  • the 2008-present Toyota Highlander is assembled in

    Guangzhou, China

    Miyawaka, Fukuoka, Japan

Princeton, Indiana, United States (Oct 2009–present, North America only)

  • Highlander Hybrid = garbage, my agony

  • Forgot to mention that the third row seat is now a split folding seat for 2011. The front end has been newly stylized especially the headlights and front grille areas. Very nice. The new highlanders are almost as big as my old 2004 4runner was.

  • 2011 highlanders are built in Indiana. I bought one about 2 weeks ago. Limited 4WD. It is a sweet vehicle. Looks nice outside and in. 19 inch wheels! I got the navigation system too which is integrated with the audio controls and backup camera. Smart key push button start/stop. Pretty cool too. I really like the power lift gate. The engine and transmission marriage is just so Toyota perfect there aren't any words for how smooth this works. Loving it.

  • What a pos. My 60 chevy shortbox would drive right through that thing. Build a real vehicle.

  • '

MPH is drinking too much gas,,,

    city 17

    hwy 23,,,

    forget it

  • mitsubishi outlander sport has better gas mileage 23/31

  • I just love how some American people take so much pride in "their" cars that they try to insult and argue with others who drive foreign made vehicles.

  • i don't like suvs but this is accetable

  • i love this car

  • $40k? just go buy a RX350

tht middle seat thing in the second row is blowing my mind though...

  • buy domestic

  • @th3ha1og0d The new Highlanders are being made in Mississippi. As far as I'm concerned, a non-unionized American plant for a Japanese car is far more domestic than any car made under the corrupt UAW in Detroit.

  • @cmartel2

You must not be very concerned then. Ah well.

Defend what you own. I know how it is. If I shelled out the amount of money that you did for a POS, I'd at least want to try to believe that it wasn't a total waste. Good luck with your shitbox.

  • * Toyota is recalling 43,000 Chinese-market vehicles including its Highlander and Previa models, along with Lexus' ES350 and RX350. The culprit? Engine oil leaks.

    NICE JOB!!

  • Has anyone towed with it? I'm thinking about buying but have a boat that weighs 3500lbs. Its says it will tow it...but how does it handle on the highway????

  • I just got that car its so awsome and i would rate its a 10/10 on safty cos its very modenr

  • did Toyota outsource fake customer reviews to India? maybe that explains your spelling.

  • hey im 6"4 do u think i would fit in the drivers seat easily??? Plus whats the fuel consumption like does it cost alot?

  • yes, you would fit..

  • that gut talks very strange

  • its a nice car, jus got it

  • how could you prefer fake wood to the real thing?

  • lol i know

  • he made it very clear, for environmental reasons.

  • If you are an environmentalist, you wouldn't be driving an SUV! I had to bring that up.

  • then they should stop making it. you cant blame people for buying the car they want. blame the company for selling it.

  • @skbuoy: That's not even remotely true. Environmentalism has nothing to do with which car you drive. One can be a SUV driver simply because they need the space(why else would people buy an SUV if they didn't need the features?)

Don't misdefine environmentalism: environmentalism is having respect for your environment and doing your part to recycle, and clean it.

Buying an SUV because you need the space is not an anti-environment.

  • thing is most people who buy suvs dont need it. i was trying to point that across.

  • Comment removed

  • Why do you have to say that you are rich? Why so insecure?

  • @skbuoy: What?

I drive a Toyota Camry LE 1997! No I am not rich!

I assure you, I'm not insecure about myself...lol

  • a 2 litre version would be good also. It could provide enough power

  • Just got the car, but realized I can't use the NAV while driving. Not even my passenger can use it while I'm driving. This is a BIG disappointment! Do your online research and you'll see there is a petition from disattisfied Toyota owners to fix the NAV so it can be used while driving. C'mon Toyota...what's more dangerous...using the NAV while driving (this is similar to using the stereo), or pulling off the side of a busy freeway and risk getting struck by a semi truck? The answer is obvious.

  • Get a Subrua Forester

  • not that great of a car honda pilot much better the 3rd row is no leg room at all and over priced I like honda better

highlander looks great on the internet but bad in real life

  • mentioning that youre an environmentalist was unprofessional as it brings about an issue considered political

  • i like toyota highlander, nice car

  • He and the Roadfly stat people have THE FUEL ECONOMY NUMBERS WRONG. Screen flash says 17 & 23. I'm sure thats the normal V6. The hybrid is 27 & 25

  • The fuel economy numbers are correct. The 3.5L V6 gets 17 city, 23 highway. Thanks for your input.

  • @hotskillet The hybrid is a waste of money. I'm getting 20 and 25 on a standard V6.

  • I bought 2008 Highlander (sport) with nav, lether interior etc. for 38k

  • I got Limited 2008 apr 2.9 60 months ,10k down ....fully loaded for 41k the finance lady got me 3 k more into some plans but said i can get off them in 60 days , so a bit confused about tht will do some online search

  • wow that looks roomy, thats awesome how you can take out the middle seat

  • So that means that a fully equipped highlander is overlapping the price range of a Lexus RX 350!!! Wished if the RX had 3rd row seats

  • wait wait wait that motor debuted in the Toyota Avalon, not the Rav4. Dont worry i have a Rav4 but the record needs to be said sorry Rav4 fans

  • that gas milege is for awd highlander the fwd gets 18 in the city and 24 highway

  • I and my wife originally checked out both highlander and mazda cx-9, we both thought the styling of the mazda is 'way' better, and accessibility is amazingly about the same. but the highlander also lacks a 50/50 splits 3rd row seat, so we are leaning towards the mazda cx-9 for now. we will be checking out the new GM crossover too. forgot the name.

  • Acadia??

  • The design should've been a little more modern if anything! overall sounds like a great car!

  • I just bought the Highlander Hybrid and sold my Chevy Avalanche. The gas was killing me with the Avalanche.

  • Well done in my opinion, I am planning to purchase a 08 Highlander soon, so this helped in my decision making.

  • Same, mate. I am going for the Hybrid, because it sounds very promising.

  • Boooooooring

  • You are looking at over 4,500 pounds of steel, rubber, and plastic and you are giving it green credentials because they cut out 12 ounces of wood?

  • Watch out, folks! Toyota has begun cutting corners to reduce their production cost.

  • he's cute but boring. there was one that i liked where he made a joke or two, but eh...he's cute.

  • yaknow what sneeoosh, your not far off. but heres the problem that always causes these things, makng too many cars hurts quality, thats why ford has good quality now since they cut overall production.

  • I like roadfly Tv but their reviewers need a little more life. And that highlander has pretty bad fuel ratings for a hybrid.

  • it's not a hybrid

  • Oh yeah my bad I thought they were testing the Highlander hyrbrid

  • for this car the gas mileage is TERRIBLE, toyota once again blows away the stereotype....yes stereotype that they are fuel efficent.

  • toyota the new gm. marketing yester-year; down hill quality and fuel economy (see 2008 consumer reports)

  • it's an full size suv, what did you expect?

  • more power & less fuel.

check out GM's full size 2008 Suv hybrids

  • Highlander Hybrid is more efficient than those 2 combined!

  • Those are like $60k+

  • LOL, its $30k something, and with all the stuff its no more than $40k

  • hybrid starts at 50k in the US and 66k in Canada

  • it topps about 40k. yes, i spelled tops that w

    ay on purpose

  • r u retarded thats the land cruiser this is like 26

  • I was responding to sneeoosh2's comment about the GM Full size SUV hybrids, not the toyota.

  • roadfly needs to learn lighting techniques so ross doesn't look like a white blob on the screen.

  • yea, sorry about that we have fixed the problem.
