This sounds pretty cool actually! I also love writting songs too... Good luck to ya!!
1. N/A
2. I know you can use Audacity to incorpreate it but video-wise I think you might need some sorta viedo program... don't know of any though.
3. My advice. Aim for simplicity. Fancy solos and stuff are mainly for shows but the solo in "InThe Fire - Disturbed" sounded really sweet but was rlly simple. Simplicity is importent but also study other artists music.
As far as microphones go, it depends what type of enviroment you are recording in. Condenser microphones will give you the best quality but you need to be recording in studio-like conditions. Rode do great condensers. if you are just planning to mess around and make songs digitally on the comp i recommend just getting a USB interface. I'm using an Presonus Audiobox USB which is great and affordable, but if you have lots of money to spend - Line 6 Pod are the best. Hope This helps Stay Metal.
1. Any digital interface + mic will do the job. I suggest downloading Reaper to record your guitar.
2. For drums, I use Hydrogen. It's a fairly good drum program for Windows/Linux.
3. Maybe add some solos or melodic lead lines.
4. Boy, there are a lot. Nightrage, Insomnium, Skyfire, Wintersun, Mors Principium Est(e), Dark Age...Check out oabbasi's YouTube channel.
Sweet guitar, by the way.

2. applications, and software such as garageband are good. im sure you can download little freeware downloads.
3. put emotions into it, get into it, dont make it to dull, use techniques to your advantage.
