Actually I meant Buck Rogers in the 25th century. But whatever, it might as well be Buck in the 35th century, and today's shit will sound awesome compared to what is coming.
Agreed. All aspects of a song always sounded cool back then. Today the focus is solely on the Facebooked singers and that's it. This past decade will not be remembered for anything because there was no common vibe to look back upon. And the sucky music totally reflects that. It's all technology and tits anymore. I like T&T like any man but it is totally abused, tasteless & dead today in art. Much like Buck Rogers in the 21st century art. Why can't people see that? Maybe they are dead, too.
hey now i dont wanna be a bit of a downer but you say this was real music? i mean sure its catchy and i love 80's music but 1) its not live and had it been so wouldnt sound as good as it does, synthasizers are dead for a reason! you compare this to some of the fantastic live gigs today? Coldplay live? Kaiser Chiefs live? Snow Patrol live? 30 secs from Mars? Live?? Muse live? Foo Fighters live? lol i can only come to the conclusion you arn't real music fans! and dont get out much!
OMFG AS SOON AS THE TUNE KICKS IN TIME WARP 83/84 TEENAGE ANGST ,HOW WILL I GET RID OF THESE SPOTS ? ,WHEN WILL I GET MY FIRST SHAG ?,I WISH MY PARENTS WOULD FUCKING GET OFF MY BACK ,SCHOOL LEAVING DAY HURRY UP,HAPPY DAYS U JUST DIDNT REALISE IT ARHHH IF ONLY I COULD GO BACK AND KNOW THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW : )
remember watching this on Top of the Pops as a 13 year old and thinking how cool it was.....crikey.....i've still got my history homework to do and its got to be in tomorrow!
This was a place where keyboards belonged. The biggest mistake of music was taking groups like Rush, etc. and forcing them to incorporate more keyboard. Synth is great, but the music industry was too obsessed with it. Here, however, is where it really shines.
@WildBill6942 Im 23 im still giving you a thumbs up, born too late in '88 only I have the privilage of listening to REAL music on here and filling my iTunes with classic songs from the best decade.

@radix7508 Funny you should say that, this song is played while a kid is riding is bike at the begining of a movie from 1986 called The Leftovers starred John Denver, Willie Garson, and Pamela Aldon. So when I hear this song it makes me think of riding my bike too.
You know, if the reality of the world we live in was just a little more like this song, the world would be a better place. Won't happen. "See both sides"???? That'll never fly.

@jagdflieger100: here's a great story how Howard Jones got starfed: He was working in a saran wrap factory cutting the big roles into smaller roles... He ordered a ROLAND Jupiter 8 keyboard to start making music...and he received 2 of them by mistake. He got the idea the one of the keyboards could play drums, while the other played bass/synth.
