  • not just a cluster of states but a national state there you have it. The nationalist erected their super state that they always wanted. ashame they weren't wiser. A super state like all super states can't last forever. We just watch the collapse of the soviet union only a matter of time.

  • Good video, thumbs up!

  • They didn't go into much detail with the naval war.

  • Bunch of fucking crap, slavery was only abolishedin southern states not in Northern terrotories, and is slavery was the issue of the civil war, why did 2 slave states joined the union against the south?

Drinkin all the PC coolaid? Too funny!

  • @leonidas512

well I will admit this vid a vague but the general idea still holds true. the northern territories didn't have slavery therefore nothing was abolished in the north. the south and the border states had slaves. the reason why the border states weren't freed is because the union needed their support if they were to defeat the confederacy. the border states could've swung either way, but for the most part were occupied by union forces.

Learn to read, as i said there were TWO!!! states in the Union where slavery was allowed even after Licolns abolishment, New York only ended slavery 20 years before that, so its a bit hypocritical. Anyway, the error of the south is that they try to extend slavery beyong their own state territories , so i am not sad they lost,

Live by the sword, die by the sword!

  • African-Americans if they could go back in time would still have kept history exactly the same when it came to slavery otherwise they would be living in a hut in Africa with hardly any opportunities...in America even the African-Americans who are uneducated and on welfare still have cell phones and cable and live better than majority of those in Africa

Yep, they sold out to cultural marxism

  • Releasing the slaves was a by-product of economics, the cotton gin and so forth. Are they still teaching the children that the Civil War was about slavery. That is why we are in trouble...no respect for history and lying to the children about everything.

  • lol without the Cotton-Gin, Slavery would have probably been taken down legally.. and perhaps earlier XD

  • This video is the Civil War in a nutshell lol. I am going to make a better one, something like this: The south started it, the north finished it. The end!

  • The war was over numerous of things like north was taxing the south

  • And also, who was going to control the riches of the west. Discovery of gold in California, sealed the countries fate. Was the west with its resources and trade routes be controlled by the north's banking and manufacturing interest or the south's agrarian interests. Slavery was secondary, as most countries gave up slavery, after Civil War only Brazil and Cuba remained slave nations. But, a war wasn't required to end slavery there.
  • Its takes an essay to explain the causes of the Civil war (difficult to do with video comments). There was also the "Bleeding Kansas" border war that was also a cause. Slavery was much less important from the Union perspective and you can safely say that the northern boys did not fight to end slavery. On the other hand slavery was a big issue with the south and Kansas entering the Union as a free state also fueled the fire. Reasons differed by regions but they both wanted to fight badly.

  • Taxing? Do you mean keeping the general tariff high or are you just on LSD? XP JK

  • this is B.S. The war began over taxation and loss of political power. Lincoln said he would not free one slave in order to save the Union.

  • Lincoln never said that. He said that if he could save the Union without freeing any slaves, he would. His first priority was to save the Union; that doesn't mean Lincoln didn't feel strongly that enslaving human being was wrong and immoral. Saving the Union made it possible to end slavery. The North wasn't perfect by any means, but to say the South didn't want to preserve the institution of slavery is just living in denial.

  • I did not say they would have ended slavery. Slaves were used by both sides. The south was not right to keep slavery but the war was not over slavery.

  • Depends on the viewpoint. The war was not really about slavery from some northern political perspectives. You must acknowledge though, that by 1860 many southern states had populations of over 50% black slaves. See how it becomes a serious issue with them?

You can also make the statement that slavery would have ended without a war anyway. This is a certainty but it just did not happen to play out that way.

  • Actually in a way you are right. But the emancipation proclamation only freed the slaves in the southern states of rebel not the north.Lincoln couldn't gives an ass rats bout slavery and you people know it.

  • @kaidaemon

Yeah, except by that time the Confederate States of America considered themselves a different nation all together so whatever Lincoln said was meaningless.

  • Thanks, great video. But I still think that the states only have an agreement to be together and can separate all they want if the Fed pushes too hard.

  • Wikipedia quote: The Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union (commonly referred to as the Articles of Confederationwas the first governing constitution of the United States of America. The Articles' ratification (proposed in 1777 was completed in 1781 and legally united what were originally several sovereign and independent states, allied under the Articles of Association into a new sovereign federation styled the "United States of America". The U.S.A. is a Perpetual contract since 1781.

  • @dizzo95 nope that constitution was torn up and federalism is a union of sovereign entities. You can look that up. We live in a nationalist state due to the Yankee victory. Uniting the states does not destroy sovereignty. I suggest reading Jefferson and Madison. Read the virgina and kentucky resolutions.

  • @dizzo95 think about star trek if a planet wanted out would the Federation say no you can't leave? They have to voluntarily join so they can voluntarily leave.

  • Abraham Lincoln did not agree with you hehe.
