  • I don't know why but i Missed Soon very much And i liked her too...

  • Shu <3 Best heroine ever <3

  • I watched this show and felt my heart crumble from everything Shu went through, dammit its not fair! but great ending I don't see how else they would have done it cept maybe leave a few more people alive like Soon

  • Man, I wish there was an epilogue or something, like shu beating oga. xD

  • I have to say that I feel like a real idiot because the first time I watched this I only watched the first 11 episodes and completely missed the last two!! How is that even possible?! Everyone practically dies in that one!! And that was another episode in my day by day stupidity.

  • Beautiful ending......I really dont know what else to say.

  • I don't know if "Depressing" is the right term. I think the show is melancholy but inspirational. In the end its saying long as we live and strive on, things will be ok.

There are some plot holes though...

    1. Why didn't they just pick up water with the transporting machine.

    2. Does Sara not care about family back home at all?

    3. Little more explanation of Lala Ru might have been nice.

    4. Everyone speaks Japanese? Even Sarah?

    5. What kind of world is going to form after Helliwood is gone?

  • Oh yea, "your" and "you're" are different; YOU'RE a nobody, not 'your a nobody'. Do I have 'a nobody'?

It is depressing, I will not deny that. But you comparing it to some feel-good animé like Gungrave? I think you oughta watch something similar, let those who appreciate better productions who don't want stereotypical, happy-ending-ish shows like you.

  • IronfistedPriest has sent you a message:

    opinions

the comments are enabled to show opinions, i told my opinion that it was depressing and it was. i will bash whatever i want if i feel it needs it, who are you to say what i can or can't do? your a nobody.

Yea, I dished out a comment as well, who's a nobody now? Does it really hurt you that you like feel-good sh!t and happy-endings? You made a comment, I made a comment on yours, that's how opinions work ain't it?

  • Pff. Talk about missing the message entirely.

  • go ahead and point out where im wrong.........

Exactly. some kind of hidden message or not shitty depressing things happen in this anime

  • Because this one is realistic, not everyone gets through the day and this one shows something how it is. It may be fictional, but in a sense it can happen and does happen indirectly.

Happy endings and them other feel-good stuff are your thing, don't bash something because you don't agree with it.

  • id have 2 say Ergo Proxy is just bout depressing as this....also pretty much if u dint like this type of anime why start it and wast ur time watching all 13 eps.....i thought it was pretty good tho but i wonder what his parents thought when he got home lol he prolly has a tona scars on his back n stuff

  • This show is about what would REALLY happen if a person (a kid in this case) were to be transported to another world, what kind of things he would be able to accomplish if he did (not many) the chances that people would be sympathetic (slim to none), and basically is a deconstuction of Trapped in Another World.

  • That said, it is extremely realistic and sometimes sad, but just because "you dont like it" and similar stuff doesnt invalidate the truth, that animes dont NECESSARILY have to be good, any more than movies or books have to end happily. To say that things should only end well is not only naive but also wrong. Why, if the world were entirely of good people, that'd be great, but it isn't. The reason?

  • Life doesn't work that way. Time machine aside, the creators did a hell of a good job making the story credible. It breathed life into it.

I agree that some of the best stories have good endings, but those that dont aren't ay worse off.

  • fuck man this tipe of anime[the awesome type] make me cry for all the fake characters that died FUCK I LOVE THIS ANIME

  • great anime

  • But without all the death, destruction and pain that this anime presents, the message won't come across.

  • shu did close to nothing besides grabbing the guard's keys.

lala ru did all the rest.

She pawned hellywood with all that water.

she had no real intention to sacrifice herself for the humans in the begging.

  • 得たモノはあったけど失ったモノは多すぎた系

    教訓アニメでした。

  • That was an incredible journey. Thank you supersneaky for making it possible.

  • Bravo! Loved the series! :D

  • Two things I can take away from this anime are the most shining example of bravery, and the most pitiful example of cowardice. Not to mention blind devotion, a moral struggle, an emotional struggle, a thirst for power, and selflessness.

This anime manages to weave in so much, make it meaningful, and not get the slightest bit confusing. Whoever made this ought to be extremely proud of themself and no I cannot be bothered reading the credits.

  • I BAWLED when Lala faded away...

Now and Then, Here and There...

    It all comes full circle...

Shu saved the world, saved Lala, defeated "HITLER" and made it home in time for dinner...

The best ending would've been if Lala stayed alive, but in a way, she will ALWAYS be with him.

That is what that sunset symbolizes...

One of the best animes ever...

  • G R E A T. but way too short

  • what happened to hamdo? mmm old anime always has the most intriguing endings

  • wait that it! AH FUCK!!!

  • @ Tandline, you're right, part of this episode is missing. It's after Sara rescues the kid from the torrent. Hamdo asks Abelia to transport him to any year using the bound system that brought Shu there. While the water slowly reaches Hamdo's waist, Abelia opens the chamber doors at lets the room flood, drowning Hamdo. There's also a missing shot after, where we see Hellywood about to crash under a large rainbow, while the ship glows a soft gold.

  • One of the best animes ever.

  • Wow. The last few seconds at the end got to me badly. I was trying to tell someone about the last episode and my voice started quavering.

And, I don't mean this offensively, but why would anyone WANT to see the rape scenes? Because it's exciting to some people? Appealing? What? You saw that Sara was humiliated and deeply scarred afterward, what would be the point of seeing it happen? I can't honestly think of a good reason. At least, a non-repulsive reason.

  • Shu, Sara, and Abelia. Out of a 12 people cast. Only 3 are left alive. Damn...

  • I think part is missing from what's posted here. The actual anime has a scene with Hamdo's death, when he flees to the transfer chamber and is begging Abelia to transfer him to another world, but she refuses.

  • Well thats the last episode, I felt like this whole series was like a movie, ep. 1-7 would be the first movie, and ep. 8-13 would be the ending movie.

  • Thank you so much for posting this.

  • Well this anime has taught me that lifes important. I didn't really want Lala ru to die, such a brave girl for taking that course of action.

This anime really made me rethink my life over. Very moving tale. 5 Stars

  • War is hell. Water is important. Life is up to the draw first, then up to you next. Some people are decent, others are unfortunately nasty.

So that's what to learn here?

and a question...if they can go back in time or however that's supposed to work, they took huge chunks of smokestack and Shu the first time...did they ever try to just go back and...you know...get a bunch of water?

Finally...Hellywood? more like the cocoon of THE MONARCH!

    go team venture!

  • wow, I watched all the ep. on tv except for the last ep. 13. But, dang it. That was so freakin sad. I don't like the ending. Thanks 4 putting it up and all, but wow, that was deppressing!!

  • I don't know the ending was a little to quick for me.

Not enough for closure for my taste but I did enjoy it.

  • not often my eyes water up, but this did it, good job sneaky.

  • I really looooved this anime. i think the fact that it didnt have a fairytale ending is good :D

  • awesome anime but they left something out.. his parents beating him because he was gone for so long lol

  • it's been a long time since an anime has made me cry. thank you for that. =D

  • is he gonna beat oda this time?

  • Right, so they kill off all of the good characters but all Hamdo gets is... Wait, we don't even know if he died! Marvelous, this anime will hence be known as "that shit anime".

  • Ah, so basically you're mad because it didn't have a fairytale ending?

I'm glad it didn't. THAT would have ruined it.

  • No, I'm mad because i wanted that guy to die, simple as that.

Also, fairytale ending? I don't think this anime could have had a fairytale ending considering everything that happened throughout the show, so i wasn't expecting one at all.

  • Did you not notice Hamdo's limp, rag doll body, floating around in thousands, millions (?) of gallons of water. Unless he was part fish, which I don't think he was (lol), Hamdo definetly died!

  • This was one of the best Anime shows I seen in a very very long time :O!!

  • WoW

  • This is the greatest anime ever. Its not like those Naruto or Bleach deaths.

  • Whats really sad is there is no hope of a sepuel since there this show came out in 1999. Well, theres always fanfiction

  • A sequel wouldn't have been good anf fanfiction 999 out of 1000 times sucks. -.- This is the of the few times i actually think it was rounded off perfectly and there is no need for more, simply short and brilliant.

  • It pisses me off that they didnt have a 14th episode wraping everything up like what happened to shu and the rest of the cast a year or so after the ending and in theroy couldn't the military women alebia or whatever lock onto shus location and transporthim back to the future. Also I would rebuild helliwood and rename it Haven. And I'd have shu be the ruler what do you guys think?

  • No, that would be stupid.

Shu went back to his home and time, he didn't stay in that forsaken future. Besides, doing something like that would completely ruin the premise of this anime. It's not about happy endings this time, but about thoughtfulness and the result of sacrifice.

I think, considering the events, this is good closure.

  • I agree with whatisntgoingon this anmie will depress you but I love how its content is gritty and real showing people the true effect of war. And I think shu should have stayed behind with sarah. I know I would've.

Sometimes I think If I was an additional character how things might be different. I would've stayed behind with sarah and rebuild earth. And do you think shu will ever see lala ru again?

  • Probably not, Lala-ru depleted her life force releasing all that water.

  • that was a great show but you think that shu would had killed hamdo.

  • as satisfying as that would have been, it would have made the whole show pointless.

after all that, for shu to finaly decide its ok?

just wouldnt make any sense. now...if somebody ELSE where to crack that stick over that pencil mustache of his... well that'd be ok.

P.S. How like an anime to kill of the entire cast in the last two episodes. what do the japanese have against happy endings?

  • Great Amazing Sad !!! I love it, but its sad that there are not more episodes!!

  • oh come on I wonted to at least see him beat that guy from the frist episode.

  • this animes sad as hell

  • One of the GREATEST F'N ANIME EVER!!!!

  • nooo! not the way i whated it to end... so many thing left undone and unseen like how she got rapet. thanks!

  • lol i kinda wanted to watch the rape scenes too =)

  • @supersneaky how shameful. how can people be so morbid?

I guess there's something true on a saying from this decade...

    ''where's mankind?

    ...gone from long ago''

  • the rape scene seems to have drawn alot of us into this anime. xD

seeing how she got raped wasn't relevent to the story so i guess they never showed it. all you have to know is, she got raped

  • she was raped because Hellywood didn't want her to go back and rat them out so they used her to reproduce soldiers...

  • I assume we're talking about Sara.

How could she rat out people from another time and place?

No, they just wanted to use her for whatever reason they could, especially since she was not Lala Ru.

  • That was amazing. Thanks for uploading this.

  • Oh my god this is fucking amazing

  • thid is like the saddest anime ive ever seen when lala-ru was watching the sunset with shu i cried like a wussy

  • Awesome.

  • Lala Ru ;___;

  • Um... so where is the part where he beats his kendo (or whatever it is) partner? Lol

  • this is one of the best anime shows i've ever seen, even if it is 13 episodes long but still good

  • One of the best anime series I've seen also one of the darkest one I've seen but it is still good. Thank you for the upload

  • I always feel sad and anxiety whenever I think about this... I watched this like two months ago and I still feel so sad... I regret seeing it but I also like how it expresses emotion and passion.

  • samething with me. I also wish they would have wrapped things up better

  • Thanks for all the uploads!!

  • bitersweet ending =]

  • wow

  • Thanks for loading them up supersneaky! It brought tears into my eyes when Lala-Ru pasted away. T^T

  • Man this is the best anime ever. When i first watched in grade 4 I was probably the only kid in Nepal who used to watch this. Ever inspiring makes me realise how peaceful my life is

Thank u so much dude You rock

  • this anime always brings tears into my eyes and will always will. it's just such a good anime to watch.

  • how could abelia have such loyalty for such a weak creepy character.

  • What a profound anime serie. One of a few animes that manage to capture the devastation of war and... our life too. Life-Death, Pain-Joy, Sorrow-Hope, Darkness-Light they're meant to coexist.

Live your life the best you can, because:

"If you're still alive, something good will happen" -shu-

  • I have this on DVD.. I'm so glad you got it on youtube! Tear-jerking!

  • pizdec.

  • i like it so much huhuhuhuhuT_T

  • stole it? who did you steal it from?

  • this was a good anime

  • Wow now this was a really sad, but good show. This 13 episode anime was more fulfilling than most 100+ episode shows

  • That's the beauty of this show. Every episode is profound, and there's deep meaning in everything. The scene where Shu and LalaRu watch the sunset as she fades away is one of the most beautiful things you'll ever see, I say.

  • I just notice that the shows with less episodes are better than the ones with a whole lot

  • wow, one of the best animes I've seen. Heh, I googled "the most violent anime ever" and this came up as number two.. but instead I've found a show that I can really enjoy. I don't like anime, I'm always trying to find something decent.. It was short, and didn't spend forever explaining this alternate Earth (Hamdo did call it "Earth").

The only problem I had was the scene when they were trapped by the monster. It was a ripoff of the movie tremors (terrible movie).

    Thanks for uploading! rant over

  • I enjoyed this

  • ..i meant the ending song where it shows the sunset, the song after that was just...weird o_O

  • first comment...that was a beautiful anime...it didnt have a happy ending, but it was hopeful *tears up* that ending song fits really well, huh?
