Do you exercise regularly? Regular exercise can decrease your palps. Also when you are having a lot of them.... doing something physical will usually help to stop them... just a tip. ;)
Sodium can deplete your body of potassium, so be on the lookout for that. Lots of foods are packed with sodium and it's easy to go way over the recommended amount.
But yeah, potassium and magnesium are absolutely critical for a normal heart rhythm. I'd recommend eating foods that are rich in both minerals and staying away from salt and sugar as much as possible. You might even want to keep a journal or something to keep track of your nutrition and the number of palps you're having.
