OS X is an amazing OS.. on a mac... It's useless cuz it can only be run on macs... and macs are a waste of money! Windows is too expensive and has high high requirements. @xNfs4masterSx I have not used final cut yet, But I do like Sony Vegas, but that is not a microsoft program even though it was made for it, it was made by Sony. I rather use Google chrome rater than Internet explorer or safari, But safari is better than IE and you can bookmark on it, I haven't used it in a while though. Apple and Microsoft now use the same type of hardware on the inside suck as possessor and motherboards. Apple is a lot more money and I dont know why.

Had to send it to the Mac repair shop (because not just anyone can repair a mac for some reason) several hundred dollars later it still sucked. You said it is limited in programs that aren't needed, well some people like to play games and that is a pretty big limiting factor for a mac. Shut your face when you say people fall in love with macs right after using them. Those people have never used Windows obviously.

And repeat after me: Games are a niche and will never be the deciding factor in the market. Never has and never will. Still, Steam is ported to the Mac and games are released regularly. Seems like it's slowly getting there.
@JonJahren here's the difference, mac spare parts don't exist. And if you can find them they cost an arm and a leg. "PC" parts can be found anywhere, and they are upgradeable, whereas macs are pretty much done after their expected lifespan.
@MasterChafed you can upgrade the ram and hard drives of every mac. and if you go for the Mac Pro (like tower pc), you can change every part. Personally, I have upgraded my Macbook's ram from 2 to 4 gigs and my hard drive from 250 to 500 gigs. And those parts are standard parts. they cost nothing.
@JonJahren When you let some guys from a specialist shop build and set up your system, you can easily replace broken parts without voiding the warranty. And they come with overclocking program on it. Mac is a use what u get and nothing more computer. Vista is good, people still underrate it because of how it was in the past, they should need to shove their XP up their butt and accept that Vista became pretty stable. I've used Vista since March 2009 and I had no errors, instability or compatibility problems and I never got lost. I'm using Windows 7 now and it's perfect. XP-no-more. :P The people can't handle Vista are either too stupid for PCs, or are mentally challenged. Excuse me that I may be so offensive, but it had to be said.
I never had a single problem with vista, it was just slow. No BSOD's (except for ATI Graphics Driver caused ones), no random problems, but just slow. Windows 7 works faster, and can use all vista drivers and software.

@Aviii I have been in the middle of a switch from Vista for some time couple of month ago. What struggled me, besides all the trouble I had with Vista, is that the cooler runs on MAX all the way through my Vista session. It doesn't cool down one single time.
When I run Linux Mint like I am now, it runs at half speed, not even going up, when I use the special effects of Compiz like swtiching between the desktops on the cube.
Lots of the special effects in Mint is not even possible in Vista here.
@ytvoice1 To be fair, Linux doesn't have the ability to keep the content while scaling a browser window. But that cannot be the whole answer. When I ran Vista, I some times had to just shut down the computer for awhile, because it got too hot. All the way to the touch pad it was like burning. I have never experiensed that with Linux.

Try looking at the directory tree. In XP there is (as I remember) some lines indicating the tree. This is completely gone in Vista. Instead you get some shitty flashy thingy-

@andrecasha1 I don't even work on a PC anymore :) I still have one in my office with WinXP, only to test my web-apps in IE, that's the only reason i need it for. Funny how many years ago I would defend MS and put down Apple for the lack of software. Now, I have all the software I need for Mac, it works beautifuly and all the third party software works better than Win counterparts.

1. I had Vista before on this system, and it was so slow, I almost fell asleep. I had to turn the Vista Theme off, which helped a bit, but it was still slow. Then I install Linux, and bam, it just works with all the effects, very smoothly
2. Microsoft did cheat with the specification needs. They lowered the official minimum requirement needs, because Intel had some old processors they wanted to get rid off. Serch for: Microsoft intel vista on Google.
Some of this you can check by opening an XP and opening a Vista and then look at path finder. How easy is it to find out which directory is open, which file you are lookjing at and so on.
Now it is some time since I used vista, but one thing I remeber was that the icon for a dir was allways open no matter what. NOT helpfull. In XP there were a + and - symbol. Very nice.
There were other huge fiaskos in vista, but I will have to try it again to remember.

None of the effects in vista did serve any purpose. In Mint they are very clever, only effects where they can help the user and not in the way. And you can turn them all off so very easily,

OS X is an amazing OS.. on a mac... It's useless cuz it can only be run on macs... and macs are a waste of money! Windows is too expensive and has high high requirements. Negative 1000000 points for both! Linux is FREE, FAST, less Requirements, work on ANY PC, very USER-FRIENDLY and AMAZING. It's functionality and compiz effects ROCK! Thumbs up for linux. My favourite is ubuntu 10.10 maverick!

@xNfs4masterSx I have not used final cut yet, But I do like Sony Vegas, but that is not a microsoft program even though it was made for it, it was made by Sony. I rather use Google chrome rater than Internet explorer or safari, But safari is better than IE and you can bookmark on it, I haven't used it in a while though. Apple and Microsoft now use the same type of hardware on the inside suck as possessor and motherboards. Apple is a lot more money and I dont know why.

@patricknedz The only reason why macs are faster at loading is because of there Solid State Drive hard drive. its like a mini usb therefore it can load faster becuase it dosent have a spining disk that can be scratched or destroyed. I dont know why that is but it just happens, Mac is only limited to viruses but they can still get a virus and wipe the system. @patricknedz I worked with a mac at my old job and hated every second of it. Had to send it to the Mac repair shop (because not just anyone can repair a mac for some reason) several hundred dollars later it still sucked. You said it is limited in programs that aren't needed, well some people like to play games and that is a pretty big limiting factor for a mac. Shut your face when you say people fall in love with macs right after using them. Those people have never used Windows obviously.

And repeat after me: Games are a niche and will never be the deciding factor in the market. Never has and never will. Still, Steam is ported to the Mac and games are released regularly. Seems like it's slowly getting there.

@JonJahren here's the difference, mac spare parts don't exist. And if you can find them they cost an arm and a leg. "PC" parts can be found anywhere, and they are upgradeable, whereas macs are pretty much done after their expected lifespan.

@MasterChafed you can upgrade the ram and hard drives of every mac. and if you go for the Mac Pro (like tower pc), you can change every part. Personally, I have upgraded my Macbook's ram from 2 to 4 gigs and my hard drive from 250 to 500 gigs. And those parts are standard parts. they cost nothing.

The battery life on the macbook is 7-11 hours, while the alienware is 1-3 hours. that's pathetic. And im not sure what your talking about with the hard drives but i ssd's are way more expensive than hdds. again, not sure what you're saying about the hard drives. please clarify.

Hell, a 120 gig ssd would do. games arent THAT big, you aren't going to fill up a 500 gig hard drive with only games. SSD's can speed up your computer drastically, r/w speeds are not even comparable, boot times 30-50% faster, better load times. I agree that space is an issue with most SSD's, but not to a gamer, man.

And steam sucks, its the same engine (HL AI Engine) put into a billion different storys. And a 120 Hard Drive is not good for a gamer. The default "good" pc game is 15-20Gb so yeah its like 6 games or maybe some video files and stuff and u need a new hard drive. SSD'S SUCK.

And they come with overclocking program on it. Mac is a use what u get and nothing more computer. Vista is good, people still underrate it because of how it was in the past, they should need to shove their XP up their butt and accept that Vista became pretty stable. I've used Vista since March 2009 and I had no errors, instability or compatibility problems and I never got lost. I'm using Windows 7 now and it's perfect. XP-no-more. :P The people can't handle Vista are either too stupid for PCs, or are mentally challenged. Excuse me that I may be so offensive, but it had to be said.

I never had a single problem with vista, it was just slow. No BSOD's (except for ATI Graphics Driver caused ones), no random problems, but just slow. Windows 7 works faster, and can use all vista drivers and software.

@Aviii I have been in the middle of a switch from Vista for some time couple of month ago. What struggled me, besides all the trouble I had with Vista, is that the cooler runs on MAX all the way through my Vista session. It doesn't cool down one single time.
When I run Linux Mint like I am now, it runs at half speed, not even going up, when I use the special effects of Compiz like swtiching between the desktops on the cube.
Lots of the special effects in Mint is not even possible in Vista here.

@ytvoice1 To be fair, Linux doesn't have the ability to keep the content while scaling a browser window. But that cannot be the whole answer. When I ran Vista, I some times had to just shut down the computer for awhile, because it got too hot. All the way to the touch pad it was like burning. I have never experiensed that with Linux.

OK, so they stole the idea of a bread crump from Linux.
But the main problem is, they removed some very good usability functions from XP in favour of some shitty Bling-Blig in Vista.
Try looking at the directory tree. In XP there is (as I remember) some lines indicating the tree. This is completely gone in Vista. Instead you get some shitty flashy thingy-
My point is, this is what vista was all about. Cheap and NOT helpfull effects.
Both Linux Mint and XP are far more accessible.

Funny how many years ago I would defend MS and put down Apple for the lack of software. Now, I have all the software I need for Mac, it works beautifuly and all the third party software works better than Win counterparts.

1. It is bloated. It takes more RAM and physical space than nessesary, if it was well-coded
2. It is slow. Very slow. Compared to Linux, it is fall-a-sleep slow.
3. It is not user friendly. Things are not placed logically, but thrown at random.
4. It is insecure. You have to have 17 antivirusses, antispyware, anti-everytihing runnoing real-time.
5. It costs money. Buy Vista, you will be cheated. But you get the chance to pay for it again to get Vista patched, AKA Win7.

1. I had Vista before on this system, and it was so slow, I almost fell asleep. I had to turn the Vista Theme off, which helped a bit, but it was still slow. Then I install Linux, and bam, it just works with all the effects, very smoothly
2. Microsoft did cheat with the specification needs. They lowered the official minimum requirement needs, because Intel had some old processors they wanted to get rid off. Serch for: Microsoft intel vista on Google.

Some of this you can check by opening an XP and opening a Vista and then look at path finder. How easy is it to find out which directory is open, which file you are lookjing at and so on.
Now it is some time since I used vista, but one thing I remeber was that the icon for a dir was allways open no matter what. NOT helpfull. In XP there were a + and - symbol. Very nice.
There were other huge fiaskos in vista, but I will have to try it again to remember.

@cokefan3 I never learned to see what part of the directory tree a particular directory belonged. There was nothing indicating it visually in vista, which meant I was lost so quickly.
None of the effects in vista did serve any purpose. In Mint they are very clever, only effects where they can help the user and not in the way. And you can turn them all off so very easily,
IMO, XP and Mint are almost equally accessible, vista is sh..
