in, I just had the ear plugs and one of the staff stayed in the room with me. I could not have done it without their fantastic patience and help.
Many thanks to Bodelwydden Hospital in North Wales UK
It is amazing how the time it takes to have one of these done has dramatically shortened over the years...the first one i was old enough to remember having was like 45 minutes long...the last one i had back around 2003 ish took about 20 minutes...amazing.
i dont really have a "german version", as i dont speak / explain anything in german in the original videos; it's just random chatter and mostly silence / background noise. do you want / mean these original videos, though?
i'll try to get back to you asap - however, i need to dig out the original videos from my backup drive. hope you dont need them tomorrow or anything...
Apparently Peter Mansfield, who invented the echo planar imaging technique in the '80s that reduced scan times from hours to minutes, has solved the problem of totally eliminating noise from scans using acoustic cancellation. It's all in his nobel lecture video. I don't know why it's not being built into new machines yet though.
yeah, i heard about headphones that cancel out noise so all you hear is complete silence - obviously some people even use it to relax when getting to work by public transport.
good question, i dont know why they're not used in MRIs...
i LOVE MRI scans. the staying still isnt an issue for such a short amount of time (max. 1 hour), and i absolutely love the sounds... they're really soothing. i like some sequences more than others, though. i just feel very comfortable, like in a huge impressive tesla womb!
Do anyone knows how much time it takes for neck scan?

I had this done. But I needed to get sedated because of my claustrophobia.

Do you still have the video without your "speaking" in German?
I would need it in school.
Thanks! Heidi

Awesomeness. =D I've always kinda wanted to experience being inside one of those things!

@AScannerClearly
No you do not. Staying completely still inside a little tube making horrible banging noises is not fun. But the magnetic field around it is fun.
