@WeslieJJ94 go to students.autodesk.com. if you are a university student, then use your university email to register and then you can download it for free.
Poor modelling practice, non of your sketches where constrained. You could have used derived dimensioning as another option. When you placed your plane it could have been don't tangent to your outer surface then sketched on your new plane rather than sketching at your default then projecting. just making more work for your self. All of this will come along with time and you will realise it is essential to ensure your models are stable at the starting point.
@rharvey2k1: I have clarified that I am not giving it dimensions (unconstrained sketches) as I am not building the perfect tire. I also agree with you that there might have been some other maybe slightly more graceful ways of accomplishing this task. However, when I was trying to build a tire the first time, the questions that came to my mind as a beginner I feel have been answered well. Once the underlying technique has been known the individual can adopt their own ways of doing it.
@TheDDDeagle I think you mean how to change the background screen color in Autodesk. If this is what you ask, then you need to go to Tools-> Application Options -> Colors and then you can choose the different colors and patterns you prefer for the background
@MrBrander its a kinda of a tacky song, not one of my favorties. one of the free songs youtube offers as background music for ur videos. i needed sumthing which is around 10 minutes long and fast paced so i just put this.
Im a student whos currently replicating the front half of a RC car for an assignment, and i was wondering how to do a physical tread, and you nailed it!
First I have Inventor 2010 which looks like the same version you're using. I want to know how I can make the "Model" menu/toolbar (the one on the left hand side) appear?
Second Question: How do I make the "viewing" toolbar/menu (the one on the right side under the viewing cube) appear? I had it on there originally but I did something and now I can't get it back
always constrain before dimensioning... poor practice indeed

for "Model" toolbar View >> Toolbar>> Browser Bar
For the viewing toolbar, you have those buttons in the top panel too or simply click "View" and you will see all those options there
