This is a great idea, people will be beating down your door if they smell so much as a fart. I'm not so sure if I believe dehydrated salads taste the same as fresh though, if I were near you I'd knock on your door and ask for proof!
I never thought of cooking first, I have been storing in mylar, my husband had made the same statement as you, that scents carry and if you cook, anyone within wind distance would smell and show up, This is great advice, thank you, and please keep teaching us.
5 Star video my freind, I am really enjoying your cooking videos. I will be P/Ming you because My next step is to start dehidrating eggs. And you are spot on if you are cooking in your back yard and there are hungry people around they will find you. We have the same instincs that animals have.
How long for dehydrating scrambled eggs and at what temp? Really interested in this, since I have access to fresh eggs. Thank you for your great suggestions.
Found you through Demcad. Really enjoy everything I've seen so far. I've only been prepping a couple of years, but really interested in learning as much as possible. I'm a grandma from Pennsylvania and live in the country. Thank you for your great information. Will continue to watch.
its a good idea I may ponder it a bit try and fit it in my extreamly low budget, write a comment here it is you suck! kidding, love this vid man! lol id ask for your # but im an asshole =D
I dehydrate too, but never precooked my food like you, so this sounds just great. I can't wait to try it. I love my Excalibur 3900, it's so much better than the one I used to use. I also can meat, so it will make a great addition to your method. I'm looking forward to seeing a video about your food storage, it always helps to see something done, rather than just hearing about it. I also love your sharing tips on attutude and thinking about situations all the time. I do that every day. Bless you
I've been researching thermal cookers lately. its basically an insulated crock pot without power. you start heating the food up to 175-215 degrees on your stove, seal it in the thermal cooker in the morning, by the afternoon its fully cooked under its own heat. minimal fuel used and also minimal odors since its sealed. expensive though, but its on my wish list. good vid bro.
@GUERRILLAGEEK i know what you been up to,my brother y see your play list every day, checking up on you, lol,you are not the only one fallowing me ,i learn a lot from you,so i fallow your steps, good to hear from you,you have a brother here, wen i need you, you were there, if you need me you have my # god bless
you sound white ??? youll always sound like Tony Montana to me baby...lol....love your vids bro...really...you have to call poppaswine a cockroach in your next vid...as a favor to me....
You have hit on a big thing that I have not worked on. I have dehydrated lots of food. I have stored lots of food, especially beans & rice. But have not pre-cooked beans & rice & dehydrated them. I have food saver bags of beans & rice with spices. But on cook time on the beans, I haven't come up with a plan until now after seeing your video. I thought about using a grain mill & grinding beans so they would cook faster.
I have a pressure cooker too, so your process really makes sense for me.
First off ,dont stop your videos.Second ,you make the most sence to me,about preppin`.You are very logical about what you do. That tells me that you know what you are doing and talking about.Very few people talk about city survival and thats what is going to be important.Thank You.
Actualy your Barry White voice sounds pretty cool. I Have been stacking canned foods and mountain house, my wife isn't up to all the dehydrating but i might get one anyway. I have coleman Propane cooker that I will use inside with a fire estinguisher next to it, No way I can cook outside.
I'm a believer in camoflage ie your "Gray Man" I think the cooking can be camoflaged with burning rubber or incense something like that.
The idea of having food already cooked and prepared before shtf is truly ingenious.
