It's a stupid action. Nothing in this helps homeless actually get a real home. This is PR to continue their chaos, which is the real aim, to get more people into the street for the "revolution". That's what it's about, as foxfoxfox admits.
I think the larger point to this is that there are homeless people while the government is letting buildings stand empty. It looked like a really nice building architecturally.
Can someone explain to me how taking over an unoccupied building is related to either corporate power in our country or income inequality? Are we just becoming random thugs? What was the purpose of this?
@ziphii thousands of office buildings, hotels and houses are empty with no intent to be occupied. Meanwhile thousands are homeless. They are owned by the 1% which will only sell when they can turn a massive profit. And the occupy movement is not just about money. On the surface it is but it is a revolution and we refuse to live in this society. We refuse to get attacked by the state. we refuse to comply. Thats why!
@ziphii If there were a Volunteer Initiated Cleanup (VIC) and some sleeping quarters established, they might actually SAVE the county money over homeless folks having to use the "shelter system", which is just an over priced exploitation racket (at times, I suppose).
