It's vinyl, not 'special paper'. You need a vinyl cutter like a Roland GX-24 and a heat press. The GX-24 is around 2000 dollars and you can buy a cheap heat press for about 300. I use Digi-cut name brand vinyl.

Yes it is. between $1000 and $3000 depending on wich model you use.

But u can use an iron instead..Or u can get an iron thats bigger, back in the days people had those at home for ironing pants. They are very cheap (second hand you should get them for $30

Its a vinyl based heat transfer. Brand name for one is Thermo Film by Stahls. It is cut on a plotter by computer and then has to be weeded of the unwanted areas. See my videos for explanations of the screen printing process.

The vinyl has 2 layers. One is a plastic background, one is the vinyl itself. The plotter cuts the font out of the top layer (the vinyl)

When its ready you can pull the unwanted areas(vinyl) away from the bottom layer (the plastic)

Yes if you make 100 shirts with the same log on it, its more expensive. So you're true.

But i have a shop, and people can come in and design there own t-shirt. So I only make 1 shirt of every design. If i have to make a screen for every design it takes more time. Now im ready in 10 minutes with one shirt.

This is done with CAD cut Thermofilm. It is not a printer, rather a plotter that cuts the film. Then it has to be weeded before being pressed with a transfer press.
