Which is usually done by speeding it up. you don't have to speed it up much. They voices for the chipmunks talked normally and the machine sped up there voices. yes i agree with you 100% that is how they make chipmunks is speeding the song up they they seem not to be the brightest light bulb in the box. i can take my records i got either speed it up and make it sound like chipmunks or i can just put my finger on the record as its spinning and make it sound like chipmunks. but yet this version does not sound like chipmunks just sounds like tom petty on helium like avrill said
