  • Would there be any reason not to buy a bag of marbles and each time you took a nip of whisky from a bottle you pop a few marbles down the neck of the bottle to keep your whisky at the fill level you want?

  • @ChewTheGlue

its an option, but a lot of fuss too !

  • Tried blending my own whisky on this site. Have to say, it was what I was expected. Not that well matured or good in taste, not well balanced but the flavours were there. You can definietely taste the blend hasn't been well matured. The tastes are decent, but don't come together.

UNLESS you rest them in the dram for a good time, I found after 5 minutes in it. It got a whole lot better and smoother. It was fun trying it.

PM me if you want the bottle code, It is very smoky and peaty... Islay

  • i made i blend of glenfiddich 15 bowmore legend chivas regal bushmills glenlivet crown royal silver seal 8 yr and a splash of Buffalo Trace it was smooth

  • I just blended my own bottle, code WBDS996, as a gift for me parents with Christmas. I wanted a sweet thick fruitbomb... I wonder if it will be as I expect it to be...?! Fingers crossed! BANANA SPLIT320ml TOUCH OF SPICE90ml VANILLA FUDGE200ml SMOKE ON THE WATER30ml TASTE OF THE SEA60ml

  • WhiskyBlender is actually selling YOUR blend... LOL

  • @FrontSideBus

Whaaaaaaaat ! the rascals, people should be happily blending their own.

  • Lol, petrol would taste nice after six or seven glasses...

I know what you mean though :)

  • great stuff again, always a pleasure wachting you :) how about a whisky-food-pairing vlog? regards

  • Hello ralfy, how's the experiment with the wine-preserver turning out so far? I'm a little concerned about the CO2. It makes sense for (especially white) wine, but I don't want to carbonate my whisky.

  • @herbsolo

    so far, so good.

  • too bad they don't tell you the details on what's getting blended on the website.

  • Sorry to ask this, but I cannot find the video review were you decant some of your whisky off and mentions the Answer to my question! I just wanted advice on the best place to get some sample bottles to store off any whisky for later comparison/enjoyment, I'm going to make a habit of doing this with every newly opened bottle rather than waiting til getting to the end of the bottle! I just need a stock of sample bottles. Any advice greatly appreciated mate. Thanks

  • @dvdbloke

check out your local herbal dispensary store for small empty bottles.

  • I just picked up a wonderful bottle here in Japan. It's a Vatted malt of Ardbeg and Glenrothes. 9 years old, 46%, and non chill filtered. The Ardbeg is a little more pronounced but the Glenrothes certainly adds a extra layer of flavor.

  • hope everything is ok over there with the storms

  • @bigheadchau

I'm not in Scotland so Hurricane Bawbag did not impact on the Manx Bothy.

  • @Ralfy

    Re: your remote control.

No, no. Remote controls are needlessly difficult. They must surely be designed by fiendish sadists. You can't see the lettering because the fonts are of a dark color on a darker background. You need a flashlight and a magnifying glass to read them. The layout of the buttons defies reason. And if there's a mute button on the thing, it's the smallest and hardest to find button. The struggle with remote controls is a universal human experience.

  • Ralfy = Whisky God!!! Thanks for the fantastic reviews.

  • That is the same bottle as used for Glenbridge.

  • The problem I see from these DIY blending sites is that you have no way of tasting or smelling each individual whisky. From my own experiences of blending whiskies or wines it takes a huge amount of trial and error to get a final product that is very good.

Adding too much/little of one can completely ruin the balance of the others and ruin the blend completely. It'll still be drinkable, just not a great blend. I can see the novelty value in this site, but wouldn't part with my cash for it.

  • @crthebigo - it's an adventure!

  • Very Innovative concept... 2 questions: About how many whiskies do you have to choose from on the website when? Do you get to choose your own bottle shape and label design? I do like the one you have there just wondering how much freedom you have when creating your own whisky on these sites.

  • @MrMariusroyal

7 - no - no, just the wording.

  • This is why this channel rules! just when you think you know it all or seen it all, ralfy gets creative with the surprises.

  • Bless you Ralfy, or as Turks say live long and healthy!

  • Gesundheit, Ralfy!

Well, after watching several hundred reviews, I just now realized that ralfy.com is written on a paint sample card,, with the 'R' on the color of Ardbeg, and 'Y' on the color of A'bunadh. Cheers!

  • Hello there, I just wanted to say I'm really glad I happened upon your channel! I recently started to appreciate scotch and Irish whiskey, and your reviews always have me looking forward to my next new taste :) I appreciate the way you approach and present each spirit, and love your keen sense for picking out individual notes and flavors. So far I can only pick out basic things like oak, vanilla, chocolate and cedar... Do you think my nose will improve as I keep trying new maltys?

  • @eyethirdmy006

our noses always improve with practice and experience.

  • Question for you Ralfy, I bet quite some folks watching you have a nice collection. I'm a die hard Islay fan, and have quite a stack of bottles myself, they're not for saving, they're for drinking! Why wouldn't I blend them at home? And make a small sample before going for liters? So actually the question is; What is better about vatted malts ordered online, than vatted malts made at home?

  • @haehae85

nothing ! . . . it's simply another option, and all part of the fun.

  • Blending you own Whisky : CLASSIC RALFY !

  • This is gold...wow, thanks Ralfy! You're the man!

  • oooh noo... I just got myself a 12 yo Caol Ila Cask Strenght for under the tree ! This website is going to my favourites now ! :-)

  • 10 seconds of this video and I think: Time for a hot toddy!

You can never be too sick for a Whisky and never too well for a hot Toddy!

    Isn't that right, Ralfy?

  • @dvdreviewer87

    . . . that's right !

  • Now there's an idea for the next charity auction...a bottle of Ralfy blended whisky. All it needs now is a catchy name thought up by a marketing department. BenRalfy? GlenMoRalfy? AberAnorak?

  • @unclebud99

    ralfyshambles !

  • Thats actually very nice, could be fun to do one and take to the club and have a taste with the fellow whisky people :)

  • This is also great as present, i know the taste of my mates so i can adapt it to their taste :)

  • Sounds like a really cool idea! It's defintely a good way to ensure you get a whisky that fits your palette, and I'm sure you got a cracking good whisky there. Thanks for yet another good video!

    - Brandon

  • @YZ125Broski
