The carnatic music is not just swaras it is more of Bhava and each raga is replete with Bhava. If the singer brings in ample measure this Bhava the music will become Swargeeya.

At the risk of upsetting the Sudha Raghunathan fans, she's certainly technically accomplished but lacks the bhava to really touch a persons' heart....her guru MLV was inspirational with some of her music, whilst keeping in line with GNB's "chevuku kalam" style...However I admit that this early recording is certainly better than some of her more recent releases.

It's Very surprising to see someone expressing the same kind of feeling that i have towards Sudha Ragunathan's music...I totally agree with Gandolf76...Its very true that shes unable to touch 1's heart...this is actually better than her recent releases as u said....she has all the technicality that is also required but the Bhavam is not there....she has a good sense of dressing and thats it....i think she has to work much harder to keep herself engaged during the season with all the sabhas......
