Extremely beautiful! Great job! I think you would like a video from my two friends at Yoz Creative and Tulleuchen. It's called "Tulleuchen Human Lights."
Beautifully played. The piano *does* sound like it needs to be serviced but since this is an older video I'm assuming you've done that. My piano had the same issue before we had it tuned, and it's 87 years old.
In any case, this is a difficult piece and she did pretty well. Parts of it felt a little too mechanical but as this is an old video, again, I'm willing to bet if you redid the video she'd do much better. ^_^
In response to your description, I just saw Tombstone for the first time last night, I don't normally like westerns but that was an awesome movie. I'll always think of it whenever I hear this piece from now on. =P
Very beautiful, passionate and emotional. All this seems full of intelligence and analysis. The emotion seems coming from a very logical building. The phrase and the touch is very precise and clear.
wooh, for a grand, your piano does not sound that well, although your sister played this peace very well. But, your sister should try to give this peace a lot of dynamics. If she does that, she can make people sit at the point of their chair!
it's not our piano, she filmed this at a college in Ohio--if you've been to music school then you understand how bad some of those pianos can sound. this vid is also more than a year old--she's been studying with a Ukranian professor at her university and you should hear her play now. :)
I guess you are right, some pianos are sooooo bad. I myself live in Holland and play the piano as well, and once I had to do some kind of exam on a piano that had broken strings! Is there a way I can hear her playing now. When you have a great teacher, there is so much you can achieve in one year! (sorry for my english :P)Greetings from Jeroen from Holland!
...one of the most famous citings (or maybe it's from a letter of his, I don't remember) of Chopin goes in the lines of "...I despise notes, that sound like dogs barking" (you know, very hard and loud)... always soft... always soft...
the lack of dynamics is due to the camcorder that deliberately smoothes everything oút- pity , You play it very good though in some chords the fingers were not simoultaneous.
If you like your piano , move it from the fireplace, it will deteriorate because of the hot/cold variations.
your sister plays quite beautifully, though she doesn't seem to have your maturity and graceful touch, yet. I really like the B&W shots of the city in this video, it really adds so much ambiance to the overall performance. this appears to have been professionally done, yes?
omgz i no yo sista wants ta c DISbodie... yeah.. anyways.. I started learning that nocturne, then I just got real busy :/ What other pieces did she play for thsi audition video? (sans baroque) and uhmm... there was something else I was gonna ask..
Oh dam, I love this Nocturne. It's one of the only Nocturnes from Chopin I played so far. And wow she played with the most perfect tone ever for this piece :D. And it's so god dam emotional. She played with great interpretation/technique too! I love the video editing, and the perfect ending

this is perhaps chopin's least celebrated masterpiece...
certainly it has influenced many new classical compositions....
you play with such power, and grace, thus the feminine approach is not something that is lacking...
bravo,

The playing is great but i dunno, am i the only one creeped out by a brother filming a upskirt shot (3:47) of his sister playing piano?
Also in the description he says shes beautiful. I guess thats not so strange by itself but it adds to the leg filming part lol.

Dude, you call that an upskirt??? COME-ON! She is pretty and she plays....She PLAYS!!!! Great!!!!!!

she needs to work on the left hand... right from the beginning :) and maybe try to avoid that direct playing...

Oh god this is even worse than the partita interpretation. If you were going to respond, I would have thought it could have been played better. hmmm.

she will be coming to visit me later this year and I'll be sure to post more of her playing then. Holland--what a cool place, lucky you!

@Jeroentje6713 You are from the Netherlands so perhaps English is not your native language. What you mean is "piece", not "peace".

@AlphaSierra5 No, I actually meant peace.

seems to be lacking dynamics...also gets a little sloppy with those runs/trills around 2:30. video is well put together though. good job overall.

which is her best liked composer?
indigoblue555 4 years ago
I would recommend listening to other great artist play this piece, Rubenstein, Arrau, Horowitz, ect...
A softer touch, more emotional connection to the music.
Make it bleed emotion!!
What would help a lot is to get your piano regulated, voiced and tuned by a good technician. Keep it up!

got a little sloppy on those thirds.
