this is weird, i just saw a news report that said hundreds of thousands of middle class americans can apply for medicaid. that means free health care. thats weird, and expensive, and nationalised. because nobody has read this law, nobody knows whats in it. money is a dwindling resource under this system, and the people who need more money for care may not be worth the cost on the government. we'll see wat happens in the long run, but im thinking repeal is a good idea.
I don't understand why the US doesn't like a nationalised system. The US spends more than us per capita, where they reach about 1/3 of the population. We spend less per capita(and already have one of the most efficient systems in Europe), reach 100% of the population AND rank higher than the US in world health. Our system is win, win

Phoenix VA hospital in AZ notified orthopedic surgeons and therapist that they had reached their quota on work and would not be paid for any more care provided in sept. They were told they could work for free, make the patients wait until next year, or perhaps some money could be found if they were willing to take an 80 percent pay cut.

As for the gov't specifying doctors, it only refers to the definition of a practioner as described by an entirely different bill (the Public Health Service Act), which was enacted in 1944.
